Just a week ago it was you doing the flexing on behalf of that 14-3 QB now suddenly it's a problem to talk about him having his worst game since his time with the Jets heading into the playoffs. Bit hypocritical.
-
Reduced to playing for field goals and then it goes wide Oh no

Well those of us that watched Darnold play in NY and here knew that it was unlikely he would fully turn the page on what held him back from being a franchise QB despite having every tool needed. When things get tough he panics and reverts to the same old same old. It's on tape over and over and over. But still even some Panthers fans here have bought into the hype this season. Even had a guy here who just started posting in September dig up some posts of me criticizing Darnold for a game just like this saying I was wrong about him. @Joe Bear you watching the game buddy?
-
It's not a good look for the NFC. And the Packers lost to the Bears today.
-
As of right now it's looking like O'Connell has hidden the real Darnold amidst a stacked roster like Shanahan managed to do with Purdy for a time. But it all comes to the forefront in the playoffs.
-
At this point Andy Dalton has no future and serves no purpose here. Bryce is entering his third season he doesn't need any mentorship from Dalton. This QB room outside of Young needs a full reset and it should be Canales choosing who will be brought in.
-
Can't say one way or another whether Darnold is the same QB he's always been but one thing this game is confirming is the NFC is not at all what it used to be. Even the best teams in the conference look like they could get routed by the best AFC playoff teams. No reason we can't be competing for playoffs next season.

I don't see any path forward that doesn't involve us turning the page there. It's for the best for both parties. Now it's only a matter of when not if.

I mean on the surface your point isn't invalid about waiting to see further results. But Mike Shanahan pretty much nuked Robert Griffin's career to the point where I say honestly fug him and his overrated son.
-
Idk the Lions are like a kindred spirit for us I don't wish Darnold any ill but the Vikings have had plenty of regular season success the last several years their fans aren't starved. I'll be pulling for a fellow tortured sports city in Detroit. I hope they win it all.
-
I was looking around to see if anyone else was talking about this. Legitimately that is some overt bush league nonsense. I hope they get sent packing in the playoffs.

The one thing I will say for sure that Morgan needs to stay away from is being under any illusions that he has to fix everything in a single offseason. Address the defense the best you can with the resources you have and add some more to the offense. It's going to take some time but we just need to follow the example of other franchises recently like the Lions.
-
Even if he was the wrong guy for the job they never should have hired him the first place. I already didn't like the Patriots now I hope they implode even more the last thing we need is that franchise and their insufferable fans merging as a serious contender again.

No one can give the answer to this until we get at least a handful of games under our belt next season.
-
Right now we have something strong to build on heading into a very crucial offseason. Morgan needs to nail the draft and free agency. Canales and Bryce need to hit the ground running early in the season and only then will we have an early confirmation. Call me glass half full if you like but I'm a Charlotte sports fan I know better than to assume anything too early. By Halloween next year we'll know.
-
To win the way we did to close the season and still have the 8th pick is pretty ideal all things considered I'll gladly take it.
-
Suck it Falcons
-
Miles Sanders with a redemption touchdown I have to give credit where it's due he came to play today. This is how you enter the offseason if you're in the shape we've been. Best case scenario.
-
1st and goal at the 1 get in the damn end zone and leave ATL with a dub. This would be the first game with 40+ points since 2018.
-
Bryce with the ball first. Go out there and win it.
-
Game winning drive would be fantastic but we can't leave it up to Eddie Finkle
-
Yeah if we're going to give up a record number of points let's drop 40+ today fug it.
-
Penix is going to be a problem in the future maybe
-
One thing I can say for sure is Bryce's confidence is night and day he looks like everything is coming naturally and there's no need to overthink anything so that's at least something to build on heading into the offseason.
