  1. Exactly, "we love you bryce and want you here 2 more years at least nevermind we might have just drafted your replacement" If a girl breaking up with him sends by into a tailspin I cannot imagine him actually have to fight for his job for once
  2. are you agreeing with me or is that aimed at me lol I could see either way as there are not a lot of examples of teams simply picking up the 5th to buy time to see if said player improves in year 4
  3. he had already won a mvp and was in negotiations with the team the entire time. A bit different. Danny dimes would be a closer comp but he just played on his 4rth and the team stupidly gave him a massive deal. You are who you are by year 3.
  4. thats the point, in 90% of the cases a decision is made one way or another. Running this back for 2 more years hoping he can get to top 15ish by the end of year 4 is crazy. Because again after year 4 you have to make another decision while on the hook for 27 million. It doesnt make a lick of sense
  5. I do expect our resident bryce lovers to return and rejoice once this happens. Funny they havent posted all week.
  6. the rookie contract works awesome if the player hits, however in bryces case its a detriment to the team, most orgs either sign them long term after year 3 while picking up the 5th or they move on. As we have discussed all season less than a handful of qbs have entered this territory. And most times it ends in diaster
  7. I still have the small glimmer of hope that Dan and Dave see what we all see and have to confess tep this aint it
  8. But if he is getting better every year as you pointed out why not sign him while he is relatively inexpensive compared to 2 years from now?
  9. thats precisely my point, is there some magical corner he is going to turn after his 4rth year?
  10. If members of the media are already chirping about it (Kines and others) then I pray the Panthers arent guilt tripped into doing something irrational if they make the playoffs
  11. Picking it up basically guarantees him here 2 more years due to the cost. Furthermore I doubt he is going into year 5 without an ext so basically now we are going to need 4 years to see if he can actually play. Up to now I think any reasonable fan can see this experiment isnt working. I would not go cold turkey I would sign someone this offseason as well as draft a guy. So again I dont see any real value of the 5th
  12. That, fred lane, bobby phills, derek coleman, Shinn, man that was a wild ass time living in Charlotte
  13. the play by play dude on fnz said he was dealing with 2 shoulder injuries and a leg/calf issue.
  14. if he doesnt 200 today with rookies starting at cb, then just pull the plug, seriously trade him and start over because that is inconceivable
  15. Sweet baby Jesus please tell me we arent picking up his 5th, thats embarrassing
