just because Jones has a good year doesnt make him a good qb. There is too much history and film to show what type of qb he is. Same with darnold. Can they win with elite coaching and an elite team, sure to a degree, but this is the nfl at some point the qb has to take over in the playoffs. Thats just how this league is built now.

thats the point, in 90% of the cases a decision is made one way or another. Running this back for 2 more years hoping he can get to top 15ish by the end of year 4 is crazy. Because again after year 4 you have to make another decision while on the hook for 27 million. It doesnt make a lick of sense

the rookie contract works awesome if the player hits, however in bryces case its a detriment to the team, most orgs either sign them long term after year 3 while picking up the 5th or they move on. As we have discussed all season less than a handful of qbs have entered this territory. And most times it ends in diaster

Picking it up basically guarantees him here 2 more years due to the cost. Furthermore I doubt he is going into year 5 without an ext so basically now we are going to need 4 years to see if he can actually play. Up to now I think any reasonable fan can see this experiment isnt working. I would not go cold turkey I would sign someone this offseason as well as draft a guy. So again I dont see any real value of the 5th
