What matters: a QB’s talent or their situation?
Jackie Lee replied to Tbe's topic in Carolina Panthers
It's tricky because say the Chiefs, they were a good roster but couldn't win the Super Bowl until they got Mahomes. Though now with the O-line falling apart Mahomes obviously can only do so much himself, and now with Tyreek leaving it'll be interesting to see how much a dent that puts in his QB numbers. -
Chris Simms top QB is Matt Corral and why you should listen
Jackie Lee replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
After watching his breakdown I don't really want any of these guys except a trade back and gamble on Malik, but at least 2 of these guys are getting drafted in the top 10 purely out of desperation at the position. I really don't like how he broke down Picketts thumb issue/glove compensation and how that gives him that weird over the top throwing motion and limits his ability to throw sidearm -
As bad a take as Rhule still claiming Slater isn't a Left Tackle

Can we make a post threshold for being able to make new threads? We can't curse but have to subjugate ourselves to clicking on this garbage?

And no one would offer to pay you $20-40M a year if you couldn't handle the mental pressure, nature of the business
-
Robby restructure pushed $5M to next year, CMC the same, Donte bonus pushed $5M back and his cap is only $6M this year, Bozeman was only $3M total when we were assuming $8ish. So yeah added $15M to next years hit to keep room for now but if we don't spend the money it'll carry over

Just started watching but why had McDaniels been on the floor for like 6 minutes? JB makes some weird ass decisions

The Niners offered a first round pick for Darnold last season?
Jackie Lee replied to Proudiddy's topic in Carolina Panthers
Instead of just linking it he had to go here haha. That was my question mark -

NY Daily News is a borderline tabloid so I'm going 50/50 true. They're known more for their witty front page reactions than actual journalism -
Especially going 3rd in the pro day order. Plenty of tips to pick up from the first two days, and they didn't even start til 3pm. Also didn't have good chemistry with his receivers mentally or physically, despite all his talk of being a team guy or whatever. Pickett was all business and Malik was having a good time and encouraging his guys, I like both those approaches better than whatever we just watched

We're probably looking at a quality career backup in Pickett, Gamble with Willis, and an often injured Mayfield/Heinicke journeyman type in Corral

Scouting reports for the top three quarterbacks
Jackie Lee replied to Verge's topic in Carolina Panthers
Also because we had a run of Herbert/Burrow/Jones/Watson/Mahommes/Tua/Trevor/Wilson etc in the last 5 years expectations are high. Feels like there was a good 5-10 year stretch before that where you were getting maybe 1 starter/non bust a year on average, or teams just had there long term Vet from the early 2000's and were set -

After the Senior Bowl and Pro Days I would say Willis #1 in leadership/hyping guys up. Willis was telling his WR's to brush off the drops and was really excited they were getting a chance to perform in front of national media. Corral just looked kinda bossy with his guys, and irritated about the routes/accuracy whatever the actual issue was today. Don't remember the chemistry with Pickett's pro day, was the most business like. -
It wasn't a very professional pro day, from the accuracy, to the routes, tempo, everything. Every aspect of it was not great compared to Malik and Pickett. Only pro's really were his quick release and he looks healthy.
-
The whole tempo of the workout and the camera made it pretty blah. Accuracy was either not great or they didn't practice the routes enough before hand.

Missing on all these deep throws
-
Looks like he put on a few pounds. I think he went from 205 to 212
-
Yup remember when it was all Rattler and Howell? Pickett was projected like 5th round by some people in 21', that's why he went back for a 5th year at Pitt. At least Corral and Malik were mentioned in some articles. Desmond Ridder is the only guy that's kinda stayed around the 2nd round the whole time

POLL: What Will It Take For You To Be OK With Keeping Rhule?
Jackie Lee replied to travisura's topic in Carolina Panthers
If we make it to the playoffs it will be in spite of Rhule wandering around the sidelines doing whatever he does. Losing control over FA and hiring a new somewhat competent OC weren't Rhules ideas, probably more like Tepper demands. -
He won't be that scary catching 5 yard slants from Tua/Teddy
-
In doing mock drafts, trading out of the top 11-12 sucks. So does not having a 2nd or 3rd round pick. Not a fun year to run draft simulations.
-
Maybe if the Dolphins had Herbert/Burrow on the cheap and you want that 3 year window to get a ring..Tua and Teddy though, I dunno if they can even make use of Tyreek's full skill set
-
He tossed a 77 yarder in one qb competition, wonder if he's gonna go for that after Malik's bomb yesterday.
-
He's gonna be catching check down's from Teddy by week 5
