  1. So 14:50 is where he attempts he deep pass to Chark to those who are interested. He has to rush it because he OG is worthless and gets hit at the end of his motion. However it was an overthrow by about 4-5 yards. If he could have held it for one more split second it would have been nice. This tells me he is capable of hitting deep throws, he needs a decent interior OL to do it regularly, but the arm talent to get the ball there was fine just rushed it causing an overthrow.
  2. I'm ok with Teddy for a rookie through the first 5 games, but he and our offense needs to progress past it. Let's hope Brown can get our whole offense more aggressive and Young some looks down the field for him to take.
  3. To your point https://www.si.com/nfl/panthers/gm-report/what-will-the-panthers-offense-look-like-under-thomas-brown "I have a ton of respect for Sean McVay," said Brown. "He's one of the best and brightest minds I've ever been a part of but we are different. How we see the game and activate the game will be different, but I've definitely learned about how you attack defenses using formation variation, formation marriage, and motion adjustments so that'll continue to be a part of what we do moving forward.
  4. That only makes me feel better. He can draw up some of his plays for them during the bye week. The whole zone blocking OL is from the McVay tree though, which is something Brown would probably imitate.
  5. We definitely need an energy boost. Reich and Young are a bad pairing for that. If Brown can fire up Young and get our offense playing inspired football I’ll be intrigued.
  6. Brown apparently created the whole system with Reich.
  7. This is good news. Several feel like Reich preferred Carr or Stroud, so now we have an OC calling his plays with the QB he wanted.
  8. Icky did great at pass blocking but bad at run blocking?? What is going on here?!
  9. OK this is a little bit comical as well... So people are critiquing Young's passing chart and rightfully so but they can't look at other QB's charts for comparison? He needs to connect on some big passes, I will say on his one deep attempt he was hit and couldn't throw a good pass due to it, so OL is absolutely part of the issue. On the counter Howell might have a worse OL and he manages to connect on several of those deep passes (he also has a cannon for an arm which helps). We need to continue to attempt 2 plus deep ones a game and hopefully connect on several. I think everyone agrees on that.
  10. I think the point is a couple deep shots a game (especially if they are close) makes the defense have to respect it, because if they don't that's a TD. It's something we can incorporate with Young. We need a running game and a nice PA bootleg deep to Chark would be nice since our guards are struggling in pass protection.
  11. That makes waaaaay more sense if true. Whenever I watch him play he is running for his life like he did his last year in college. So "pocket time" is kind of a dumb measurement which can look better if your QB is more mobile.
  12. True. You have to keep the defense honest.
  13. Actually not at all. It’s weird that he has MORE pocket time and way more sacks. To be clear I like Howell and was for us drafting him. Those stats were just odd to me.
  14. According to the data Howell has more pocket time on average though. That’s what’s weird?
  15. He has a great deep ball but those numbers pulled by @BrianS were eye opening. He has been sacked 34 times with an average pocket time of 2.5 seconds. That’s just mind boggling to me..
  16. We are waaaaay ahead of ourselves but it would probably be Reich "stepping down" or retiring maybe with some office job with the Panthers. Parks Frazier or Deuce Staley could become OC under Brown.
  17. If Tepper is micromanaging as much as we say he is on here Frank will just resign and I wouldn't blame him. I'm not saying it's wrong, but if Tepper MADE Frank draft Young and is dictating who calls the plays, no one can operate like that.
  18. That was my fault. He posted CBs and I read it as secondary. Yeah like looks like we have 33 players plus 6 draft picks so 39 with 63 plus cap space plus 151 plus cap space in 25 to work with.
  19. At least we have some cap space to spend for a change. I wouldn't be against extended YGM for cheap if he is willing. He has shown some potential this year. Both Woods and Bell being gone stings definitely. Our CBs outside of Horn are mostly practice squad players (Hill might be a good cheap extension/resign). I feel like we signed a bunch of rentals this year intentionally knowing we will have some space in 2024. I mean we are the only winless team right now, and there isn't many players we really need to bring back.
