  1. 7-10?? 6-11 honestly might get it - having six games against the other NFC South teams really screwed over our tanking plans...
  2. Yeah, that's how he looked to me in the 2 games of his I watched. Granted, the Kentucky oline is not very good.
  3. Definitely a lesser extent than the likes of cardale Jones and Haskins, but it was still mostly a one read, read option offense. CJ Stroud has honestly been one of the more impressive passers I've seen in college football in a while.
  4. As someone who has opposed pretty much every Ohio St. QB and wanted no part of Fields, Stroud is not like the rest of them. Most of the rest of them were run first QBs and relied on the read option. Stroud is not that. I haven't watched much of Ohio St. this year, but watching him last year, the dude was just dropping dimes to his wide receivers. He has unbelievable finesse/touch on his post & corner passes and is able to thread the needle into a small window. I think he is mobile enough and has good pocket presence to avoid sacks at a decent rate. I know Ohio St. has good WRs, but I think this year's cast doesn't even come close to the talent that was there last year. Olave, Wilson, and Smith-Nijgba is probably one of the best receiving groups on the same team I can recall in college football. I don't know enough about Levis and haven't been super impressed in the games I have seen him play, but I would be pretty shocked if Young goes ahead of Stroud, barring some type of injury to Stroud.
  5. Are we sure a lower PFF scores doesn't equate to a better performance? I'm trying to figure out how the PFF grades are so bad for our defense when they held the Bucs to 3 points and shut them down in the run game...
  6. Teams wouldn't put their best corner on CMC unless they want to have a mismatch with a team's #1 WR vs. their #2 or worse. And those routes you mentioned are pretty much the core of the routes you run for a WR, with the exception of a post/corner, curl, and go route (which is very difficult to do from the backfield). When he actually got the chance, CMC was pretty much uncoverable by safeties/LBs when he ran the option route of an out in the flats or an angle route. I think the only thing that would have me concerned with having him line up on the LOS is if he can get by press coverage (snapping the ball with him in motion minimizes that risk).
  7. Fair enough, although I think he benefited from Sean Payton's scheme's clever screens a ton. I don't think he has the route running ability of either CMC or Ekeler, but he has good hands and is hard to tackle in space.
  8. The difference is CMC can line up in the backfield, out wide, or in the slot and not be covered by most safeties or linebackers. Robinson can only line up in the backfield and catch screens and swing passes. CMC is truly a rare breed in that he honestly has the route running tree of a WR, but has the elite running ability of a RB. While there have been some great receiving RBs like Darren Sproles & James White, none of them have been elite running RBs also. Austin Ekeler is the only current RB I can think of that has a similar skill set to CMC. The question would be what do we think the Chargers would get if they traded away Ekeler. I would imagine a similar package (probably better if his contact isn't as bad). I don't think people understand how terribly utilized CMC was for us while he was here. I would honestly have run 2 RB formations a fair amount, motioned him into the slot or iso on one side of the field, and done run/pass option based on the defensive alignment. We unfortunately have had incompetent OCs the past 5 years that have severely wasted his talent (much like the bum OCs Cam was stuck with)
  9. I'd be good with making Wilks our DC (and team motivator), but we need an offensive-oriented head coach. Clearly the players respect and listen to Wilks based off of their effort from last Sunday. Hopefully Wilks would be good with staying on as DC, since I don't see any other team being interested in hiring him as head coach.
  10. Well, if we go 6-0 against our division and 0-11 against everyone else, we may still win the division
  11. I didn't realize how awful Tampa's run D is. I thought that was something they were elite at
  12. We badly need the refs to start bailing out Tampa ASAP
  13. So the Eagles can trade pick #3 to a desperate QB team, Wash will lose, LOL at Detroit getting 6 wins. We have a better chance of getting 6 wins than they do
  14. Man, Detroit knows how to tank. RB just intentionally fumbled it at Dallas' 1 yard line.
  15. Well, Det, Hou, NO, and Wash all need one. We will be picking behind all 4 of them now
  16. Can't believe we just fuged up our chances for a franchise QB... I swear this fuging franchise can't do anything right
  17. Because I want a franchise QB; not another Matt Corral
  18. What's the record for most punts in a game?? This game has to be threatening the record
  19. I think if you were to ask the locker room about Henry Anderson, I don't think any of them would know who the hell you are talking about... While Henry Anderson is sitting in the locker room
