Thank you for your permission to discuss next years win/loss record in the next years win/loss record thread lol
-
You didn’t predict anything, you’re just telling me I can’t use this years record, experiences, and stats, as a baseline and assumed future moves we make to make an educated guess on next seasons record. Which is just a silly thing in a thread where the whole point is predicting next years record.
-
Sure. Some get worse too.
-
Why are you in a thread about next years win/loss record if your take is “you cannot predict how it will play out”?
-
Yeah that’s fair, 6 would def be optimistic but I like what I’ve seen last quarter of the year so I’ll keep my head in the clouds we can get to 4. I think Canales having a year of experience is good for at least 2 more wins next year
-
I don’t know where you’re seeing 6 either as I pretty clearly said 4. The only sure losses on that list are bills and rams
-
We have dropped, what, 3 one score games this year? While playing Andy Dalton for 5 games? The way Bryce is playing now we win one of those Andy games. I don’t think you have to hit a home run on EVERY move to get to 8 wins. The current young guys will get better, say that’s good for 1 win. Our rookie HC gets better and one of the 3 one score losses we win, that’s 1 win. I don’t think it’s unreasonable to think we can then get better over the offseason to account for 2 more wins. optimistic take, yes I know, but isn’t unreasonable imo
-
That’s why I asked to clarify. Shaq prob isn’t back next year, but for this year that was a huge loss. We’re elevating no name dudes to play LB
-
Not too bad. 6 winnable games there just at home. Take 4 there and Jets, Bears, Cardinals on the road. Yes easier said than done, but I could see us getting to 8
-
Like as of Sunday? Chubba, Horn, Moton. But it’s not just impact players, when you have your depth guys out it can hurt you just as much because then you’re activating practice squad LBs to be starters. That drop off is prob worse than starters to second string.
-
This roster? Assuming you mean current active players, no absolutely not but with injuries coming back draft and FA I’m going 8-9 next year
-
I got 12 pass TD/ 3 rush TD and 6 INT. So almost 3/1 there, but I imagine there are some lost fumbles in there I don't have numbers on and if you give him rushing TD gotta give fumbles too so prob around 2/1

Adam "Can't Stop The" Thielen Appreciation Thread

I'm not attacking you here, I'm honestly asking. Is there anything he could do that makes you okay with his physical traits? Because if you're saying it isn't fixable then that means you will never be happy with Bryce as he will not physically grow at age 23. I don't know maybe he works out a ton and gets a stronger arm, I don't know how that works at this level. My point being, what if this is not the right argument and there is no "fundamental lack of talent" that needs to be fixed? And instead what needed to be fixed was the Panthers QB culture that plagued both Baker and Sam who are flouring now in better cultures? Nothing Bryce has done this week makes me think he can't throw the deep ball, can't throw the far hash, can't shake off a sack and scramble for a first, can't throw a 20 yard out, can't lower his shoulder at the sticks and get a first. Last season? Sure, those questions are there. This season? I have seen him do all of this over the past 4 weeks.

No worries, lots of posts in there things get mixed up. Yes, I do expect WR's to attempt to use their hands and fight for a ball. There is very little chance he makes that catch there, but nothing good can happen from this "cradle the baby" motion XL likes to do. You stick your hands out and fight for the ball you can luck into a catch, draw PI, or prevent a DB making a play on it. I was ass but I did play WR in HS and this is coached constantly even at that level. I can't imagine our coaching staff is okay that he is doing this and not trying to get it corrected. Okay well I guess I respect your opinion but just respectfully disagree. In my head, occams razor concept that maybe instead of any of these 3 individual QBs being bad here, the Panthers are just an awful organization for a QB from 2021 to 2023 makes more sense. It looks like in 2024 we have started turning that around as a franchise. The other 2 guys now play on teams with a HoF #1 and VERY solid other receivers, true #1 TEs (yes I know Otton didn't play today), and very good RB rooms. I would say we have a very good RB on that list.

What are you talking about? Go link the post. You’re so full of poo dude, you know that isn’t even close to what I said. you started a post trying to make Bryce look bad under your guise of being so impartial and fair but it’s dumb logic that makes no sense.
-
Yeah this is revisionist history to the max. There was a massive meltdown when we traded for Sam. Most the board hated it and said he was a bust who couldn’t play.
-
To be fair, nobody outside of a few posters on this board question Bryce’s talent this year either. Everywhere else is positive on him since his return. Gotta imagine by year 4 (if you’re comparing to Darnold and Bakers year 4) it’ll be the same.
-
That was because Rhule knew he didn’t have time. We really should have kept him, but at the same time if we still went Reich it would have never worked.
-
I wasn’t gonna say it but thank you.
-
Geez, OL did not show up today. Seems everyone is just kinda checked out this year at this point. I think we miss Chubba picking up blocks a ton as well. Nice passing chart still tho. Wonder why we don’t throw screens to XL, nice easy completions for him and he gets to then just focus on running hard

A Tankathon Approach to the remaining Schedule
jb2288 replied to MHS831's topic in Carolina Panthers
Hey you are entitled to your opinion. You're severely twisting what I'm saying however. I don't think any wins are meaningless so you can throw that out. The locker room culture in winning for a young team is huge. Disagree with that if you want, but I don't think it's meaningless to those guys. It's hyperbole to say something like "draft questionable prospects who might not pan out" when we are talking bout pick 4 for 7, and you know it. I would say the odds of us getting a plus starter at 4 vs 7 are damn near the exact same. The exception to this is QB which carry a ridiculous premium, which were obviously not in the market for this year. The call back to the Horn draft was after that pick went Surtain, Slater, Parsons, Devontae smith. Its just a fun cherry picked stat for a message board -

I’m going back to Horn because, again, my point is there is no point losing sleep over us picking 7 vs 4. We are the Panthers, we have the same chance to make a good or bad pick at both. We don’t evaluate well. -

Why do you keep going back to Parsons? I'm not talk about Parsons at all.
