  1. I feel like we’re the only team in the nfl that other teams consistently do disrespectful poo like that to - going for it on your own 40, opening drive of the season, opening drive of your professional HC career. poo is demoralizing.
  2. I hate Brian Kelly with a passion. He’s just a piece of poo.
  3. Damn, I didn’t know that. What could have been…. Sigh.
  4. Damn straight, bro. Well said. And yeah, I was hurt as a kid when Mack left for Texas. I didn’t understand it because although a college football powerhouse, UNC was on the rise at the time. He had been churning out competitive teams and was bringing in a ton of legit football players who would go on to the pros. But I guess he foresaw what was to come, because it’s like we have never been able to crack that glass ceiling. And I agree about looking forward to the collapse of it as it currently stands.
  5. Yeah, I actually love the transfer portal and the NIL deals. It makes it more exciting. And I completely agree about the TV deals tied to the conferences is the real issue. Even you bringing up Maryland is a great example. They were a founding member of the ACC, and while not great at football in my lifetime, they were a huge part of the basketball fabric of the ACC. I was pissed when they left for that reason alone… and now in the ACC we have teams like Cal and Stanford which is clearly not the Atlantic Coast, all while teams like Clemson, FSU, and UNC are trying to get out. I really, really hate that poo.
  6. Damn. I stand corrected. I wasn’t aware of Maryland’s national championship. I was stating it more so just off brand and off the top of my head, tradition and prestige, namely the amount of notable pros they have turned out. That was probably a dumb criteria to base it off of, but I just think that translates to competitiveness, and I never looked at Maryland as competitive in football in my lifetime. I thought their move to the Big Ten was particularly stupid because when they left the ACC they weren’t even really competitive then. So I feel like in terms of modern prestige, UNC is more relevant? So I think they would have more appeal to potential suitors if they wanted to move conferences. And as far as the conferences go, I could be way wrong here, but my prediction is, the SECs and Big 10s of the world are going to shoot themselves in the foot if they’re not careful. Yes, they are the big boys now, but if they continue to turn away viable candidates to join, like Clemson and FSU (and not homer talk, but UNC as well if they actually spent their money wisely), I predict the power is going to shift elsewhere, because the NIL money evens the playing field. Look at Alabama now. That’s why Saban left when he did… he knew how to game the system as it was. Were the players getting paid then? Absolutely, but once it became legal to pay them at any school, who tf wants to go to Alabama? If I’m not from there and I want to stay in-state, now an in-state school can pay me. If I am from there and I have to choose between fuging Alabama and somewhere else that will pay me the same, why stay there? Because just on its own merits, what is the appeal to Alabama? But this example goes for anything. Even a kid in Georgia. Yeah, Georgia is more prestigious and a powerhouse, but what if Georgia Tech, or even Tennessee or Florida pays me more? I just think the NIL has made it way different. You don’t have to all funnel to Alabama or Georgia to be relevant anymore because anywhere can become a powerhouse school overnight, if done correctly. So if the SEC and Big 10 keep acting all highsididdy on everybody, I wouldn’t be surprised if a lot of those other teams that comprise the rest of the top 25-50 programs band together to form one other super conference that starts siphoning players away from them.
  7. Damn, I didn’t know they were considering moving. These new conferences and the constant moving of teams is complete ass. But that is shocking for those two schools considering their pipelines and prestige.
  8. You think Maryland is a more prestigious football program than UNC? You’re my guy, kfd, but that’s a wild take. I actually think the ACC has never gotten the love it deserves for football. There is a lot of tradition and prestige to a lot of the teams in the conference.
  9. No lie… to this day, and forever, I’m always still gonna love me some Ted Ginn. I tell people all the time who aren’t Panther fans so they don’t know - Ted legit was our best receiver during Cam’s tenure here.
