  1. The Appaloosa Model backs this theory.
  2. To me Teddy was still playing like a backup. Quick passes and check down passes to try to not lose the game. Solidified starters have to take risks and trust their teammates to do their jobs. His arm being somewhat limited is part of it, but part of it is the mental aspect of trying to play it safe. Later in the season we had nothing to lose (were out of the playoff race) and he still kept it dialed in during the 4th quarter when we were down. Unless he can change his mindset he will always be a great backup and below average starter.
  3. What’s a left tackle? Do teams still use those?
  4. 2-2 sounds reasonable with wins over the Texans and Jets. If we can beat Dallas or NO early then we should be in for a good season.
  5. They also didn’t practice throwing to an open DJ Moore enough..... Practice was mainly check downs and goal line fumbles on QB sneaks.
  6. Exactly. This is a sports message board, there will be PLENTY of knee jerk reactions. I wouldn’t give it a second thought.
  7. Man you are like 6-7 posts behind Gooby! Keep up! Everything you just posted was already addressed/debated... Such a Gooby!
  8. Yeah makes way more sense. I was thinking there is no way someone else can be high on this Jets team not naked Gooby!
  9. Are you serious? Damn it. I don’t necessarily think he will be a star. I wanted Justin Fields personally. I just think he is still a very much unknown because few QBs would have been successful in his situation. His turnovers are a major concern. We may actually have similar views on this the whole time... The other poster Gooby was praising Bowles/Gase and the talent around him stating he was the reason they were terrible. I felt a need to defend him for that.
  10. https://www.google.com/amp/s/247sports.com/Article/Mel-Kiper-Sam-Darnold-trade-tremendous-move-for-Carolina-Panthers-New-York-Jets-163786073/Amp/ https://www.google.com/amp/s/jetswire.usatoday.com/2021/04/16/ryan-kalil-adam-gases-system-hurt-sam-darnold-other-jets/amp/ https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.si.com/nfl/panthers/.amp/gm-report/mcshay-kiper-riddick-believe-sam-darnold-is-finally-in-position-to-succeed There is some context by analyst who get paid to do this kind of thing. There is a trend here... Any of them stating Darnold had a good coach/talent around him and he is the reason the Jets were so bad? Let me know when you find any.
  11. I was surprised to read the headline. Post did not disappoint!
  12. Zero wins without the player you think is the issue. Zero. Go read the reactions to the Jets depth chart on Mr Scott’s thread. It will help open your stubbornly closed eyes...
  13. Gase’s Jets team in winless without Darnold, yet he is the problem? Anderson thriving in Carolina is another example of a player doing better once leaving Gase. Where is Gase now?
  14. That’s fair. I think the thought process is his price came down once no teams were showing interest, but yeah that’s speculation. It’s hard to say his actions did not decrease his value originally, which is sad if true.
  15. You can’t use stats. Fine. Darnold is the best QB in the league. Convince me otherwise without using any sort of stats. Gase was the coach. He struggles to use players correctly/put them in a position to succeed. That’s why they cut Bell, that’s why Tannehiil thrived when he left Gase, it’s why the Dolphins are getting better every year now that he left Miami. Blaming a young QB for the struggles the Jets have had is a stretch. They were struggling before they drafted Darnold and the coach could always bench him, especially if his job was on the line. The fact still remains the Jets were winless without Darnold playing these past three years so it’s clearly not solely on him.
  16. So it was while he was still employed and making more money. That would mean he wasn’t blackballed or released yet. That following year is when it got bad. https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2017/05/11/the-colin-kaepernick-alternative-facts-continue-to-percolate/ 2017 is when the fake excuses started being made. There is a list of them. So did he turn down the Broncos job? Yes in 2016. He was still under contract for the Niners and was going to make more guaranteed even if they released him which they did. The following year teams wouldn’t even bring him in for a workout.
  17. That article stats he would make more being released. It was when he was still under contract before he was blackballed.
  18. I believe that happened years after he was blackballed. I do remember that happening, but maybe he was making more at that point outside of football than what was offered. I agree though, if he wanted an opportunity he was offered one. It was just several years later once a large portion of players started kneeling too.
  19. It is and it isn’t. Kaepernick was a solid QB in the right system (took his team to the Super Bowl) and still better than a few starters and most backups when he was black balled from the league. The Golden Calf of Bristol just wasn’t an NFL QB and didn’t want to try another position. IMO The Golden Calf of Bristol simply wasn’t good enough and Kap was blackballed for taking a stance. Kap has the skills/ability to be in the league and should have been the past however many years, The Golden Calf of Bristol.... maybe as another position.
  20. Right? I don’t understand him and the Gooby guy defending the Jets?? He knows his stuff too, it’s just mind boggling to me...
  21. I believe in a thing called love!
