I think there could be an opportunity to get a number of great players in later rounds this year. Covid makes this an unusual year. Most teams are going to prioritize guys who played this year. Rhule and staff still have deep knowledge of a ton of college players from their recruiting days. Knowledge other teams don’t. I’m expecting there to be a ton of overlooked talent.
-
Why, because he clashed with Rhule? I think Brown was a great pick. We desperately needed a DT and this years class is terrible. Hopefully, Marty’s overall record of roster building is what got him fired.

That article could have been a huddle post. The guy said nothing new.
-
Isn’t that just huddle lore?
-
That doesn’t mean the ability is overrated.
-
Yes, but being able to fit a throw into tight windows is helpful. Sometimes the only way to make a play is to throw a laser.

Having the best arm in this draft doesn’t mean his arm is special. I agreed with most of this article. Lance doesn’t have special physical tools like a Rodgers or a Cam or Mahomes and he’s never seen nfl level competition. If you draft him, you’re making a bet. To me, I don’t see how Lance is any different than Grier.

well done.

How do you know this?

They’re going to spend the next 20 years chasing 7th round Tom Brady 2.0. Should be fun.
-
And I will never forget that team that had a great C, LT, and two stud guards but lost in the SB because of one terrible right tackle.
-
Sure, there are pros and cons to both. I’m just tired of the team collapsing after one or two of these top guys gets injured. Our depth (due in part to the cap) has been terrible in recent memory. How resilient a position group is (especially o line) is just as important has how dominant it is when healthy.
-
I know. But the idea is, do you pay one guy top 5 LT money ($25 mill) or do you opt to keep two decent guys at $10-15 mill each. Does one pro bowl OL help you more than two above average guys?
-
I’m thinking more about after the rookie deal.
-
I’d almost rather trade down and pick up one or two more solid OL guys than take one really good OL guy. Cheaper and better for the team in the long run.

Wow...very interesting. I get the feeling he and the Jags are not going to get along all that well. I also see an early retirement in his future. Obviously not a dude that plays to 40.

That’s the sound of Marty drafting in the second round.

I doubt it’s really that simple. If it was, Peterson wouldn’t have flamed out so fast. I know it’s popular to say “boo math nerds - yay football guys”, but most of these “football guys” are pretty dumb too. My guess is the eagles had some good stuff going on but it came from the wrong personalities. Plus, they had some lucky breaks (as you said).
-
They still won a SB with that combo.

Roseman is the new Easterby.

Win. That’s kinda the point of sports. You win, you get paid. That’s fair.

He’s seeing ghosts out there....you know?
