  1. I'm being serious. The GM kind of took a back seat and Taylor is the one talking about drafting Burrow and how he was their guy from the beginning and they have no regrets in taking him over Herbert. If he doesn't have full roster control he was a huge input. I'll give the man credit for building a solid roster.
  2. The Falcons OC seems to be getting a lot our of very little talent.
  3. Does he have roster control? I wasn’t aware of that and assumed the GM built this team for him. Yeah he was running a “predictable” and “boring” offense which can lead to TOs. If he built that roster than it’s impressive, but Burrow getting sacked 9 times in a playoff game and securing a win says way more about the player than the HC to me. His DC also called some great games in the playoffs and he did hire him, so I will give him some credit for that.
  4. Mac is just mad the offense hadn’t missed a beat without him.
  5. 16-32-1 is good for you? Yeah we have different options. https://fansided.com/2022/10/09/zac-taylor-roasted-fourth-down-bengals-ravens-memes-tweets/amp/ https://www.cincyjungle.com/platform/amp/2022/9/18/23360100/zac-taylor-bengals-twitter-dallas-cowboys-cincinnati-2022-social-media-recap https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/nfl-hot-seat-rankings-commanders-ron-rivera-headlines-11-coaches-under-fire-entering-week-6/amp/ He has already taken heat this season. He has Burrow, Mixon, Chase, and Higgins. That should be the top offense in the league. He was on the hot seat list just last week. I will say they are looking better the past couple games.
  6. That’s fair, but a good coach with Dalton would produce a much better offense than what we are seeing now. I honestly think any of the big 3 can play sooner vs later. Young, Levis, and Stroud all have pro style offense and go through progressions pretty well.
  7. Competitive is all I'm saying. Not playoffs, not Super Bowl just a team that can hang with your average teams and beat the bad ones. It's definitely not out of the realm of possibilities next season. Just need to land the right HC first then draft the right QB.
  8. All true, but with that it can still be a much cleaner, competitive product that what we are seeing this year. With our OL locked in, CMC, plus some young core defensive players we can expect a decent product once the new coach's system gets in place. I mean hell if we can throw for a couple first downs in the first half we might have won some of these early games.
  9. Yup. Elite QBs can carry bad HCs to the Super Bowl. Look no further than Cam and Ron. We only have had one team beat us by more than 2 possessions this year. I just think Rhule was that bad of a coach that a new competent will show some growth. I also think better QB play will come with a new OC/HC and top rookie than McAdoo and Baker/PJ. Maybe you are higher on those guys than me. That's your opinion though. Adding players to teams would be assuming every team is getting better every year when we know that is not the case. I think our same roster plus a new HC and QB will make us significantly better, which can jump us from bottom of the league to mid/low middle.
  10. I agree with all of that. All I said is if we get a decent QB and HC we can be competitive (which I explained means beat shitty teams and hang with average ones). Do you not agree? It will take another year at least plus 24’s cap space to put our roster over the edge.
  11. Once again I don't think they will be a playoff team next year. Just competitive IF they get the right coach and QB in the draft. Burrow had the Bengals team more competitive of his 7 losses 4 were by less than a TD and they tied the Eagles, beat the Jags (bad team), and the Titans (good team) before his injury. His defense gave up 35 to Cleveland, 31 to the Colts, and 37 to Cleveland in his 7 losses as well. All of this with a BAD HC. So like I said we CAN be competitive (not a playoff team) next year IF we land a GOOD HC and good QB to add to our roster. It's a big IF, but I think our defense and OL is ready for it.
  12. Burrow was 65% completion rate with 13 TDs to 5 INTs before he was injured his rookie year. His team had no defense and no OL. I feel we have a capable version of both. I'm looking at the play of these rookie QBs and putting them on our roster. Does rookie Burrow beat NYG and Cleveland for us? Absolutely. 3-3 would be competitive vs 1-5 which is bottom of the league. I'm saying we don't need a roster overhaul if we can land a decent rookie with our coach. Our QB play has been so terrible it has crippled this team. Just upgrading that alone can have us beating the bad teams. Hell we beat the Saints with poo at the position. Yeah the BIlls would crush us. When I say we can be "competitive" next year that means we can beat the bad teams and hang with the average. We still would have a way to go before going toe to toe with the Bills/Chiefs etc... Our cap sucks next year but we have most of our young core locked in except Burns which could actually help next year's cap, but hurt the following years. Put a rookie QB behind a solid young OL with a decent defense and you have a good start for the next HC IMO. @mrcompletely11is liking your realistic view, but he himself has said our roster is 2 years away from the playoffs. That would require some growth next year as well to get there.
