OL is great if there's not a steal of a value on the board, but I think there will be one. This class is deep enough that Carolina can wait until the top of the third or make a trade like it did for Chinn last year if necessary to secure OL help.

Not only that, his Packers example is even worse. Taking Love was an enormous blunder. You think someone like Tee Higgins or Jeff Gladney could have made an impact for them at 30 while Love was standing their on the sidelines watching them lose to Tampa with a trip to the SB on the line instead? What is the basis for this assumption? I have seen it several times. Carolina picked 8th with an able but not very good game manager of a QB. If Darnold is genuinely bad, what are the chances Carolina is picking outside of the top 10-12?

That's just completely wrong, but okay, you're entitled to be wrong.

It's not betting the franchise on Darnold. It's betting a year on Darnold and seeing what you have with him. If he's bad, Carolina will be right back in position to take a QB next year.

Fields would be worth less than what Carolina spent on him. Drafting a QB is a terrible move for Carolina at this point. The only thing worse would be reaching for a bum like Jaycee Horn.

Because it's a waste of a pick. What if Darnold DOESN'T give way to Fields, and you've blown the 8th overall pick on a guy that never sees the field? There are too many needs on this roster to draft a QB.

Yep agree on all fronts. I think that's exactly correct. It will be Slater, trade down, or reach at CB for Carolina. Maybe Waddle is a darkhorse pick.

Well, and SCAR was so bad that teams were running the ball down their throats in the second half. I agree with your points. It's also worth pointing out that he packed it up in November because the team was bad and Muschump got fired. Sounds like a great team player!
