@Verge last season I non-stopped asked you to be joking each time you listed young to the panthers. Now you got another 5'8 dwarf heading to the panthers for their first pick this year. Why must you hurt me.......

Getting Crunch Time for the Panthers and Brian Burns
Basbear replied to 45catfan's topic in Carolina Panthers
It is top 51 if you can read the far right figure. Only the picks 2,3,4 "count" and the signing bonus of 5 and 6 count. Well the yearly bonus rate. Its 4,116,387. Add in the signing bonus of UDFAs adds a few thousand. I think the limit is for SB UDFAs is 160,000 or it maybe 225,000. Rules change yearly I dont know what the current cap for them is. Still 4mill + 22mill = Not enough for anyone else, including injuries, PS, FAs. Ive always heard smart teams want at min 10-8mill for just in-season injuries. Thats why burns team holds the cards, team needs burns to do a couple favors and burns wants a couple million extra to help the panthers. heres the link- https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/carolina-panthers/cap/ 3/4 form the bottom, if youre having issues reading that pic I had. -
Getting Crunch Time for the Panthers and Brian Burns

I think sportac has the rookie cap number- 4.1 add another 2,000,000 or so for UDFAs. I think 2-5 should make this sorry-ass roster. -
Getting Crunch Time for the Panthers and Brian Burns

After the rams fumble, Burns side is holding a full house. They know the panthers valued him more than two future 1s and 2nd current. They also know the panthers current cap sits around 30. For burns to remain a panther he needs to do THEM a favor of signing a long term deal with a low cap number in the first. *Another deal is this- burns is 25 years old. Im betting his agent/team wants a 3 year or max 4 year deal so he can "cash" in another huge deal...which is rare for the NFL. I think the panthers want him to sign a 5-7 year deal with low cap numbers in the first couple. That doesnt seem to vibe with the idea of burns getting two big deals. So sad that the panthers are the worst team in the NFL with such poor cap space. Plus they are paying a rookie QB, terrible to be here. The sun does look better 100+ miillllllion better in 2025. -

The issue is not the number, welll its the number but its the cap number. the team has around 30 million in space. burns @ 22mill + rookie pool 5 mill = nothing but a couple mill for in-season injuries. im sure thats the biggest issue.....i take that back burns play is the true issue.... -

Locked on Panthers: Why the Panthers should pay Derrick Brown

off-season has started!!1!1!11!!! -
Jones has already said hes coming back to KC.

Hes either the best hire or 2nd, imo. As a whole I would put tilis above him, but offense-wise....goodwin maybe a bigger talent.

Pat is a great hire.

Last I heard about him his back was making him think of retiring,

Yea, this is wilks to me in simple terms- DB coach- Great DC- Awful HC- Average-below average Zona truly screwed him, but thats why soooo many coaches avoided that place for the last 20+ years. Bidwell is worse than tepper and Im sure wilks didnt draft rosen either. SF you or I could have coached that unit with success. Shame how he getting all this bad luck, but you need to make your own at some point. Facts are there are many great coaches that are great ST, DL, DB, QB, etc, but dont make good OC, DC or HC. I bet a top DB job pays a little over 1 million. Nothing wrong with being a great one of them and getting paid well.

wtf is this BS?? Love to have HC shanny here to "struggle" and "choke" in the SBs...

Honestly if not for daves size fetish, hed picked chris jones over "big" "&" "lazy" vernon butler. Panthers could have a winning record one of those bad years. The best DT after 99 was jones for years.

There must be a high demand for him, I doubt he stays with them. Owner HATES to pay any players.

Annual reminder that Panthers drafted this guy and then lost him
Basbear replied to NAS's topic in Carolina Panthers
Dave drafted him got fired days before TC. Marty held on at the seasons start and even gave him a roster spot for a couple weeks. Then cut and place on PS for a week or two. KCs kicker got a injury and he started making history. I believe at one point he was the highest rated kicker in NFL history (100 kicks min), yep higher than tucker. In a rare move with marty, I agree with keeping the vet gano over the rookie butker. Im fairly sure at the time gano had a stronger leg and this was the beginning of moving the kickoff closer. At the time panthers STs were awful at covering kicks and punts for that matter. I mean looking back at all the turnover and bad luck the panthers had since kasay, butker should have been the guy. But I think eddy is right there with him and my god do the panthers need a decent kicker with them having TD allergy....... wrong on some. -
So guys when do I replace dan??

In a deep qb class should the panther take one day 3?
Basbear replied to micnificent28's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yes. Countless examples. Just look at the SB for examples. Brock was drafted with trey lance(they traded 3 1s+ for) and starter jimmy. Andy reid made a career out of trading backup QBs(feely, kolb) for prime picks. Kirk cousin was drafted in the 4th in the same draft the wfters traded 3 1s for RGIII. If your trusted scouts have a 2nd round rank on player and hes still there in 5th, draft them no matter how you feel about the starter. NFL has a nearly 40% player turnover each year along with many injuries. The goal of the NFL is stock pile talent and it will work out. -
Any new hires or rumors??
