We have been the most consistently inconsistent team in the NFL for 27 years. Do you know how many people have come through this board and heard the exact same poo about being patient and so and so figuring it out that have long since expired and left this Earth? This had to work because we are in the spot we're in now because of all his other shitty ass gambles, and just like the others, it didn't. Why this was so important is because, as other have posted, the bust rate is astronomically high on QBs taken in the first round. I want to take Willis, but do I know if he will be a franchise QB? Nope. So we could very well be picking top 5 for the next 3 years until we find one, and there are no guarantees. Watson is a guarantee. I knew Cam was gonna be what he became in his prime, but that was like winning the lottery how that year lined up with him coming out and us having the top pick. That likely won't happen again.

Yeah, I'm not gonna lie, if I had made it to that level, I KNOW playing at home would always be my preference. But then again, once you reach that level, any place can become your home and you adapt to it. And I'm about as loyal as loyal can be, I mean, look at me, I'm still a Panthers fan after getting sharted on year in and year out. So, that being said, I have a hard time imagining if I was in DW's position that I would be so overwhelmed and consumed with the opportunity to play for my hometown team that I would forfeit the ability to actually be competitive in better situations elsewhere.
