  1. I mean if Josh Allen's rushing ability remained a threat at the next level why wouldn't Willis? Is he slower than Allen?
  2. except Willis isn't all that inaccurate which is why teams are falling in love with him
  3. It is speculating... but it looks a lot like what San Francisco did last year to aquire trey Lance. If you want to say Daniel Jeremiah doesn't know poo... that's fine. But it's easy to see someone falling in love with Willis's tools.. there is NO better option this year.. if you need to gamble on qb why not gamble on the biggest arm and fastest playmaker. Doesn't mean it's right or the right choice but it's definitely tempting..
  4. I mean I know you and a lot of guys who look at things the old fashion way can't see it. But the NFL is taking notice and things are in motion... teams are making moves and gearing up to make thing happen.. that usually means qb.. And no that isn't Pickett
  5. My infatuation is he can run fast a top 5 threat on the ground instantly. And he has a top 10 arm in the league instantly. That's potential. The fact you think he isn't accurate based on what? The Ole Miss game?
  6. Sounds like Josh Allen and trey Lance... Cam Newton are Blinn... I mean if you can ball and have the traits they are just there... scrubs or not.
  7. This isn't the same line as last season. You signed 2 guys Bozeman and the rams guard. If you plug Christensen in at LT you basically have a decent shot at already having upgraded...
  8. OK I see you using this Tarkenton, Staubach defense with good success but let's look at those guys.those guys were the "runners" of there day and my response to that is they aren't even in the same stratosphere as vick or cam as a runner. With 60 carries being the most either has had in a season neither even getting 500 yards.
  9. I dunno man... it seems like people think he's more dangerous than we do.
  10. I don't think he's 4.3 either agreed. But I think the case can be made he's as fast as CMC who isn't blazing himself and gets ran down by faster guys on the regular at about 4.48. Cam ran a 4.53 at best time in the combine I think Willis at the least is that.
  11. I mean what are we basing this off of because his on field speed has been timed equal to kyler.. that's atleast 4.4.. but the guy in the article seems to think he's even faster at about 4.39 or so
  12. Nobody is afraid of hitting nick chubb and those other guys but their tackles get broken regardless...
  13. Hurts, Mariota, RG3 are failed examples. But my point is the success of the aforementioned lead to coaches trying to find their own version. Even if it was a cheap knockoff. The reason I can't say Luke changed the game at linebacker because he played the game exactly the way it has always been played but was very good at it. You can't say that at Cam because, look at the deigned runs, the RPOs used to fake defenses into thinking his patented power goalline rush was coming and instead he throws. Things like that you weren't really afraid of with Brady or Stafford whoever... you don't defend Cam in the readzone the way you defend those other guys. I think that difficulty absolutely made coaches say I want 1 of those. Do you think people stopped being born that can't run and throw from the pocket? No... in college anyway, it's easier to win with a guy who can run and throw vs a guy who can't move at all. That has infiltrated the league. The pocket passer is now that the mobile qb use to be.
  14. I think Vick.. Cam Newton those guys what they do with the ball is generational. Would both go number 1 if their classes could be done over again? Probably. Why we don't see more vicks and Cams is because they are generational talents. You can take a fast guy and put him at qb but can he throw it 80 yards like vick? Or a big guy at qb but can he run like Cam? Or as fast? Those guys Changed the position because they made scheming against them headaches and nightmares. Even if you defeated them you could just play them like any other qb.. they needed their own specific template. I don't think you get to Cam Newton without Vick opening the door to the dual threat.. You don't get to the rise of the RPO dual threat system we see all over the league now. Without Cam does RG3 go number 2 the following year? Guys like Hurbert who were seen as runners in college, Lamar jackson, Marcus Mariota, Jalen Hurts all these guys don't go as high as they did in the draft without the success of Cam Newton. That's what I mean by changed the position.
  15. I mean Howell isn't exactly immobile himself I don't think.. he definitely deserves to run a few rpos and options
  16. I feel like people seem to underrate Willis's ability as a runner... I see lazy comparisons to Johnny football guys who run a 4.7. People have a hard to comparing Willis to a guy because we really have never seen a guy with his blend of skills. This writer has him top 5 all-time as a runner from the position. If your that good at something that makes you special. He's not Vick or Jackson elite speed, but he's faster than Josh allen and Russell Wilson. He runs with a power neither of those guys can come close 2(vick and jackson).Willis was second in broken tackles last season with legs like tree trunks its not hard to see why. Interesting read up on QB1 https://www.nbcsportsedge.com/article/nfl-draft-analysis/2022-nfl-draft-rankings-qb1-malik-willis
  17. But I think the reverse is also true. Having mobility can make you dangerous enough without being Tom Brady. I'm not saying throwing isn't the ultimate win all be all whatever. But pin point drop back passers aren't growing on trees... clearly from this year's class those type of talents just aren't a option this season. What mixture of tools can I use to make up for that? As much as people hate to admit it the game just isn't played the way it use to be... Our own Cam Newton Changed the position forever..
  18. I don't think a franchise who has NEVER won back to back winning season says yeah you make the playoffs every year but it's getting old. There is no perfect situation where a single gb automatically wins you ever single playogf game. But if he has proven to have the formula to get you there consistently and win consistently maybe you need to tweak your formula. Because you and the guys sound like Jackson is the reason your not winning in the playoffs. Wins and losses are not a qb statistic. If that's the case Brady wouldn't have left new England. But you plug him into the bucs and bam. He needed the right parts around him. You could make the same argument for Jackson.
  19. I think arguing about a guy who has taken his team to the playoffs every single year of his career is elite or a top 10 qb is crazy... if he wasn't getting it done they would replace him.
  20. That's all I'm saying. If you go LT I get it. Neal, Icky, cross to a lesser degree. But if you looking Qb it's a gamble and the gamble has to be Willis.
  21. He's behind a guy that was good enough... Jimmy G is a starter somewhere. Which is why I said all these guys who were drafted in the first didn't I even mention Jimmy G?
  22. I mean I don't really love Lamar. But when you 2 bring up "running qb" isn't he the face of running qbs today? Like he's the highest standard of running qb. So I use him to further my argument. If the ravens make the playoffs every single year with a running qb and we have never done that as a franchise... Doesn't that mean that you can can compete with a running qb.. he at the least gets you to the dance. Willis is not a slam dunk or Trevor Lawrence. But his God given tools give us the most to work with. Having more tools and options to win games(arm and legs) are better than just 1.
