Official 2025 NHL Playoffs Thread
PleaseCutStewart replied to Panthers Fan 69's topic in Carolina Hurricanes
Pumped to see Dallas get poo on by Colorado. The sad thing is.. I actually liked Dallas and rooting for them. I just can't now as long as that POS rantanen is on their team. I hope Dallas gets swept -
Yeah, I honestly think when something like this happens (reckless driving that leads to death or serious injury), the person should lose their license for life; I don't care if you are 18 or 60. If they are then caught driving afterwards, mandatory jail time. I don't think throwing the book at someone (i.e., many years in jail) for a first time offense for something like this is the answer. However, driving, like many things, is a privilege and it should 100% be lost when anybody does something stupid like this.

While it's awful he ended his life, I'm glad he didn't end up killing anybody else driving his car. Very scary he shot himself while he was still driving the car and I'm glad he didn't hit another car after he did it. Not sure what is up with all of these SEC players and driving insanely high speeds in cars. I feel like Georgia has about 5 arrests/year with dudes driving over 100 on a highway

Well, if they get their shitty games out of the way now and play like Rockstars in the playoffs, I guess that will work

As of today, who would you draft at number 8?

I like your thinking - I'm all for Campbell also -

I hope your right -
I listened to the 3rd period in the radio - how cool were the fights?

I'll be surprised if he isn't taken in the early 10s at the latest. Guy gives me Luke vibes in the fact that he can pretty much do it all. If he is as smart as Luke and can figure out other teams plays before they call it themselves, then I will cry happy tears if we draft him -
Canales interview on pick at 8
PleaseCutStewart replied to raleigh-panther's topic in Carolina Panthers
Was it a her? I honestly didn't look much at the original post outside of the person trying to get our draft planned from Canales -
Let's hear it - who would y'all draft at number 8 assuming we couldn't trade back for good value and the following players are guaranteed gone: ward, Carter, hunter, Graham. It will probably sound crazy, but I would like it if we drafted jihaad Campbell. I think this guy will be an elite linebacker that can stop the run, cover most running backs and tight ends, and be solid at the pass rush. I feel like he is a much safer pick than most of the edge guys projected to us. I'm also not sold on Tet and don't want to waste the top 10 pick on a tight end unless Brock Bowers magically reappeared in this draft

I wished Canales would have trolled him and just said we're taking a kicker in the first round -
Panthers sign Jaycee Horn to $100 million dollar deal

Just like you think and don't know... Anyways, this is a pretty pointless back and forth. Hopefully Horn stays healthy so we don't have to regret this contract -

Someone would have leaked it if they were working on a contract last year. Not a peep from anyone tells me that they didn't, and I get it. Panthers didn't want to give out a new contract if he got hurt last year and Horn was banking on staying healthy last year so he could get Surtain level money. I think both sides just played a shut up and wait and see approach. It worked out for Horn -

You think an NFL team would give him a 4 year, $60 million contract if Horn played less than half of the team's games in 4 consecutive seasons due to injury? I don't think a team would even offer him a 1 year, $15 million contract unless very little of it was guaranteed and/or it was filled with injury clauses -

If he had gotten hurt for the year last season, dude is playing on the club option 5th year or getting offered a cheap multi-year contract. If he gets hurt the club option year, he will be getting closer to vet minimum since he proved he couldn't stay healthy 4 consecutive seasons. Just saying that it wasn't crazy to offer him last offseason and see how close they could get on numbers. Now we paid a dude that has maybe played in 50% of our games a $100 million contract.... The dude isn't getting 15 million open market on 3 consecutive injury-riddled seasons. And just because his dad has money doesn't mean he has money... -

With the rate he was getting injured, wouldn't have been the worst decision for him to accept a 4 year, $60ish million contract for financial security -

Should have resigned him last offseason while his value was at an all-time low... -
While I agree, this team has not played well the past month while other teams got better. We are at best a 1 and done playoff team
-
He realized nobody was paying him the 15 million he wanted and wanted to go to a safe team like Dallas where other dudes could carry him like MacKinnon did while avoiding taxes
-
26 won't matter because Dallas won't be a bottom 10 team. I doubt they are in 28 also. Don't think that will have much of an impact
-
I don't wish injury upon many athletes, but I definitely won't shed a single tear if mikko tears his acl first game for Dallas
