Normally I would agree, but remember, we are extremely cap poor this year and the last thing we need to do...ESPECIALLY with a new staff and club not contending is go out and blow a lot of money we don't have.
-
I'm great with that and in a slight trade back too. We need more picks. As much as I like Mayer, #9 is a little high for him in terms of value.
-
Yeah, about that. I know they will toy with the numbers some, but re-signing Bozeman, probably Sam, Eddy, Foreman and a few other role players to keep in house is going to leave us with very little for outside FAs. Remember we have only about $1M in cap and (-$14M) in effective cap.

Good approach, but we don't have 11 picks every draft to re-draft every position. At some point the evaluators have to hit their mark. We don't have enough picks THIS draft to fill all the holes we have, let alone re-draft for current positions where there isn't a hole.
-
We have to come away with MINIMUM a vertical threat TE, WR and RB on the offensive side. Not sexy but, DE, ILB and FS on the defensive side. That's about the entire draft. The very reason I want to TRADE BACK a time or two to pick up 2-3 more picks. We simply do not have enough to fill what we need. Still should get another LB (super thin now), slot WR, IOL and possibly a nickle corner. Can't get all that in 7 picks.

The only thing a about Johnston is he's a long-strider, kind takes him a second to get to top end speed.

Smaller and injured. Not a combination I am thrilled with.

You all might want to see your potential first round WR play tonight. I want to see how he plays versus that Georgia secondary.

Take out the NO game and Sam was like 61%. He had a bad game, every QB does. Bingo, Corral hasn't played an NFL snap. The unknown is always better, right? What if *gasp* Corral sucks? The Huddle has this fantasy with projecting players to be the next best thing--until they are not. Corral is likely to either be okay or suck. The margin is slim for him to be good-to-great. But hey, put him a pedestal before he takes his first regular season snap...it's what the Huddle does and what makes the vitriol so bad regarding players. Just because you build them up and they don't live up to your expectations resulting in slamming of the players after the fact. I'm good with Corral starting next year, but we better have a backup--well you know--if one is eventually 'required' in a benching scenario.

Sam hurt some of these guys feelings and must go. He wasn't a superstar so he must be torn down. Like you said, he's average and without knowing what Corrall is, is better to have at lest one known commodity on the roster at QB, even if that is an average player. The Huddle loves the unknown, if you can't tell. Corrall hasn't played a meaningful snap--name him the starter! Draft a QB that has tons of question marks, BOOM, STARTER! Then when crap blows up (which is obvious to some of us) the board goes into meltdown mode.

Yup, I've been saying that all season about Chinn. Problem was we were thin--quality wise-- at safety. Yes, WR needs upgrading.
-
I think he's coming out, but dude is small and stayed hurt in college. I'd definitely take Duggan or Tune over him.
-
Oh, I think you are correct about Hall. Ward went back though, correct? I could care less about Rattler even if he did declare.
-
-
We are down to Duggan and Tune after round 2. Most of the mid-round prospects have gone back to school.
-
Not that he was on my radar, but Cam Rising is heading back to school.

I said that last offseason along with Dalton and got laughed at. Both played decent this year and would have been WAY better that Mayfield. I wouldn't be opposed to Minshew either, but he's not any better than the other two. Draft weapons, re-sign Sam, sign one of these guys and let's get after it in '23!

I guess Dave wants her input too. Obviously she won't have the final say, but it's odd Dave is having his wife sit in on the process.

Said "ballhawk" a couple times now. Thinking a FS too. Bookend to Burns mentioned as well. My mocks...at least positional-wise have been spot on! Fitterer has been in the Huddle's mock draft thread, lol!
