  1. He was very good in Denver the year before we got him (they didn't want him to leave, but they fired his friend who was the HC so he felt slighted) and he was very good last year for us when we had a handful of NFL starting calibre players. I don't know if he'll ever field a dominant defence because to me it looks like his thing is getting players to play above and beyond their skill level in a 'bend but don't break' zone scheme, but he's very good regardless.
  2. I'm disappointed, that's a bad Bengals team and we won't get many more winnable games like that. I'm resigned to losing A LOT of games this season because the talent on the defensive side of the ball wouldn't look out of place in the XFL. It's an abomination.
  3. He's a very good DC. Unfortunately outside of Horn and Jackson (with Brown now being injured) we've left him with a defensive squad lacking NFL starting calibre players. There's only so much you can do when there is zero pass rush and nobody can tackle in space.
  4. So 3 inches shorter and 25lbs lighter. That's pretty significant.
  5. He was the DC for Mack in Texas - Brown has the inside track on how to beat Diaz's smoke and mirrors D. He's always obliterated him when they've faced off against each other.
  6. Hi Luke, would you stake everything in your bank account on Bryce Young having a successful NFL career? No? Didn't think so.
  7. Or, y'know, they're following the actual rules of the sport and it's clearly not a catch.
  8. Hence why the bent ***** called a TD on the field.
  9. No, I would not draft Cam Ward. He's been horrific against VT.
  10. 14 point swing because ACC refs are fuging awful. I love this conference.
  11. You've seen 3 high level NFL throws so far tonight from Ward.
  12. From what I've read he was pushing last year at Washington St - he felt the pressure to play hero ball to get noticed by NFL scouts. He's playing within the scheme so far at Miami - obviously having much better talent around him helps that.
  13. They play the logo, not the team. Everyone gets up for Miami - believe that.
  14. I wouldn't like to say. He's probably the best QB in College football right now, but whether that translates over to the NFL is another thing. I'd like to see more accuracy with his throws - speaking purely as a scout, as a Miami fan I'm thrilled with his contributions so far - he's College accurate (hits the open man in stride) but I don't know if he's NFL accurate (intentionally throwing to a front or back shoulder etc). Other than that I think he's got every attribute you look for in an NFL QB - his arm is strong enough, he's mobile enough, he moves well in the pocket, he can throw from multiple arm angles, he reads the defence well (both the coverage and adjusting his blocking scheme) and he's poised. If I was an NFL scout I'd certainly recommend him to my GM, but I wouldn't stake my career on him just yet. Let's see how he does after ACC play.
  15. We have 8 ACC games to play - so in all of those. We're everbody's Super Bowl and typically we've dropped a couple of those games every year we've had no right to. USF pushed Alabama close in Tuskaloosa, they're no slouches.
