Nate Tice Nails the Limitations of the Offense
OldhamA replied to Panthering's topic in Carolina Panthers
What can I say, after three years of watching him play I've turned into a vindictive person. That or, as you've just pointed out, he can't do his job and doesn't deserve a roster spot. Either or. -

Nah. It'd be cathartic for those in the fan base that actually know what they're looking at. Give him the Jamarcus Russell treatment, it's the least he deserves. -
No we're not. This is not a roster where you look at it and think "man that needs to be blown up and you need to start again". For starters we don't have anything to trade. Yes you could ship out Brown, Horn, T-Mac - but you're getting pennies on the dollar for the first two because they're already on their expensive second contracts. Who else are you trading? Not Lewis or Hunt, that's for sure - then your 'rebuilding' team is stuck with two 30 year old OGs. For me the approach is simple - whatever methodology you followed for the 2025 Draft, continue doing that and have patience. There are some good players here - we just have zero depth - and for the love of god find a functional NFL QB to give everyone a chance.

It would be so Panthers to go from one noodle armed drama queen with a ridiculous media following to another.
-
I think he's toxic af and has nowhere near the talent to back that up.

I think you're going to strangle the fan base if you don't even attempt to win football games.

Is anyone else now buying the idea Tepper has eyes on a Europe move??

How I play the team rebuild and Bryce Young if I was the GM

But we have a washed up ex-Pro Bowler at home... -

If I was the GM and Tepper insisted I stick with Young and build around him, I'd work from home most days with my feet up. Fire me, pay me that life changing money, Dave, I dare you. I'm not wasting my time trying to build around a black hole of suck. -

As I keep on saying - he needs the humiliation of being cut by us in his third year in the league. It would be such a statement of intent. -

Let's look at the QB throwing them the ball. -

I'd swap Young for Ward in a heartbeat. -
Tepper wanted to be the Steelers - he was a minority owner of the Steelers so all he's known in the 3-4.

We spend over 60% of our Salary Cap on O and haven't drafted a defensive player in the first round since 2021 (and both of our last two first round defensive players are on their second contracts...).

Evero when they finally release him from his contract:

Wait, didn't he START at the weekend?!

New York Times: Is Panthers QB Bryce Young a Lost Cause
OldhamA replied to electro's horse's topic in Carolina Panthers
Bet these ***** were wanking all over him during the Draft process. He is who I thought he was. He was never, ever going to succeed in the NFL. I was absolutely livid when we drafted him. -

No he couldn't - he'd even struggle in that 49ers O from a couple of years ago (before the superstars left). His physical limitations are ridiculous. -
"He's not the problem - he's a game manager, it's the people around him". We traded three first round picks for the guy. Even if he was a game manager (he's not - just look at those drives Dalton led on Sunday and compare them to everything outside of that first scripted drive by Young - it's night and day, and Dalton is waaaaashed), the fact we gave up so much for him absolutely makes him the problem. Teams would hesitate to trade three first round picks for Mahomes or Allen ffs.
-
Bingo. Hit up the Vikings for Howell. Hit up the Chargers for Lance. Hit up the 49ers for Jones. A competent NFL QB can be found if we try. Just staunch the bleeding.

Tankathon: Where we stand on draft position…..
OldhamA replied to WarPanthers89's topic in Carolina Panthers
I'm not ready to kick Legette to the curb just yet. If anything I'm super impressed with Coker and T-Mac for producing with this QB. Look at the TD Evans caught on Sunday - Young doesn't make that play. Insert a competent NFL QB into this system and I think we're all signing a different tune. -
I'd rather stumble along in mediocrity than turn the game off one drive into the third quarter.
-
I don't think the roster is quite as bad as you make out - but yeah there's zero depth. BPA and move on to the second round, and realistically you could take that guy at literally any position.
