He is a green, young and not very good QB. and this is a brand new system. live action matters. In practice he sees the same players with weaknesses and strengths he uniquely knows. I mean the game itself doesn’t matter, as in winning them. Bryce Young getting a lot better matters. I don’t agree with the less is more for bad players. Practice vs your own is just that. No reason not to rep him as much as possible.

If Canales doesn’t play Bryce this preseason he can see the door as far as I’m concerned. Why are we hiring coaches that treat green/bad QBs like pro bowl vets.
-
I think it is predictable. Bryce Young isn't very good....and Canales plays a style of football that probably makes Frank's O look like a good fit for Bryce.
-
Disagree compared to those that were mentioned. His physical tools…size, speed, strength, ability to play the ball in the air are all better than them. I mean he is a very specific type WR. Most are. He doesn’t fit what Bryce Young does. I’ve said that from the jump. Does hit fit what Dave has been around? Yes. XL isn’t going to be anything until paired with a QB that plays the game that fits him

Brees and Brady could nickel and dime folks, especially as they aged....but the prime versions would throw the haymakers and would play aggressive downfield. They became the king of nickel and dime after HOF careers were already stamped into the books.

yeah, not sure about that. Marvel has been in a slump... but the last 2 Marvel movies were pretty good. Guardians 3 and Deadpool/Wolverine were both strong.

pretty much. Fitterer essentially has ensured a roster spot for him this year because of the contract. So let's say a Penny was better. You would have to be a LOT better to for the Panthers to eat the Sanders money.
-
I'm done. Frankly, the worst possible outcome is some tiny improvement that ultimately means nothing. Dude doesn't have the physical tools to be anything at this level. Nothing of note. It's pretty glaring. We need to move on from him after this season. Take it on the chin. We should be good at that at this point. Let Canales get a QB that does what he does in year 2. Then go find a QB to be our future.

Sanders got that never should of signed and then overpaid him style
-
I mean, healthy? I'd rather have him as part of the RB committee than Miles Sanders. But paychecks dictate roster spots. ideally, we go Chubba with a little Miles to start off the year transition to Chubba with a little Brooks then Brooks with a little Chubba down the stretch

I think Matt Rhule is on record about not really treating players right when he arrived into the NFL. Clip someone of him addressing what he learned and it was version of he basically wasn’t prioritizing that they were actual people or some poo. Which jives with post above. It’s must a nice way of saying he was a jerk/not players coach

Bryce wasn’t a good QB and was paired with a predictable O. scheme might be changing but Tampa was very predictable last year. Big plays downfield kept them alive.

2023 refresher?

Matt Rhule's lane = the American Athletic Conference

Matt Rhules seem of already forgotten... Colorado won 4 games last year. All of those were by a single score too. Well, accept for 1 of them....the mighty Big10's Rhule Cornhuskers. Colorado actually whipped 1 team by 3 scores.

yeah, other WRs seems to be a better fit given where the Panthers presently find themselves at QB. But XL IMO is the best fit for what Canales has overall been around in terms if NFL offenses. Question would be can Canales hang around long enough for that to matter.
-
only real difference, is XL has legit freak NFL physical tools to work with. Those 2 didn't.

Matt Rhule is such a clown. He basically gave a BIG10 runs college football speech and everyone knows it lol. The CFP era is dominated by the SEC. Everyone knows that. The math be mathing for the SEC. You might give Clemson a tiny shoutout for the success they had at one point. 2nd most successful team in the era.