  10. That game made me resign from my position as HC of UNC in my solo football dynasty on NCAA26.
  11. Nah, what he did in Cleveland was damn impressive. ain’t no way in hell we (it’s my alma mater) should’ve looked like this tonight. That was piss poor coaching and piss poor playing. Like they said, for both teams, this was a similar setting to when TCU played Colorado when Deion was hired. TCU coming in to play a game against a super famous football celebrity figure with a completely overhauled roster - difference is, Colorado played up to the moment. We just folded like a cheap lawn chair. I was joking during the game with friends, like they really watched a whole summer of Gio and Max and decided Gio was the starter? Hell, I bet Bryce Baker as a freshman is better than Gio. We hyped that signing of Gio like we just won the fuging lottery, and he is complete ass. We spent two quarters desperately not trying to throw the football - I don’t know if it’s because he can’t or what? But there was no excuse for that. It felt so much like the Rhule years here. I haven’t seen such a dysfunctional offense since or before. And then the damn defense…. I asked my friend if they just brought all 70 new guys in from a lab that does arm and leg transplants because did these guys just receive their limbs and are figuring out how to use them??? Because I have never seen a whole team look so inept. Diving early at feet and missing them entirely, getting trucked, flailing and falling everywhere, peewee league arm tackles, always looking a step slow… no lie, whatever the worse I could’ve imagined that debut going, take that and make it 10 times worse and I never would’ve even seen THAT happening. Absolutely no excuse for it. None. All the brand power and image brought with the Belichick hire, and that’s the best he could do in his debut. They brought MJ, LT, and Roy out for THAT??? Man, I spent 7 years of my life living there and i NEVER saw or heard of LT coming out there during that time. They actually got him coming around to watch THAT. Bill should be fuging embarrassed. The fuging commentary booth brought a dog in and put a headset on him as Rece Davis said, “the wheels are off, ladies and gentlemen.” As I said elsewhere - not under Mack 1.0, not under Torbush, not under Butch, not under Fedora, and not under Mack 2.0, did we EVER look like THAT. Never. You bring in a guy that is considered one of the greatest football minds in coaching EVER, and we get shellacked and don’t even look competitive??? Boy I know the boosters are shitting fuging fireballs right now.
  12. Tbh, I feel like AT’s strongest attribute was his leadership, presence, and in-game knowledge which includes helping everybody on offense know what they’re doing and looking at. Yes, he out up surprisingly good numbers considering how much slower he looked here compared to his prime years in Minny. But in terms of his ability to get open, I don’t think we lose anything going to Renfrow in that role. If anything, in terms of ability, if Renfrow can hold up, I think he’s a more explosive version of AT. My only real concern is what we lost in on-field coaching from AT.
  13. Hard to look good when you’re having to high-point balls at 12 feet in the air on screens behind the LOS because a guy who shouldn’t be in the NFL is throwing to you. TBH, we’re lucky he decided to come back after that bullshit.
  14. Love Hunter is back, but again, until we know what Tet and XL are this season, Coker was our best WR. so…
  15. I’m not mad at Moehrig. He’s great at what he does. And to be honest, a lot of my favorite safeties in our history were box-first type guys - Maxie, Minter, Mike Mitchell, Chris Harris… they’re first and foremost objective was to put people on their backs and coverage was secondary. There is a place for that. There is a definite need for that. Physical guys that set the tone. So cool, we have that in Moerhig. But what we have lacked for the vast majority of our existence is a true free safety that cleans everything up on the back end. Sometimes they come in the form of a JOAT, like Peppers. I think he would be a fantastic compliment to Moehrig’s strengths and weaknesses. If we don’t go after him, I certainly hope Ransom is given the chance to grow and develop in real-time with real game reps, because what he did in preseason was very encouraging to see. I hope he can grow into that roaming center fielder with a little bit of an edge to him as an enforcer as well. He has the tools. In the meantime, adding Peppers would only help.
  16. Patriots released him, per Schefter.
  17. TBH, I didn’t see a lot of him before we drafted him but heard all of the exciting comparisons. But then seeing him in the brief time he played again before getting injured with us, I don’t have a ton of hope he’ll ever amount to anything. Maybe it was a result of the initial injury, but to me, he looked very slow and heavy footed.
  18. I had mine removed in emergency surgery a few years back. I was 33 or so at the time. It wasn’t tough at all. They triangulate the incisions (like three small inch wide incisions in a triangular pattern), then they stitch you up. I think I was limited from heavy lifting/exercise for 2 or 3 weeks after, but I definitely felt like I was capable of doing more before I was allowed. Knowing the NFL they will probably fast track him and say he’s ready by the opener. But if I was Ickey, I probably would sit out the first week. How you feel and what you’re capable of without injuring yourself worse are two different things.
