Functional? Maybe after the bye. But this offense isn't going to be respectable with Frank Reich calling plays and this skill talent in 2023. Frank is what he is and the skill talent is what it is. Pending their isn't some miracle where someone tranforms quickly like a Mingo or TMJ into a vastly different player. But the rest is what it is. Hurst, Theilen, Chark, etc all are what they are. And there just aren't good odds that Mingo or TMJ can make massive enough jumps to really alter things. but I always thought pre bye it was going to be really rough. Hope would for Bryce over coming some of it and growing down the stretch. But that doesn't mean wins. or even good offense. Just good individual play in a meh spot.

jump balls to average WRs that aren't open? I can probably guess what happens at fairly high percentage. And it results in people being mad at Bryce for throwing INTs.

Dalton's last start, he generated 170 passing yards and his offense had 7 points. 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022. Dalton has been called upon the last 5 seasons to step in. Never able to get above .500 in with his opportunities. Dalton to an extent is a Bryce type QB. Just the opposite end of the spectrum. He needs the talent around him to do the work. Bryce because he is a rookie and Dalton because he now sucks.

I wasn't talking about in the stands of BOA. I mean, outside BOA. So the media gets ramped on him. The talk shows. The online world. It's already frankly started. And it's super early for Frank to be dealing with all the stuff that got him ran out of Indy. Honeymoon window already over. Which was SUPER quick. I think Frank feels that.

well, look, I get the comparison to a degree. Not so much as players.....but the Carolina offenses. It's basically operating similarly. Difference is, Jimmy was just bad and had talent he could of taken advantage. Bryce and Jimmy clearly aren't the same players. The offensive results are similar however. There was a big difference in what was around those 2 in terms of talent.

I mean, we hired someone fired for his bland, predictable and boring offense. I mean, you can go read old Indy stuff and find mirrored complaints. A 60+ year old coach ain't changing his ways. Which is why the Brown hire doesn't really matter. Frank is calling the plays. It's Frank's core offense. and we got weak skill talent. that doesn't cater to what Bryce Young does well. and this is the predictable result.

the Prime Vision with Next Gen Stats really cool for anyone that hasn't checked it out. It's not the normal Amazon broadcast. This years version highlights the player when they get open/separation and tracks all sorts of stuff. They also use the full view of field.

Frank knew in that presser he is going to start Andy Dalton this week IMO. and Frank knows he has a mess on his hands in terms of dealing w/ those outside BOA coming. That folks are going to be coming at the fired Indy coach soon.....with the same complaints. and really early. Which is a bad start for the Frank era.

Scott and Fitt are the ones who need the heat. This season has opened up just as predictably bad as the last 2 did. Folks just didn't want to hear it. Just like they didn't going into prior seasons. And that prediction of it going south early wasn't about Bryce. It was about Frank and what he was putting around a rookie. Nothing about it looked like this org was doing Young good. It's all setup for Bryce to have to play well above what a rookie QB should be expected of. It was easy to see this coming IMO. Cam was setup for success as a rookie Bryce was setup to have a rough life And that's not hindsight. People just didn't want to acknowledge that coming in.

Marty, Dave, Fitt *Fitt can at least move potentially. Marty is the prettiest ugly girl simply because of his home runs. It’s a long list. People like to mention the success during Dave’s window….but it was off the backs of Marty’s super studs entering their primes IMO. Marty probably doesn’t get the credit he deserves for those home runs. Lots of franchise draft high. They don’t hit like that.

If Andy Dalton starts in Seattle, he is the starting QB when talking about the Seattle game. Frank Reich should know who he is. Just he he did the guys who started at OG this past week. And the backup who then came in.

