  1. I mean, think of how many fans of other teams are being trolled right now...
  2. Its fake money to reduce his cap hit this year. It'll get reworked next year. It doesn't seem like crap like that should be possible, haha. Oh well.
  3. If Cam was completely done, the Patriots wouldn't have brought him back. The contract is very team friendly, though. It does seem like they're giving him a shot to show he can be more than a meh backup, but not counting on more than that.
  4. Cam's contract is heavily incentive laden. I think it makes sense for both sides, and it is VERY low risk for the Patriots. They desperately need to upgrade their offense (and that includes QB, tbqh - but maybe that comes with another year + better weapons). I'm rooting for Cam, but this contract is just barely more of a commitment than the last one in the grand scheme. None the less, it says that his coaching staff believes he can play, even if they aren't sold it'll be at a guaranteed high level.
  5. Your post was good. He's talking about someone's poo reaction to the OP.
  6. Love Cam and hope he hits whatever incentives are in the contract. I wasn't very positive about most of his season last year but I'm glad they saw enough to bring him back for another year.
  7. It could harm us for years. It could also turn into the single greatest move in franchise history, depending on what Rhule & co can do with later round draft picks and others. It is a massive gamble, but how many first round picks is one of the top 3 QBs in the league worth, do you think? And how many first round picks are we willing to potentially "waste" before we land someone even close to that good?
  8. definitely weird since, you know, the Texans have just been ignoring everything and anything related to trade offers
  9. I don't believe anyone is off limits if we're talking about acquiring someone like Watson. But it better not be two of them.
  10. I have been assured that the new coach and gm would gladly crater their opportunities in order to shove it to them greedy players!1!11!
  11. That's what I thought but tbh I wasn't around a ton to follow last year's draft, so I thought perhaps I was mistaken.
  12. I thought arm strength was one of Herberts strengths? Maybe I am misremembering...
  13. My greater fear is that Mac Jones is a younger Teddy. Good enough to not lose some games, but not good enough to win any, putting us back into QB purgatory, and with one less first round talent on the team when we move on from him in 2 to 3 years. I don't think Jones is so bad he gets instantly replaced... in fact I could see him having quite a Dalton-like career.
  14. Its easy as fans in March to say wed be fine with Grier or something worse, hoping we will tank our way to a QB. Asking a bunch of professionals to do so? Not so easy. Hell, it's easy to say it as fans in March and much harder in August haha.
  15. Yeah I don't see Miami going with another QB either. I'm not sold on Tua myself but I also think he needs more time, and they knew it would be multiple seasons to truly evaluate him when they drafted him. Given QBs will probably go 1 and 2 they'll have the pick of incredible players, or they can trade back to a qb hungry team like us.
  16. Warner didn't take a snap until 27 basically. As a Ram he had a great arm, and the lone scouting report of him gave him top grades for his arm strength. Whether or not his arm strength was elite it was above average.
  17. That is absolutely not true. Google the one scouting report that exists for him from college. His one attribute was arm strength lol
  18. There are far more examples of players in the pros being the worst versions of their college selves than in being Brady, though. It's why there is so much emphasis put on physical gifts because the important intangibles are incredibly hard to judge and they often play a big role, but some of them can be covered up with great physical gifts temporarily while a player adjusts to the NFL game
  19. I don't understand why people try to compare Brady in college to any modern prospect. There's no point. Part of Brady's story, as we all know, is the pact he made with the devil after the NFL draft to go from a seemingly mediocre college QB to a God among NFL players. But seriously. Jones is as likely to be Brady as Kyle Allen was.
  20. I love Fields. I actually think that he often rises to the competition, rather than shrinking from it. I would be okay with nabbing him with a trade up to 3. Would prefer Watson, but I can imagine how that might not work out...
  21. Given he is widely anticipated to go some place later in the first or shortly thereafter, I don't think he is being unfairly criticized. When people talk about his arm strength and athleticism they are in reference to what you want out of a top pick, which is usually elite levels.
  22. I don't hate on him for playing on Alabama. I also don't trust my own judgments as much as I do scouting reports on him... which all point out meh athleticism and average arm strength (but actually highlight strengths I think our offense could utilize quite well). I just don't want him with #8 from what I've seen and read.
  23. So when you let a QB set his feet and throw in a clean pocket, even those with average arm strength can get the ball 40 yards down the field. That is why Bridgewater had numerous 30+ yard completions, including one that went 48 yards in the air and frankly was thrown fine overall (it was probably his BEST throw all year even if his receiver had to slow a bit - 48 yards will do that, lol). Is Jones' arm better than Teddy's? Maybe? It doesn't seem remarkably so. Scouting reports indicate that is his weakness, that his arm is average and it certainly seems so. These things are hard to compare. Certainly he could succeed as an NFL QB, as we've heard various arm strengths can succeed, but I don't think he has the arm strength of the elites, even if he does have 4-5 nice deep throws over the 2.5 hours of clips...
  24. Yeah I could see him a Panther... if he's there in a later round.
