The 2021 Carolina Panthers Fan Fest Thread
Panthers Rhule replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
Really? You actually felt the need to take the time to tell us fans how we should feel? Well, thank you so much for considering all of us poor Panthers' fans. I hope that one day you will be able to support your team live and they will practice with tanks, bombs and missiles so that you can truly enjoy the experience with your family. Which team do you support? I would love to hear about your teams' blood sport practice. I bet it was fun watching all your children's favorites getting carted off the field and to the hospital. Pre-seasons just aren't what they used to be huh? The NFL has become too soft hasn't it. I know my kids love watching their football heroes' careers getting cut short and they were very disappointed that no one had to be carried off the field today. I assured them that after practice at least 2 or 3 players had their helmets removed by guillotine. Now I know they will sleep better tonight. -
The Good Ole Waiver Wire - Your Friend and Mine

So, in the 2020 draft you would have traded our 2021 first round pick to draft Herbert and then used that same pick to draft Fields the next season??? Brilliant!!! Why didn't we just think of that? You're right. Our team has no idea how this stuff works. -
I voted NO other. His legal problems are not good but I just really like Sam at this point and want to see him succeed. I believe he can do this and I want to see him do it. I'm much happier giving him his shot at this time to save his career from his past than giving the same shot to Watson considering what his past is at the moment. Sam feels more like a Panther's player to me now than Watson does and I don't think that will ever change. I think it would be difficult for me to have the same enthusiasm I'm feeling now for Sam. Go Darnold! Go Panthers!!!

With the players we have now and the creative minds I believe we have coaching, this offense has the potential to be unique and very fun to watch as they could do things other teams just don't have the players to do. Interchanging them in different roles at different times and differently depending on the match up. Switching Anderson/Marshal inside outside changes things, Tremble, Arnold, CMC and Hubba doing different things could give defenses a lot of different looks and things to watch out for making them all very difficult to scheme against as you won't know what they are going to do. That doubt should keep defenses on their heels a little too which will slow them down helping our OL as well.

Exactly. Also, from the HB spot he becomes almost an extra lineman instead of a lead blocker as FBs usually are. If our LT is having problems sending the HB across the zone area can really help there as well. In the DE speed rushes the LT TT coming across from the side can push the DE right out of the play and keep Sams blind side protected and things like that too
-
This. I see them using him as a TE/HB hybrid. During the confidential video, before day 2 on the day 1 recap, Fit calls the scouts over and they are discussing who's left they would want to draft and he Fit says "Tommy Tremble, I know there's a lot of conviction from our coaching staff on how to use him". I found that wording to be particular. It wasn't to play TE or FB it was How to use him. We know they like tweeners and to me Tommy is a tweener. When I hear how to use him I imagine they have ideas on how to run certain plays or packages specifically to take advantage of his particular skill set which I see as more of an HB which is a tweener position anyway. he could line up in all 3 spots and then shift at the LOS or he could take on a blocking role but from HB instead of FB which I think would work well with out ZBS or send him out on a route from the same spot. With CMCs speed he often hit the 2nd level where you could sent TT to block and open CMC up. PLay after play and then every once in a while instead of blocking the LB he just flies past him for a wide open pass because no one is guarding him. This is why I loved the pick so much because he is so good at blocking, I think he can become a good receiver and with creative coaching he could be a very difficult challenge to opposing defenses for how to account for him. It's rare for defense to face a true HB and a good one at that. I think he will be able to help CMC get more big run opportunities in every game and offer big 3rd down and redzone possibilities with trick plays using him as a runner and receiver in misdirection's and such. His possibilities and potential excite me as much as Marshal's do. Marshal has the ability to be a big stat guy but TT has the ability to be a game changer in a different way. The 1 of a kind player way.

Perry Fewell to become co-head of NFL officiating

I watched that game and that injury was horrible to watch. But I seem to remember that there was controversy before that game because Shanahan didn't want to play him and was told that he had to play him or am I having one of those false memory moments where I'm confusing different memories and mixing them together? -

Carolina Panthers are STILL interested in Deshaun Watson
Panthers Rhule replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
I'm more than happy rolling with Darnold at the moment anyway regardless of what the Texans want. I like what I've seen from him so far. He seems to have a great attitude and work ethic. He appears to be working on not just his game but his role. I love hearing that he took responsibility for an offsides and ran the lap and I saw a photo where he and the whole line ran one together. That's leadership and character on display and it fits what has been said about him from ex-teammates and coaches. He's also off to a good start at camp and making some nice throws. I will enjoy seeing him revive his career and grow into a great QB as these other young Panthers grow into a great team. Things with the team look and feel pretty positive right now so no reason to mess things up by bringing in a negative situation. -

I personally can't imagine the Panthers giving up very much if anything at all to obtain Watson at this point. I am very suspicious of this "league source". Isd it the same guy that said Tepper would trade away the house and farm before the draft? Because I still haven't seen THAT Tepper yet. The one I've seen stays out of football decisions. -
Panthers Training Camp - Tuesday Camp Thread

Dude, you can see him launch himself at him as he was falling and drives his shoulder into his head and everyone around immediately stops and looks down and the coach charges at him screaming and throwing his hand at him. They aren't watching it on TV they are playing and it takes a second before anyone realizes what has happened but they all respond quickly. Especially the coach. He should be gone. -

