  1. Ironically enough, Chubba looked way better once the guy that advocated for him to be drafted was gone. As soon as an adult was leading the room, he was utilized properly and not made to be a receiving threat out of the backfield because of his stone hands. I was honestly surprised at how competent he looked once Rhule was gone.
  2. Indeed he did. No shade from me, CJ balled out against Georgia. I'm honestly peppering a ton of pro Young content not because I necessarily like him better than Stroud, but because the majority of the fanbase seems to be against him because of his size when his game itself is actually really good and we should be happy if he's the pick. Kind of want to be proactive in letting the fanbase down gently in the event Young is the pick and not Stroud, because there is a ton to like about both, not just one over the other.
  3. MHJ got knocked unconscious in the final minute of the 3rd quarter. OSU didn't score another TD the rest of the game, but CJ marched them down the field twice for two FG attempts. Kicker missed the final that would have won the game, Georgia won. CJ did is best to put the team in a chance to win, kicker blew it.
  4. It means he throws guys open. It means that he is in such control of the offense, he throws the ball to a spot and expects a guy to be there even before he breaks his route. He does it a ton on film, it has nothing to do with compensation for height or arm strength. He reads defenses well enough to know where to place a ball on a look before a receiver can get there. It's the kind of Crap Manning and Brees did all the time in the pros. JT talks about "Uppercase 'A' and lowercase 'a' Anticipation throws" in a lot of his videos. He has high praise for guys who start their throwing motion right when a guy breaks, and even higher praise when he starts his motion before the receiver even makes a move. Young has more "Uppercase 'A'" throws than Stroud does from JT's perspective.
  5. You are correct, I was mixing him up with Egbuka, who is also better than any receiver currently on Bama at the moment, and also not entering the draft.
  6. ... Because Stroud was still throwing to better receivers? This past season he was throwing to Marvin Harrison Jr, the guy who would be the consensus #1 receiver if he were eligible this year and JSN, a first round player coming out this season. Last year he had Olave and Wilson, both first round receivers. Young had Williams last season and not much this year. Young was carrying his team this year, whereas OSU was just a better all around team. Yes Young's numbers took a hit in terms of volume stats, but his y/a, ay/a, and QB rating are pretty much identical. He was just as efficient with a worse team surrounding him. You can be a fan of Stroud over Young, but even the staunchest of Stroud supporters even admit Stroud had a better supporting cast. The argument that Young's receivers made him just seems completely disingenuous based on everything.
  7. Sure, he was at Bama so they weren't dog crap, but let's not kid ourselves that Stroud didn't have the better supporting cast this past year, both at receiver and on the line. Recruiting rankings don't mean much if they aren't playing up to potential on the field.
  8. The argument could be made that Young had to rely on that element of his game because his supporting cast on the line was that much worse and he had to run around in order to survive. Both are capable of dropping back and passing. Both have shown the ability to scramble and extend plays, one just did so far more often than the other. I will say Young has a better feel/navigation in the pocket than Stroud though. Stroud has the stronger arm and throws a prettier ball.
  9. For real, I haven't watched ESPN for years at this point, and the moment I saw him on screen I was visibly shocked. Poor guy is looking rough as hell, didn't realize he has been battling cancer. Hope he pulls through.
  10. Yeah that was interesting to me too. They both have extremely good tape as well, so who knows? I'm good with either.
  11. 1. Bryce Young 2. CJ Stroud 3. Anthony Richardson 4. Will Levis 5. Hendon Hooker Says he's seen both CJ and Bryce play at the elite 11 right next to each other. Holds a ton of weight for him apparently. Says Stroud would have had to play the same way he did against Georgia every game to be considered on Young's level. Says Height is less of an issue than it was 15-20 years ago and Young should be fine in the pros. Also goes on to say that where they end up is a huge factor in determining how successful they will become, but as of now likes Young more for his ability to read the field and make high anticipatory throws more often than Stroud does.
  12. BOB had the most success of any former NE staffer by far. He is considered a fantastic offensive mind and great OC. As a HC, he was solid to good, more winning seasons and playoff appearances in 6 years in Houston than Rivera had in 9 here with us. Things went to poo the moment they fired their GM and gave him the keys to everything. The Hopkins deal was thought of as one of the worst in NFL history at the time it was made, and it only looks worse a few years out now. Jack Easterby is a charlatan that ran that franchise into the ground as he made a coup for the power.
  13. This way we have at least one pick in the first two rounds each year for the next 3 years, as opposed to no first or second next season. It'd be easier to trade back in 2025 to recoup a second than trade up into round 2 with limited resources next season. Honestly prefer it this way so we still have the chance to get some good players in the draft next season as opposed to waiting until pick 70 before drafting for the first time.
  14. The guys that came up with the test went to Vanderbilt. There's no indication that the football program of Vanderbilt actually utilizes it. Even if they did, they're not a powerhouse football program so they aren't picking from the deepest of talent pools.
  15. Agreed. Richardson's accuracy goes to crap at random, and it's not just because his footwork sucks like Allen's did. He just misses throws sometimes. That's an almost innate trait. Compare the accuracy next to Stroud who puts it on the money damn near every time and the athleticism doesn't make up for it. I'd still take Richardson over Levis, but still after both Stroud and Young. Some place like Seattle, or Detroit would be the perfect landing spot for Richardson.
  16. So sayeth Daniel Jeremiah: Looks like the video is blocked on the huddle but the link is timestamped at 36:04. The S2 Test was a topic of discussion a few weeks back from another thread I posted: Now Jeremiah is claiming that Young has the highest score this year and it's not public knowledge. Said Purdy had the highest score last year, Allen had the highest his draft, and Mahomes had the highest his draft. I believe Burrow had the highest his draft as well. I'd really love to know how Stroud did on that damn test, but the thread the other week said the entire class has amazing scores this year so who knows? Anyway, the more stuff like this I see the more I think we are going to draft Young, even though I lean slightly towards CJ myself but will be happy with either one.
  17. So he apparently was originally at Penn State but chose to transfer because he was stuck down the depth chart behind future NFL Guys like Pat Friermuth and wasn't getting the chance he thought he deserved. Transferred to Old Dominion and became the focal point of their offense after week 4. Went on to have over 700 receiving yards his junior year. Comes in his senior year ready to pop off but gets injured for the year. Big bummer. Based on the combine performance, he is completely healed. Could be a potential diamond in the rough TE Prospect. He's the kind of TE you take in the 3rd round and he blows up a few years later as one of the best in the league and people start questioning "Why'd he fall in the draft?" I'm down.
  18. Timestamped "This is quite literally one of the best workouts we've ever seen from an NFL Player at the Combine" "Zack Kuntz the athlete, should really only exist inside of Madden" "This is the highest upside TE prospect that has ever walked the earth just in terms of athletic potential."
  19. It's true, just look at the recent influx of new huddlers since we traded up to 1. It's weird. People staunchly in Stroud's camp seem to be overall condescending. People staunchly in Bryce's camp seem to have a cult-like mentality that he is the one true righteous QB. Then there's the rest of us that are just happy to be here.
  20. Uh huh. Big "I actually broke up with her" Vibes.
  21. Yeah but we didn't hire him because he's kind of an idiot.
  22. Been ahead of the game for years.
