You all over the map. First you scoff at seam routes being hospital balls…despite the fact those are always routes QB have to be worried about throwing their WR into a hit. now you are countering with the “you act like Renfrow is on IR” defense and the “but how did he keep playing after that” defense lol it’s a hospital. Simple. You even got NFL QBs explaining it to you in real time with the all22 and telling exactly where Bryce need to put the ball and when.

https://www.nbcsportsboston.com/nfl/new-england-patriots/dont-hold-your-breath-gronkowski-says-he-approaches-seam-routes-with-no-fear/381799/?amp=1 Yeah, here is Brady, Gronk and the prime Patriots discussing the dangers and risk TE/slots face with seam routes. you way too smart to be defending some of this bro How did Renfrow get the rib injury and why wasn’t that classified a drop. Go check the game day thread. Entire board could ID that obvious one in real time.

Hospital balls are hospital balls. I mean, someone just posted a NFL QB (who is pro Bryce) breaking down that exact throw where Bryce threw him into the S hit. It was a hospital ball….and now Renfow got the rib injury to go along with it. the Bryce defending is just on a complete different planet at this point.

The entire past couple seasons the entire mission has been to build up the O to the detriment of the defense. we also spent our last 3 first round picks on the offense and went out in FA to cement the leagues most expensive OL in the NFL No real point moaning about the D. They were designed to be weak while we built up a good O. Meanwhile the O has been at the league bottom the entire time. we have an offensive issue.

I saw a clip but haven’t listen to them defending their playcaller not needing the preseason work lol

Blamed Corbett for the ball being consistently snapped with the play clock at 0? How is that on him? He can’t snap it until he gets the signal/call. I wonder how many snaps were made with more than a 1 second on the clock vs the under. Those late snaps are Bryce/Dave. Mays can’t speed those 2 up. Corbett’s snaps sucks but I still think you gotta acknowledge they not him against a playclock penalty all game long. I think Hubbard largely alluded to he was going to take of that issue/nonsense. Think it’s a combo a Dave and Bryce but your QB gotta be the problem solver there. Pull a Cam and bitch out the coaches on live TV if it’s not the QB. You can’t play like that.
-
I’m not saying he looked good. But I don’t think enough folks acknowledge what a horrible spot he was in all game. Corbett as basically last second ensuring there was no delay of game penalties. One of those you tubers broke down just how close we were to taking penalties all game. Just horrible O.
-
If Mays is sitting their with the ball as the play clock strikes zero all game….he likely is going to have delay of game or possibly snap issues too

Ekwonu - LP (illness) A. Evans - LP (illness) Hunt - FP (foot) P. Jones - LP (ankle) Lewis - FP (shoulder/ankle) Renfrow - LP (ribs) Robinson - FP (groin) Wharton - DNP (hamstring) That’s what a hospital ball will do….

probably more Josh Allen than Cam in terms of college comps
-
He got a ways to go to catch Cam the collegiate passer. Gonna be hard to develop a lot this year you would think given the SC OL so to an extent, he seems to potentially be like some other Gamecocks that have entered the draft recently. Physical tools make you really want the guy…..no one really close that could come out have near the tools

Bryce Young is a problem — what would you do if you were Dan Morgan?
CRA replied to OldhamA's topic in Carolina Panthers
Dave would have the excuse/logic that he hasn’t been able to bring a QB that fits his O. That was the prior HCs QB and it got that HC fired with quickness. Can’t expect Dave to win this year without a QB if he went 5-12. Morgan tied Bryce to him by not dealing him. Be horrible this year and Dave isn’t getting more time most likely -

No one would be complain if Bryce and the O were productive and threatening…..and we lost with bad defense. Thats literally what we setup with our investments to be at this point in time. -

best case scenario for fans is you just play Bryce 17 straight games and you get the clean break from him. . the problem becomes, all the people at BOA that will start trying to position themselves to save face/jobs (survival is the NFL game). And never benching a bad player, well, that creates an inhouse nightmare. Which generally means you make a run through all your QBs at some point when things go bad. Dan fugged this all up. They moved on from Bryce last year and failed to trade/get rid of him. That was the proper play. -

This is true. But I don't think you can really do that with Bryce. Week 1 was extremely consistent with what Bryce has been each season entering a year and overall as a QB. I think the real liar is just the anomaly week 18 game last year. Without that one random game.......Bryce Young's career to date really isn't really debatable at all. He doesn't belong on the field. That's at best a backup. The one game doing a LOT of lifting given how many other games are out there. -
I mean, Bryce Young is literally in an offense that is constructed to be about the deep ball. He just is bad at it and it goes against he how naturally plays/skill set. It's also why his completion % is garbage every year and why he leads the NFL in bad throw % since arriving. He doesn't fit the O scheme and what it asks. The offensive scheme requires it. It would be like putting rookie Cam in some small ball O and saying the stats back he likes doing that. It would have gone against everything he was at that time. It was his worst ball. But Bryce Young doesn't like it nor is he good at it. No one that watches Bryce Young play football would actually say he wants to go downfield with the ball and that his thing.....that some deep stat narrative that gets pushed. It's why he went 0-4 on basically easy deep shots Sunday. Big time throws can be a 5 yards slant. It's bologna. And PFF would award Bryce as the best deep passer going 1/4 over some dude chucking it for multiple scores.

I didn’t bring up the Dalton win. Someone used it as an example of the D still be bad no matter what. But in reality, it is an example of them being less bad than they averaged on the year. Because it was a game with offense and possession of the ball. If there were more games like that the D likely isn’t historically bad and just bad. Just the math of keeping them off the field -

Well, sure they are a bad defense. but you brought up the one Dalton win. And it merely is an example of the most passing yards on the season (again it happens when Bryce isnt on the field on every season to date with a washed Dalton)…..and the D allowed less pts and yards than they averaged on the year. Offense keeps all variety of defenses, in our case bad, off the field. I don’t want Bryce to be Cam. I want him to at what bare bones behind the most expensive OL in the NFL….generate average offensive production -

Well, that Dalton game produced the most passing yardage on the year. And the D coincidentally allowed less yards and points than they averaged on the year. Probably because it resulted in the best TOP all year….offense keeps a bad D off the field -
I think league wide, there just aren’t a lot of TEs where that’s a high % play. Are there even 10 really good rec TEs in the entire NFL right now? Might be but you would probably have to really think about it. Just seems like a tough ask to count as a should be. PFF counts it as a straight up drop.

Huddler A: hey, this D stinks Huddler B : I mean, yeah, it does. I think people just agree. Weak talent, weak coach. It’s gonna be bad this year. Everything has been dumped into the O. And it’s bottom of the league. if we had the most expensive DL in the entire NFL and had spent the last 3 first round picks to go along with that DL….people would be raging about it more -
Patterson was a great football player. Bad WR. We see that a lot on defense and at WR. XL can still be of value if we had a good staff.
-
You explain how Renfrow gets his grade in the what if the other guy actually did his job world of PFF? That ball to TE Saunders is a very difficult ball. Thats not a gimme that’s supposed to get logged like the XL foot down ball. It wasn’t a 50/50 im the sense 2 guys were going up for the same ball. It’s just a low % play. A TE gonna collect that type ball maybe half the time.
-
Oh and the PFF brainiacs were breaking down the upcoming game. Dude said if there is one thing we know about Bryce Young…..he wants to throw the ball downfield wut? I think they must have let AI takeover their work or some poo. It doesn’t sound like they watch Bryce Young. Who would describe Bryce like that lol
