Bryce Young is the worst QB in Panthers History
Diehardpanth02 replied to dep's topic in Carolina Panthers
The stupid part about you folks that wanna hate on Bryce is that he is serviceable. Go back and watch film. Dave doesn’t do him any favors. Do I believe for certain Bryce is the answer hell naw, but should we hold the year 5 until we can find a replacement or at least competition yes. the coaching has left my head scratching all year long. Every situation where we are forced to be aggressive it has panned out for the most part. Hence Bryce leading the league in game winning drives. the problem is the coach waits until last minute to try and push the issue. And all game long Bryce is left with nothing but short yardage dump passes bc Dave is to scared to take a shot. 16 passes all season long completed past 15 yards. That’s a scheme problem. I’d venture to say the attempts or even the schemes were even more alarming. the jury is still out on Bryce for now IMO. Is he a world beater naw, but he showed progression this season. You know who didn’t? dave Canales and ejiro evero. -
I’d rather “shackle” another coach to Bryce until we can find his replacement rather than cut him loose to watch him go to a capable coach and win. Like baker and Sam. we need to tell Dave to find an OC to call plays or go find somewhere else if he wants to stay if not cut him out right. And as much as our defense has saved us I’m ready for evero to go to. How many times do we have to watch us get beat on 3rd and long to a screen or a run play before pressing coverage and at least making the offense earn it before we try something different.

It can’t be on anything other than play calling. We start taking chances bc we have to and look what happens every game that we have one was bc we were forced in a position to throw the ball down the field. dave plays with a tight butthole bc he’s terrified

How can you count this game on Bryce? honestly, the interception is the only bad play. But a good coach that knows your QB struggles being on time on a deep out maybe don’t try that Fuggin play. other than that he played great today. And gave this team an opportunity. The scheme and the ideas this offense tries to run is so counteractive to the abilities of this team. We have big receivers, take a Fuggin chance so they don’t sit on the out route the maybe it works? how about instead of running a gap all game and getting stuffed try a counter, a stretch or a lead off tackle. I can show you countless times where Dave forces the game to be played in tightwindows and refuses to take a shot to keep the defense on their heels. the stupid flee flicker or fumble whatever the hell it was is a prime example. The next drive down Bryce throws a dime to Coker to score and give us a chance. the Bryce hate is fine, but Dave plays a part. Bryce can hold it down until we find another guy, but Dave is a bigger problem IMO.

Lost to the saints twice. lost to the seahawks lost to the bucs IMO it’s all on Dave canales. I know the refs had played their part. But the conservative play calling continues to bite us in the a$$. You can’t wait until the last 5 mins of a game to take a shot. I know there is a ton of Bryce haters on this board and at moments I’ve been one. But I think when you go back and look at the season Dave forced him to play in a 10 yard box all season under pressure. Runs when we need to pass, pass when we need to run. Gets fancy when the basics are beating the defense. Evero also play 15yards off the ball in 3rd and long. We are 8-9 and counting on the mfn falcons to win bc the coaching staff is scared shitless to take a chance. this is by far the most frustrating season I’ve ever witnessed bc we had the ability to win the division but couldn’t get out of our own way. I’m not optimistic as long as Dave Canales controls the game. No matter who’s under center or who is on the roster. Dan has some holes to fill this offseason but he’s building a sound roster now get somebody in here that knows wtf to do with it. also the refs can go get fugged by Vegas zero hope in charlotte even when there should be. 8-9 is an improvement from last year but a let down from what the potential was

Dave Canales killing me with his play calling!
Diehardpanth02 replied to Dragoon11's topic in Carolina Panthers
Dave is 1000% the problem. He waits until last minute to try and take a shot. I don’t even believe Bryce is the problem anymore. Go try and play QB on madden forced to play in a 10 yard window with pressure and nothing but check down routes. bryce has had me livid in moments but when he’s free to play something good happens more often than not. I’m good with the 5th year, but Dave has got to wake tf up or gtfo -

Robert Hunt Practice Window Activated
Diehardpanth02 replied to falconlynx's topic in Carolina Panthers
To be fair that’s on Bryce more than anything. If he knows that’s happening get that foot out of there pre-snap -
I think that’s the point you’re missing. We have a young nucleus that can step into many roles and perform. Which is what you said we lacked for years once we lost our vets. Now we can look for impact players through free agency and draft and focus on the more important aspects that make us a good ball team. We are fighting for a division title without that. So this off season is really the one that is the biggest for us. If we hit on 2 or 3 impact guys. This is a brand new and improved ball team. lets not act like the rookies and young talent we’ve got, isn’t going to be big in helping us get to the next level. The best teams have talent through the whole 53 and even the practice squad.