How can you say they did not address the QB and OL positions when our number 1 QB is new and most of the OL is new as well? What you really should say is that they didn't address them the way that you think they should have. It's not the same thing.- 158 replies

I agree. It may even be possible that he just doesn't want to play for the Jets. He knows what they have just done to the last QB they drafted by trading him after only 3 seasons. He may decide that it's a better career move to sit out a season and sign somewhere else. -
Who Will Be Panthers Biggest 2021 Sleeper?
Panthers Rhule replied to KatsAzz's topic in Carolina Panthers
"Darnold playing better wouldn't be surprising either as most predict he will." That depends on which metric you are using. If you are using people's general opinions then you are correct. If you are using history then it would be correct to consider it a surprise as historically QBs that are considered failures after their first stint at the position do not succeed when they change teams. His success here would make him an exception to the norm which would be considered a surprise. -
I'm really big on our coaching staff and organization as a whole and I think we have many talented people working within the whole system but the more I see of the under the media DC Snow, the more I'm starting to think he may be my Fav. He comes across as this Defensive Scientist that knows all the formulas and will create whatever you want depending on the materials you give him. He doesn't seem like one of those ego guys dreaming of becoming HC. Just one of those Gurus who loves the Xs and Os of building a defense to make winning games possible.

How much of the Jets performance was really on Darnold?
Panthers Rhule replied to SBBlue's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yes but I think he will get a little longer leash due to his age. I really do believe that they see him much like a rookie they just drafted except that he has NFL experience but has never been properly coached. They basically said as much in the documentary and Rhule repeated something similar during a recent interview. Show progress from our coaching. I've added that he also has to show the Mojo or Swagger as many say because in the end wins are the bottom line. I personally believe he has the Mojo and with this team he is going to become the Franchise QB everyone thought he was. I've seen enough special plays from him to envision he becoming that guy with this organization. -

He just has to win games- and demonstrate that he can win more. This is why Teddy is gone. He didn't win games and the staff didn't believe that he had the Mojo to win games. If Sam shows he has the Mojo then he's gonna be here for awhile. -
Dude, he's listed at 250 before. He said he was bigger. He looked closer to 260 to me but perhaps he's 255 but he definitely isn't 240 as he's not smaller than last season.
-
Burns said he was bigger this season in the presser. He didn't specify but yeah, I'd say he was closer to 260 now.

Panthers Confidential - A Look Into the Panthers Offseason
Panthers Rhule replied to DeSim's topic in Carolina Panthers
No, the fans are just fine and have expressed how happy they are with this video and how much they enjoyed it and how much they love how we did things and how excited they are about this franchise moving forward. The idiots and trolls are the ones that won't stop until the Panthers release their draft board and all the scouting reports. But I have aggressively started my own personal Huddle cancel culture. People can say whatever they want and people that enjoy arguing over nonsense can feel free to have fun but that's not why I'm here. The great thing about the of season is it gives you an opportunity to identify posters and choose their validity to your experience. I was hesitant at first but now I have fully embraced my personal reason for being here. It started with the negative Nancies. The ones that just wait for anything positive and must respond with something negative. Not enjoyable to me. Ignored. Now it's the Fields' fanboys. Not the people who like Fields but the ones that can't get over the fact that our organization didn't and can't get over themselves long enough to not spew their anger at every opportunity they get. Ignored. My overall experience here just improves daily. I like legitimate discussions but I don't like arguments that play like broken records. Trolls only exist if you can see them. If not then they are only a figment of your imagination. Much like our interest in Fields. -
I think the black helmets are beautiful but you don't want to wear them in the Carolina heat. Also, we don't wear our black unis until later in the season at home for that very reason. So, I would love to see white helmets. I think they would look way better than the silver which I have always thought took away from our unis in every combination. White helmet with black panther highlighted with our blue is what I would choose.

Ron "learning from his mistakes" in Carolina
Panthers Rhule replied to ladypanther's topic in Carolina Panthers
I just love how the same people will say how great we were looking before Cam got hurt and give Cam a pass but they won't give Ron the same pass. I like Ron the person, he's a great guy. I think he's a good but not great coach. He can win, as he has demonstrated, if he has the right situation. I don't believe he ever had that in Carolina. I don't feel he ever got to do it "his" way. Most everyone here will say how bad Hurney was, well Ron had Hurney here for most of his time here. The other part was with Gman and we all can see how that's working out at NYG. He said our team got old fast and that's true but how bad were our drafts? During most of his tenure our drafts were bad. Yes, he had Cam. But let's be honest. Outside of Carolina Cam isn't considered and has not been considered a very good QB for most of his career. You can match his good seasons to Ron's. When Cam was bad, Ron didn't win. When Cam was good, Ron won. If Cam had been good every season would Ron have won every season? It's possible. Ron won the lowly NFC East with a great defense and a horrible offense last season and went to the playoffs. It appears he has more say at WFT than he did at Carolina. Before we completely judge Ron Rivera the coach, let's see how the WFT thing plays out. We shouldn't judge him 100% based solely on his time at Carolina because honestly, there were many problems around here during his time here. I'm not certain he was the biggest of those problems but only time will tell.
