  1. It wasn't even just DJ though unfortunately. The Bears did whatever they wanted all around. I completely agree with you about our approach to that matchup though. That game should have been circled and put up in the locker room for everyone to see as one we absolutely need to show up big for or at the very least give them a hard fought effort even if we lost. Instead we looked like we could barely be bothered and got smoked by a franchise that has been poorly run for what seems like forever. Just unforgiveable to do that to an already beaten down fanbase. Everyone from the front office to the coaching staff to the roster should be on notice for that showing against the Bears.
  2. Yeah let's just get in the playoffs and go from there. We really need to get that 23 year playoff series win drought off our backs. With what I'm seeing we are building something good that can get us there. Just need the coaching and front office to remain consistent. It looks like we've got the right people.
  3. Obviously Meyer was much worse than Saban and a manchild. I think if you're going to have a list such as this ten isn't enough to drive home the point. Need a top 20. There are some names that deserve to be mentioned. Greg Schiano? There are different levels of bad hires. Obviously the worst will be someone who can't even finish one lone season. But there are others who coached a few seasons and gradually worked their way into all time infamy through their behavior as well as their win/loss record.
  4. In terms of how he treated his players like they were kids and almost got his ass kicked a few times he is comparable to Meyer. Just no off the field foolishness. The shine of his resume at Alabama polishes up his time as Dolphins coach to a degree. People are saying Meyer and completely giving Saban a pass because of recency bias.
  5. Meyer #1 but no Nick Saban anywhere in the list?
  6. In the midst of all this talk of our 2nd round pick. It's interesting that the NFL's leading rusher is an undrafted running back for the 49ers.
  7. Only puts more pressure on Brooks to look really really good when he does finally play regardless of what the circumstances are too. Bad situation all around.
  8. Morgan for me right now is incomplete. Same for Canales and his staff. That's plenty fair. Everything depends on how the season concludes. We need to be trending upward in some areas. If not everyone should be under the microscope. Anywho appreciate the convo. We can just agree to disagree regarding the rest. All good.
  9. If Evero goes so be it he is not someone beyond reproach. I won't be upset about it. I'm simply for applying any criticism evenly. But can you tell me specifically why you are so apprehensive to assign any level of blame to Morgan? Who btw was right beside Fitterer when he was making awful decisions the last few years. Removing Evero only opens the door to a heavier focus on the GM. And makes this place even more undesirable if that's even possible. The Chicago Bears are not known to be a well run franchise and they absolutely dragged us on both sides of the ball. There should be no excuses for Evero Canales or Morgan. That cannot continue.
  10. Morgan "fixed" the OL and we hired an offensive head coach and we are currently 25th in YPG and 29th in PPG. We are simultaneously giving up an historical number of PPG defensively. Again. Cannot have this conversation without tough questions for our GM too.
  11. I love Cam Newton. I do not love all these sports talk shows. IMO it just appeals to the worst aspects of our society. All the same good luck to Cam in his endeavors.
  12. Evero should be facing some level of criticism as he has had significant input in some of the roster management on that side of the ball. At the same time. If we are now going to formally begin "evaluating" Evero we also must follow with doing so for Morgan. It is our first time GM who set the wheels in motion for this defense to be historically bad and undermanned in order to build around our first overall pick. IMO you can't ask for one without the other and if you do then you cannot be taken seriously because the front office absolutely needs to be asked some tough questions too.
  13. She's got some Elaine Benes going on. Still has no business being involved in making day to day operational decisions.
  14. We have the third most expensive offensive line in the league based on salary cap allocation and we're still a bottom 5 team at best. We traded up for both of our first two picks in this years draft and so far one of them has yet to even see the field and the other is TBD at best. The only thing Morgan should get "credit" for at this point is simply showing up to work. Everything else is up in the air.
  15. I'm not listening to any sad songs about lack of talent. Morgan and Canales have been around this franchise the last several months pumping sunshine and rainbows about what they're building here. You can still halfway compete and not get the doors blown off by hot garbage franchises as you describe them such as the Bengals and the Bears.
  16. Obviously you don't want guys getting hurt in practice. But this squad just got DRAGGED by the Chicago Bears. Somehow that poorly run franchise is head and shoulders above us. Not directed at you but just a general thought. I am so tired of the injury excuse with this franchise. Other teams have injuries and they don't just tumble down into the cellar and remain the worst pro franchise in all of sports. What is our team culture? Making excuses. Not trying to be a dick. Just calling it like it is.
  17. Considering the current state of our defense it's interesting looking back at how formidable Bryce Young made our defense look throughout camp. Didn't Shy Tuttle even have a pick 6 at one point? As a Panthers fan all you can do is laugh.
  18. There's also the reality of what we've already got allocated to the offensive line as a whole. Add a fresh left tackle contract and we are way ahead of the rest of the league. I mean I want to be first in something for once too. But we also do not have an NFL defense and we kinda need one of those. Man it sure would be nice to have a legit future Center on a rookie deal right about now...
  19. No contract giveaways here.... Didn't we just have a long running thread about extending Diontae Johnson that quickly fizzled out after we were blown out? I am very firmly in the camp of no new contract extensions until after the conclusion of the season. Remember 2010? Only way to build up the worst team in the league is to stack assets and draft good football players.
  20. I get the sentiment in here. I wanted to clean house including the draft scouting staff last year. But the issue becomes this is already an undesirable destination. By all accounts through our hiring process for GM and head coach which eventually had people here asking why it was taking so long it was because no one else wanted the job. Let's put aside the homer glasses for a few moments and readily acknowledge that. The only way that can change IMO is if Tepper exits the picture. Since that isn't happening there's really no major light at the end of tunnel. Still. Much of this depends on how the rest of the season goes. I'm ready to see how ugly this gets. If it burns it burns. Get the smores. On the other hand maybe something finally clicks. It's going to be one or the other that's the only way this franchise can operate. But if Morgan and Canales are fired and you guys are tired of yes men you better get ready for most likely someone even worse because that kind of candidate will be the only one willing to even entertain the thought of or consider the position. That's the reputation and it certainly won't be improved by seeking your 4th head coaching hire in 4 years. Just speaking facts
  21. But we've already seen this. That was the justification for giving him a free pass in the first half of his rookie season. Those losses that were over by the 4th quarter he put together a few decent drives when the opposing D was playing prevent. We obviously know how the rest of that storyline played out. It is completely understandable that anyone would be highly skeptical of more of that now.
  22. I'm not ready to give up on XL by a longshot. But the Center position.... With what we invested in the oline in free agency it sure would have been nice to have a great young Center on a rookie contract for whomever the QB is next season. With running backs most teams are saving those selections for the mid rounds. Hell we missed out on another olineman a few years back to draft a long snapper. Morgan drafts like Fitterer as of right now. He better hope Brooks is one of the best backs in the league by the end of next season.
  23. Wow. Sounds to me like more than anything there was a major rift between him and Rodgers and Aaron got him ousted. Maybe he deserved it maybe he didn't. But one thing I can say for sure. Rodgers is an asshole. If they had a big falling out it sounds like they were too much alike. Both arrogant and unwilling to give an inch. That was never a match to begin with.
  24. For myself I personally do not care about his personal life his religious background his wife or how he cheated on her and drank. If he can coach this franchise and lead us into relevancy the next decade that's all that matters. If he can't. Then by all means eviscerate him. But let's at least let the season play out first and go forward from there.
