What is this in reference to?
-
I was clearly referring to your dig about him being a "true #1" before he's played a snap in the NFL while still arguing Moore isn't a 1 despite multiple seasons of high level play with mediocre QB's and now finishing the season 6th in receiving yards in Chicago of all places. Your ego is ridiculous my friend.

NFC South 2024 Offseason Financials [Spotrac]
frankw replied to Evil Hurney's topic in Carolina Panthers
Agree on everything but DB I could not disagree more. He is going to be a much needed part of our defense and will bring heart and leadership to a locker room that has quite a few players that are just here cashing checks. -
Definitely give Vrabel an interview.

You are hopelessly and hilariously dug into your position. Keep going. It's entertaining.

That's true but I would argue Beane is more of an outlier. As far as Morgan removing the emotional attachment revolving around his history as a Panthers player all we have to go on is his involvement here and Buffalo. If we are to go the glass half full approach we would say his time with the Bills says we should take a shot on him because he was involved at some level in some very solid roster building. On the flip side we said the same thing about Fitterer when we snagged him from Seattle. It's a crapshoot.

With Panthers cleaning house how safe is Bryce

We may not agree much. But good to see you are still around. -
Sounds eerily familiar like what we said about Fitterer after Rhule was fired. Clean house.

If you're arguing in favor of Bryce after a regime change those are 3 names you don't want to mention. Darnold was always a bust. Jones has been outplayed by an undrafted FA. Fields would be the only one of the three and even he is called a bust here still by quite a few people. Even though I'm pessimistic I absolutely l hope BY can put in a heavy offseason working on his game and hopefully bulk up some too. If he were to somehow turn this into a redemption story that would be fantastic. But he has a lot to overcome. We shall see. -
You're talking about All-Pro wide receivers. Who wouldn't love to have one of those? But DJ Moore is a #1. It is what it is. You have to accept you were wrong.

Sir Purr. Match the energy of the team.

If your expectations are another WR in the mold of Steve Smith you'll be waiting a long time. Most of these new young guys simply aren't built that way. Social media doesn't help either. I think your ego won't let you acknowledge you misjudged. Ohwell.

I'm talking about before we traded for him. It is almost verbatim the same rhetoric about his time with the Jets. If it doesn't seem the same it's because you don't want to see it.

You could copy/paste this post from any comment about Sam Darnold three years ago. But go off.

We will hear about coaching the OL and the receivers but even the biggest Panthers homers should have a difficult time sugar coating all this. At best it's on par with Clausen. Quite depressing.

Bryce Young is the layer that complicates the hire when accounting for the fact there are multiple vacancies currently and some that have clear upgrades at QB. He will absolutely get next season but any head coaching candidate we hire is and will ask about all possibilities and contingency plans in the event things do not trend significantly upward for Bryce. The best candidate will not take the job if it's build around Bryce and nothing else. That is too much of a risk for any first time head coach. They read the same news we do about this team. Sometimes one chance is all you get. Tepper is going to have to accept his #1 pick just got a whole lot of people fired and we will need to assess possible options for 2025. In the meantime build the OL and get more weapons with what means we have. -
Rumor: Tepper threw drink in response to JAG fan mocking Haynes injury
frankw replied to Saca312's topic in Carolina Panthers
Clearly someone is attempting damage control. It would be better to say nothing at all than leak nonsense excuses like this. You lost your cool just own it and move on. -
Waking up to this news is like Christmas morning.

Part of this is also due to Bryce Young himself. When these defenses watch the tape they see our OL but they also see Bryce Young's yards per pass attempt. He finished the season with apparently the lowest yards per pass attempt in NFL history. That doesn't just happen only because of the oline and receivers. He simply does not instill any level of fear as a passer. That's the rub. Sad as it is to say.
