Better hurry. Rich guys don’t like it when their caddie is late… -
Another Manic Monday?

"FIRE RHULE" CLAP CLAP CLAP CLAP CLAP

If we keep Rhule (it sounds like we will) I really hope he gets some qualified assistants and listens to them… Roster control needs to be out of his hands as well. I just don’t understand the 3rd year guarantee nonsense…. -
Trade out of 6 or trade away a player instead?
ForJimmy replied to Reebis21's topic in Carolina Panthers
We need a new coach to use CMC correctly and not overuse him. Give him more time in the slot with Hubbard in the backfield and try to extend his shelf life since he is basically untradeable. The player with the most trade value is probably Burns, but I would trade him unless we extend Reddick (which I’m leaning towards rolling with YGM and Burns while using our cap space on OL) Trading down makes the most sense if we get a good offer and stay in the top half of the draft. -
Aren’t our tackles a 2nd and 3rd?
-
No one offered enough that we were know of. That’s really not his point though. He is saying if someone was willing we could have dropped several spots and still got a player similar to Sewell plus a return. It’s all hypothetical because our dumb staff wasn’t interested in Slater and really wanted Horn…
-
Slater was picked several picks below us. If someone wanted our pick in that range for Fields/Mac then then we have traded down and still had Slater available. That’s all he is saying.
-
But if you beef of the OL and try to get a team “ready” for a rookie QB, you would think we would win some games. He is averaging 5 wins a year with a terrible OL.
-
A productive starter at pick 6 isn’t a good thing, plus your sample size is going to be very small. You have 6 years with only the top half and only OL with the jury being open somewhat on these past two years. If Slater gets injured and can’t bounce back he will be considered a bust (for example) is Bectum in NYJ considers a bust with his injuries and where he was drafted? https://theriotreport.com/bust-alert-choose-wisely-when-drafting-an-offensive-lineman/ There is an article the Riot write about drafting OL and how it can still be a risk from 2019.
-
People on here acting like OL can’t be busts as well while we are rocking a 1st rounder in Erving who is replacing a former first rounder (several years later) Matt Kalil. If we draft a top LT without trading down just know next season might look very similar to our past couple games (rookie LT playing solid, but teams just blitzing Darnold up the middle). I’m ok with us taking one, but the following year may be terrible. I really want a new coach and trade down….
-
Yep and this year was suppose to be Howell and Rattler at 1 and 2. Banking on next year is risky, plus we have no idea where we will be picking…

Brady Christensen scores highest ratings of the season at LT again.

I’m sure you did because you have been wanting a LT this whole time (understandably so), but the actual data aside from your eye test disagrees. I have no problem drafting Neal/Cross if we can’t trade down. I think we can slide BC over to LG while serving as a backup LT. LT is possibly the 2nd most important position outside of the QB. It’s the same reason I wanted Fields last year even after we traded for Darnold. Having several options until you have a solidified starter at one of these premier positions never hurts. One can always be flipped for trade capital like the Ravens did with Brown if they both look like great LTs. -

Why would you think he isn’t? He is basically a question mark that has looked promising in his little playing time despite terrible coaching. -
Report: Harbaugh might be tempted to go back to NFL
ForJimmy replied to SuperBowlBound's topic in Carolina Panthers
https://www.nbcbayarea.com/news/local/niners-still-haunted-by-jim-harbaugh-mistake/13084/?amp It was the relationship he had with the owners. It was dumb to force him out over their egos. He knows so to win was had the Niners playing better than Wonderboy Kyle is now. -
I’m ok with Baker, but I’m not wanting to trade for him. If he is cut I’m good with offering him a contract. The trade capital would have to be very minimal as in similar to how the Broncos got Teddy.
-
I’m so jealous of Bengal fans right now. Burrow/Chase is the best young combo in the league. Higgins and Mixon are just not fair and they still haven’t fully addressed their OL yet.

I hope they don’t try to get cute and mix it up like this. Moton is a great RT and ok LT. I’m not a fan of drafting a RT at 6 that might be an upgrade over Moton and then playing Moton out of position. If we draft Neal he needs to be our LT and hopefully a great one. LT Neal, LG BC, RT Moton would he a good core with a FA G/C plus late rounder to compete with Brown. -
Panthers have to “make a true investment” in the OL
ForJimmy replied to ncfan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Says the man who sighed Erving and Elf early in free agency. Should have combined that money for a premier G like Thuney… -
Seriously! At least he (in theory) would get better over time. These are terrible vets who are falling over and tumbling into players trying to block…
-
My dream scenario would be trading down to acquire a 2nd while still landing Tyler L from Iowa. Then we could grab Howell/Strong in the 2nd. This gives us a young talented QB plus a OL core of BC, TL, and TM. Grab a vet G in FA plus late round draft pick and our line should be much better.

I think Hubbard might be a useful player in a real offense
ForJimmy replied to electro's horse's topic in Carolina Panthers
He has definitely flashed potential, even with this sad excuse for a coaching staff around him. Get a coach that knows what he is doing and he can be a solid player IMO.