  13. I’m not wanting to do any restructures if possibly. Trade Shaq (if you can) and extend Burns to a lower hit. This year will be about getting our rookie and HC acclimated and next year should look better for FA spending to plug around our new QB.
  14. Which rookies came out playing well? Baker Mayfield, Mac Jones, Kyler Murray, Joe Burrow, Cam Newton just off the top of my head. Listen, I'm not saying that Stroud or whoever will be a pro bowler right away just better than dead last in the league and the performances Baker and Co have put out this year with McAdoo. It's a pretty low bar... Yeah they beat the Bucs who really haven't beast anyone aside from Dallas early in week 1. Talking about who has been who in week 6 is premature anyway. My point in comparing the point differential is we aren't far off from being competitive. I used your team as an example because they always are competitive. (I'm also not convinced you aren't a closet Panther's fan). My point is we have hung around with several teams. Our defense wears down because our offense is a complete mess. We can't even get the ball to our WRs right now to see how good they are. Do you really think if we replaced Rhule/McAdoo with a decent coach and Baker/Darnold with a talented rookie we would still lose to Cleveland, and NYG? Both games were lost by a FG. It's perfectly logical to think if we upgrade our QB and HC next year we can be competitive. Will we have some holes on our roster still? Yes, but a majority of the NFL does.
  15. That's a big point. Our offense has been so incompetent it's hard for us to gage how good these young players like TMJ, Tremble, Shi and others can be. I mean DJ with a capable QB/OC would be interesting to see in itself.
  16. I'm only ok if we get a good return. First round plus. We will need CMC to help with a rookie QB's growing pains.
  17. The Jags already had the most important position correct. So we will go from the 32nd ranked QB in the 32nd ranked offense to the top ranked rookie QB behind a solid ranked OL with a top RB and (hopefully) a huge upgrade at HC. Our defense is good enough to compete as is. Horn, Chinn, Burns, and Brown are a solid young foundation that should be better as the get older and better coaching. You act like we are getting blown out. The Niners gave it to us, but we hung around with everyone else. You don't think an upgrade at QB (the most important position in sports) and HC could have changed the outcome in those games? Hell our point differential is better than your steelers with their HoF coach.
  18. Yes something is clearing wrong. We have the worst staff in the league and our QB situation is terrible to go along with it. The Jags were the worst team last year WITH a decent young QB because their coach was that bad. Just a new coach has them competitive again. Yeah they are 2-4 but they are playing teams much closer. Give us a competent QB AND HC and we should see a decent improvement in that alone. Again we won't be top of the league, but at least competitive again.
  19. Honestly the reaction means he struck a nerve. Robbie is a Cardinal now and should be focused on that and building a relationship with Murray, not what a former player on his former team is saying on a podcast…
  20. We have a good young OL, a top RB, a top pass rusher, a shut down CB, plus Brown is making a big jump this year. That’s a great start for a rookie QB to work with plus players like Moore, DJax, Shaq, Chinn and Woods who are better than average. Our roster is young and will play even better with some real coaching.
  21. Shaq would relieve some cap next year I believe? We need to see what Brandon Smith can do…
  22. Most teams aren’t going to have complete rosters. The hope is that our new coach can get the best out of our JAGs like the new coach is doing in NYG. Hopefully we draft a QB in the first which can immediately upgrade our offense from this poo show. We need players like Brandon Smith, TMJ, Shi Smith, YGM, Tremble, Thomas etc to player better with a coach that can play them to their strengths. We obviously aren’t jumping from worst to first, but hopefully can get to be competitive again next year.
