  1. Yeah looking at our cap this year, rookie has to be the way to go. We should have money cleared up over the next two years to sign better FAs to offset some of the picks we could lose. I’m leaning towards wanting the trade up to 3 and saving that 25 first and possibly 39 if all possibly. I’m thinking CMC picks, 9, plus 24 1st can get us to 3…
  2. https://www.pff.com/news/draft-nfl-mock-draft-mike-renner-sam-monson-mock-the-first-round-bryce-young-to-the-houston-texan-at-no-1-overall Here is an interesting one where Chicago swaps with Houston and we trade up to 3 for Stroud.
  3. Brissett had a decent year in 2019 under Reich. If we can get that kind of play from him while our rookie develops that would be great.
  4. Right? Makes you wonder why all these GMs and coaches show up to the combine. Why do players like Orlando Brown Jr drop? The game tape made hold MORE value as it should, but people want to see these guys up close, do interviews, and see what they can do from an athletic standpoint. We had Fitt, Morgan, Reich, and McCown all watching the QBs workout.
  5. You saw Levis fail to climb the pocket? I rarely saw a pocket that was available to climb. Kentucky’s offense was a shitshow from top to bottom so it was really hard to get a good read on him as a player. His 21 tape is pretty good and he actually led Kentucky to a good record and season. I don’t know what happened to that team in 22, but it was hard to watch at times…
  6. Yeah every time I was trying to watch Levis and judge him with my small amount of knowledge they were constantly running the ball because when they went to pass Levis just got pressured immediately (usually right side). Stroud definitely panicked under pressure, especially early in the season. As simple as it sounds I think it was because he just never really experienced it. He got a little better later in the year and looked solid against UGA. I’m hoping he kind of learned how to adapt under pressure. He is typically a rhythm/timing passer so he is going to have to learn/adapt to plays breaking down as it’s way more common in the NFL. I do think we have the staff to help him develop there. Jumping to 3 makes a lot of sense to me. If Stroud and Young are gone we can take our pick of AR/Levis.
  7. Darnold had plenty of talent around him at USC. Levis had very little, bad OCs, and was playing injured. It’s really hard to compare the two. Physically Darnold was a good QB, he just has trouble with the mental aspect of the game. Hopefully Reich and co will be able to inquire how mentally ready Levis is.
  8. I have nothing against Levis. Prefer AR because he just seems like the younger higher ceiling version of Levis. Levis should have a higher floor though and if that’s who our staff targets I’m all good with it. Hopefully they will turn him into Josh Allen 2.0
  9. Agreed. Hope they settle it out. I think having Lamar happily playing is good for the league.
  10. I see the options and ultimately think a long term deal will be reached like that tweet you posted earlier. It won’t be Watson money (as no contract should), but it should be Carr or higher minimum.
  11. Yeah both rosters were bad. Hell Florida lost 30-3 to Oregon St in the bowl game AR didn’t play in. Putting up 3 against a PAC-12 defense is pathetic and they didn’t get the 3 until the 4th when the subs were probably in…
  12. It’s very early, but assuming Lamar had no power or control in the situation seems a bit naive… Letting teammates down can be used on every top QB pick that sits out his bowl game. They have to make career choices as well. Imagine a company not paying you what you are worth and asking you not to let your coworkers down and to continue working.
  13. I think the “ouch my finger” route isn’t that simple. Most players have injuries they play through throughout the season. He isn’t going to risk any further injury without some sort of guarantee (longer term contract more money etc…). You mentioned language in the contract??? I dare any NFL team to write up a contract saying the player will play through “mild” injuries. That’s a damn lawsuit waiting to happen with this whole player safety movement going on. Just like CMC never finished a “healthy” season during our previous two 5 win seasons, but magically made it all year on a team in the playoffs in San Francisco. You are going to have a hard time making a player play through any minor injury. Though it wasn’t minor, Jackson pretty much did this the last game of the season and had teammates upset about it. Why would he risk further injuring his body with there is no financial protection? I’ll say it again just like I did to Sizzle over and over again. Strong arming the locker room leader/QB of the team is not very good business.
  14. I agree that Levis had the worst supporting cast and some terrible OCs. Kentucky’s RT was one of the worst I’ve watched. Watch out when looking at just sacks though because AR was the best in college at avoiding sacks. I still think Levis had a much worse OL, but it’s just something to consider.
  15. I mean even if he chooses not to sit he will make 30 plus million to play QB and if he gets banged up at all he won’t play through it just like last year. Having your star QB/locker room leader pissed at your franchise is bad business….
  16. I get it, but he ultimately got what he wanted. Rodgers also was missing camp and got what he wanted from GB. Players still have more control that people think. SizzleBuzz refused to believe it as we all watched Watson strong arm the whole Texans organization even through all his legal issues and walk away rich.
  17. He got traded to a team of his choice still after his legal issues and still got a poo ton of guaranteed money?
  18. He didn't look bad his last couple games. Give him an OL and a decent defense and it will be interesting to see how he develops....
  19. It's should be coming next season (assuming we don't push this year's into next). It's why we are in a great spot to draft a rookie QB. Solid young OL, great staff, young defensive talent, and a lot of space next year to build a great roster around the rookie while he is on his rookie contract.
  20. Depending on what we give up 3 for AR or Levis isn't the end of the world if our staff is high on either one.