Again, 100 kids when your job is working with kids….isn’t a crazy feat months in. And we are talking about the starting C. it’s just over defense of Sanders. It was weird. Simple as that,

if Will Shipley or Cade or Williams or Woods whoever for out for Clemson ….Dabo knows who will be the starter for him in their place. Or Beamer or basically every major college football coach. there is over the top hate and their is over the top defense of most things. That was a weird interaction by Sanders. Simple as that. There is one Hank on that roster. He confused by all the non-existent Hanks. if Sanders doesn’t know the name of the kid literally starting for him at C at his school. It’s weird. No matter where he was on the depth chart the week prior.

It’s still his starting center for the game. This isn’t the first day of school. He is a football coach. 100 kids isn’t actually a lot in the context of a college football coach this far into a season. it’s still a weird clip. Maybe he was thinking of Hank Williams Jr from the old NFL intro. Not sure who all the Hanks were he was confused over. 1 Hank on the roster. No Hanks on staff.

Whitlock is horrible. No doubt. And has his own agenda But Deion still didn’t know the name of his starting C. Which is really freaking odd at the least

Deion doesn’t know his starting Cs real/birth name. That much seems clear. Which is odd for someone that touches the ball every down and who essential to his QBs play and safety. some talking heads were also talking about that cheap shot on the DB/WR superstar……and how literally no one cared outside of Sanders son. Which is odd in football. And it even happened on the Colorado sideline. it does seem like Colorado is largely a Sanders family reality show that features the one superstar making a guest appearance. Camera crews basically document it like a family owned business. I do wonder how the Deion Show goes when they start getting smacked. Which is the next couple weeks.

Frank today Bryce’s ankle is hurt. No idea on the play. No idea if it looks like a high sprain nor do I know anything about my starting QB and major investment My offense is the same whether it is a an experienced vet running it or a rookie fresh out the box why do I put Dalton in on short yardage? Hilarious y’all think it is because of Bryce’s size, it’s totally not. I want them to be caught off guard by the sensational aging Dalton. I mean, that’s a bad presser. That’s Matt Rhule-ish junk.

For the record, I’ve hardly said anything bad about Young. I’m no BY hater. I have had a lot to say about those around him and those who are failing him and failed him to date. I don’t want BY’s career to get sidetracked and ruined before it gets a legit shot/start. I got no issue with BY. And I was talking about the poor job they did around BY before the season started. People got mad about that. Felt they were setting him up poorly. I had an issue with the skill talent, Frank calling plays and defenses being able to sit on the pass game. And I also called people getting mad at Bryce because they wouldn’t acknowledge all the problems around him before the season started. When they were calling Miles Sanders an awesome do it all RB, that this was the best WR corp in a long time, defended Frank’s playcalling, etc my issue isn’t Young. But this season has started pretty much how I called it.

They can’t tell you what play he hurt it. That’s a little odd. and they will take their time getting it looked at. Instead of today, we will just have it looked at tomorrow. Which will knock Bryce out of another day of practice. Then you certainly can’t start a rookie QB on the road in Seattle……on an already short week, missing 2 days of prep. I hope they do sit Bryce. I don’t care the reason. These folks are on a trajectory to ruin him as is.

Young certainly could have had some INTs that game. Got saved on that fumble too. just because they don’t happen doesn’t mean the bad play didn’t exist these guys around Bryce certainly don’t look ready to be grooming and developing an investment like Bryce. This all looks like how you ruin a QB.

Zach Wilson had the rest button hit after 7 games. and that’s a black eye for the team and QB to let it get to that degree. maybe Bryce is really hurt bad. But after 2 weeks, this team (offense) doesn’t look good enough to have a rookie QB out there. Especially one that we dumped so much of an investment into IMO. Heck, let’s say he is 100% healthy, another game at the continued trajectory…..would bring up having a pause convo anyway.

But it does read like his age. but yeah, if your gameplan is the same for a rookie QB making his 3rd start on the road and a former pro bowl vet QB with a decade + in the league???? Bruh, have you watched the Panthers? Bryce is struggling in this disaster offense. Things are going exactly how you don’t want them to go. It’s how you ruin QBs. Next up is Seattle where you can’t even hear yourself think. and yes, if Bryce fails they are all done. So why ruin him like this.
