S Fowler ‘not sure Young will ever work out’
frankw replied to raleigh-panther's topic in Carolina Panthers
Seeing the way Bryce played I am immediately reminded of some of his worst moments in camp. One play stands out. Bryce threw a no look pass to a receiver flanked by two defenders without even scanning that side of the field for a split second. Looked like he just wanted to get out of there. That's how Bryce looked yesterday. Not only does he not look like an NFL player he just doesn't seem to give much of a poo in general. Horrific leader as far as I'm concerned. -
Before the trade up? Carr. After? Nobody knows for sure. But at this point common sense has to enter into the equation. The way he looked at CJ Stroud at his proday is all I need to know personally.

XL is not going to Bust. SOMETHING POSITIVE

The definite downside to riding out the season with Bryce Young is these other young players waste a pivotal season of much needed development. At this point I think you have to try to give them some reps with Dalton.- 21 replies

Eugene Robinson on the saints first TD
frankw replied to electro's horse's topic in Carolina Panthers
Did you actually expect the defense to carry the game for us or something? Could they and should they have played better? Hell yes. But did we invest heavily in the defense in the offseason? Hell no. What did we invest in. Well let's take a look at that. First round pick trade up? Offense. 2nd round pick trade up? Offense. 153 million dollars between two FA signings? Offense. My guy for someone who isn't trying to carry water for Bryce Young you're sure sounding like the opposite. Like I don't even know what you're doing at this point. -

We all knew the talk of preseason not mattering was bullshit even those of us who tried their best to deny it. But that was just one broken defensive play. What really set the tone was the first offensive play of the game. -
Who isn't better than our QB at this point?

We both know Lamar was never leaving Baltimore. It would have been career suicide by the GM and John Harbaugh come on.
-
Morgan is and was always going to be a really risky hire. He was directly involved in much of what has hurt this franchise the last few years. The concern is ultimately Tepper hired him instead of an outsider so he could still meddle in day to day operations. I mean he literally hired the best friend of the worst Panthers GM in history and said there done. I like Dan Morgan but I'm sorry I'm absolutely not sold. We will see.

Anyone heard from @csx? He'll be none too pleased about all this unflattering commentary on the team.

Let him draft his own QB then begin the evaluation.
-
What good is trying to establish the run when you're already down multiple scores lol

The New Orleans Saints clearly watched all of Bryce Young's tape from last season. You can put Justin Jefferson out there and Bryce would still find a way to f*ck it up.
-
Kyle Allen and Sam Darnold both showed flashes and they are terrible. Well let's see. We've already used as scapegoats Frank Reich Josh McCown Thomas Brown the offensive line the wide receivers the playcalling the scheme. Yet somehow we are even worse than last season so far. No moving parts on the roster within the offense or on staff can change the QB having absolutely zero dynamic ability phsyically or even mentally as a leader of any kind.

I lost it at the first gif. At least we can still laugh. Damn.

When Clowney said what he said about Bryce Young a few months ago that summed it up. The locker room knows.
-
I didn't say anyone had to cheer for this mess just to be clear. Just not my choice of path to run off to another team as a reflex. Like I said I get the reasoning.
-
Absolutely. The best the offense looked all last year was with Dalton on the road in hostile territory. We cannot evaluate anyone on offense with Bryce Young at QB. Just a simple fact.
-
But he really wasn't though. He had the worst deep passing percentage at Alabama between him Tua Hurts and even Mac Jones. You cannot carve out a career as a starting QB with that. Let alone just magically become a franchise QB for a decade or more.
-
You cannot start Bryce Young again. He is not an NFL player.

At this point just let him finish the season and get us the first pick. It's the absolute least he can do. 38 million for this? Unreal. -
There wasn't anything to ruin. It's who he is.

I completely agree. Ultimately to each his own. But IMO folks running around wearing other teams jerseys or actively pulling for second teams were never really Panthers fans to begin with. It's Panthers or the league is dead to me. Straight up.
-
Team goes as the QB goes it's always been this way. We literally drafted this kid because of his leadership. People even cited his father being a psychologist. Dude is literally the lowest energy starting QB I've seen in a long time. We were sold a false bill of goods. Just admit defeat and move on. From there our culture might get better if we get a QB who at least wants to get better and not hide out for a month and watch Netflix or go shopping for clothes after one of the worst statistical seasons for a rookie QB in decades.

Oh that bot better be banned.
