Come on now. The NFL Hall of Fame? I see where he made college football and Canadian Football.... Would you be happy if our number one pick made the Canadian Football Hall of Fame??? I also don't think he was one of the best in his generation or he would be in the NFL Hall of Fame. You are seeing the "pound for pound" quote by Madden which is really just referring to his height and toughness. NFL accomplishments are what we are looking for in the top pick.

He was successful financially, but was he successful as a starting QB?

It doesn't, but it's less pressure and an easier read for him. It's not a negative, but definitely a question mark.

That points to Stroud (who is who I want). I'm just looking at the timing of the trade...

I just don't see the move to 1 and giving up what we did for Levis who is a bit of a gamble himself. You either get the highest floor (Stroud) and have a solid possibly great QB for a while or you gamble on the highest ceiling (AR) which I would advise against, but see the logic kind of. Maybe we are just that confident in our staff?

Something makes me think it's Stroud unless AR can some how convince them he is worth the risk. It just happened so close to the combine, but what do I know.

They should just use Trask for that. Baker is going to make them just miss out on Williams.

Chark and Campbell seem similar. Health issues, but are good and fast when healthy. Either one will work.

I would imagine Ryan didn't have enough time to throw him deep passes with that OL.

Our OL, top draft QB, Campbell, Theilen, Hurst, pick 39 (Wr/TE), plus Williams/Foreman could be a nice offense. Especially with our staff...

Oh I was just guessing. With Hurst, Tremble, and possibly a rookie he seemed expendable. However his contract is probably going to prevent that. I’m not sure we draft one now. That TE room would be pretty crowded…

If we draft one, I'm not sure it will be with an early pick now. QB at 1 and probably WR at 39. Third will probably look at defense. We will probably add RB/OL depth in the 4/5 rounds. It looks like Thomas is stuck on our roster due to his dumb contract so it's Hurst, Tremble, Thomas as the main TEs. Maybe Reich and co can have Thomas and Tremble looking better?