NFL admits the TMac catch should not have been overturned
Diehardpanth02 replied to PanthersATL's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yeah man, that was a catch. I like to imagine the game isn’t rigged but it’s well known sports betting is ruining the sport. Unfortunately, most coaches plan for 3 phases of the game. But there is really 4, offense, defense, special teams, and special occasions. on special occasions the refs can influence the game, leaving you in positions your actively planning to stay out of and how you respond in those special occasions make or break the game. Other times it’s other reasons. But I like to hope that the right team, or right player can extend past those types of setbacks and still find a way. anywho, probably a pipe dream. But it’s how I see it. -

This feels like we need to run play action early they’re diving on the first down runs to try and keep us behind the chains. Shallow cross would kill them and corners for TDs. Also, sets up shorter running downs on 2nd -
I am so tired of watching rigged games

Is this the best timed ‘bye’ we’ve ever had
Diehardpanth02 replied to TheBigKat's topic in Carolina Panthers
You ain’t wrong. But the Linebackers do help. Experience alone can make a big difference -
I’ve been saying it all along. It’s back to the elementary style of football it once was, sans the air attack. Back when you played with your boys, for your school, or even in the back yard. it is encouraging and cool to see. You do still need and benefit greatly from a general at the QB position though to keep the run defense honest. QB will always be the most important position in the game. That’s the stakes of what we are living with Bryce . You have to be willing to live and die with it, or find a way to survive. You keep paying him until you find one better. And I think as a franchise drafting one says all you need to say. It makes it known every spot is earned.

Scott FOWLER on Chuba in Observer
Diehardpanth02 replied to raleigh-panther's topic in Carolina Panthers
If a running back touches the ball and gets four plus yards on 3 or 4 carries you keep giving him the ball until they stop you. that’s why I was so pissed with canales in the nines game. Our running backs YPC was almost double cmcs in that game. We had the better backs in a rushing ball game and they didn’t give him the ball. careful tho I said better backs in a ball game. 10/10 if I had my pick I’m taking CMC dude is just insanely good -
Yeah wallace is a let down. He came from underneath some of the good linebacking crews we have had. Behind Shaq, and Luke. And honestly I just don’t think he has the strength or the awareness to supplement his speed. Seems like a somewhat ok coverage backer. but man do we need a solid Mike bad.
-
So the 5th year option minimum is 40 Mill, what is the average amongst NFL teams expense on a QB, like relatively speaking. I’ve not ever really looked into the money and just accepted it’s reality tv LOL. but I still love the game and hold out hope it’s real.
-
That changes things.
-
Damn, as bad as it sounds you right. And he will probably make us regret it just like Sam and Baker LOL but I feel like we have lost on the trades we have made for him and this may be the best way to cut our losses. he’s just so confusing man. Some days he is incredible and then some days he looks like he don’t belong.
-
This is a hot take. They’re both very good running backs. Pissed Mcvay off pretty good with them. chuba was the hot hand today. as long as we keep the guy on the field who’s making the most ground, and sprinkle in the other at the right situation we can really pick apart teams. i think Rico is a bit banged up remember he carried us through the Chuba injury this is why you need two good running backs. And teams draft them every chance they can late. i still think Dave can improve here. He has to be able to recognize who is the hot hand sooner. Rico was banged up the first couple plays of the game. And Chuba was churning out hard earned yards. Start Rico, and if it becomes a 4 yard and cloud of dust game put in Chuba. chuba won some very hard earned first downs today. I was grateful he’s there today.
-
It really has. funny thing is bc Tet only had one catch today people have not said one word about him today and it was for an almost 50yd TD catch on 4th down LOL theyre making the plays that are presented to them. That’s the best part. also, Mike Jackson has just been solid af with us. He makes ya mad sometimes but damnit he makes plays too. i like this roster. we are an edge and a mike away

Diehardpanth02 replied to rodeo's topic in Carolina Panthers
Is that true! -
I think we gotta roll with Dave. He’s had his head scratchers, but I think that is him trying to limit the mistakes with Bryce. We can be aggressive and trust his gut we are usually in a good place. now on to the problem. Bryce. Unfortunately we have to take the 5th year on Bryce. We can’t afford to go into the season with dalton as back up though. I think we need a vet that can threaten him, that fits well with the scheme. And then draft a QB. I really hope we don’t offer Bryce a long term deal though, but this team is a few pieces away from being really good and QB is one of them. hopefully we can retain Evero. I think he’s shown us what he can do when he has the personnel I like. We get him a good linebacker that can assist in the run game plus a good pass rushing DE and we have a top 10 defense. LB, DE, QB and OL should be our top priorities moving forward. But to be quite honest I’m hopeful. I just don’t know what the heck Bryce is. And unfortunately he hasn’t shown much up until this season, and even still I feel he is mediocre at best. But if you build the right roster around him we may could still make a push. but damnit a drake maye style guys sets us over the top and back in contender conversations
