  1. He must show in practice, because I have never seen it in any game, preseason or otherwise. He'll get another shot next week with the 2s I'm told. Maybe we'll all get to see the reason we keep him. If he does well, for me, it just makes the decision more complicated. Guess we'll see.
  2. Are you complaining about my complaining about their complaining? Cool. Well its MY opinion that the mods shouldn't be getting pie-d by the trolls we just banned. And its MY opinion that we should hold our powder on attacking the GM, coach and Darnold until we see how we do. And its my opinion that if they want to bitch daily about the team, then I can bitch daily about them. So if you think that all opinions are OK, then deal. The thread noted a change here. My point, is the change I noticed was that the mods have turned negative on the team. Your point is they are entitled to. My point is that I didn't say they weren't entitled to. They can bitch about the team, and I can bitch about them. It'll be great.
  3. There is a HUGE difference between having an opinion and DAILY bitching about the offensive line, the 1 year coach, the 6 month GM, and QB who has not had a chance show us ANYTHING.
  4. I'm not saying the OL was awesome. They were decent. I'd love for he full pressure numbers, if you know where go get them. I The predictions around here were that the QB would get "killed", and that they were backups to TRASH. Is that how you would describe yesterday?
  5. I'm going to say the first half offensive line: Scott, Maskey, Tecklenburg, Deonte Brown and Brady Christensen. They allowed 0 sacks, 0 FF, 161 yards passing with 0 interceptions and 80 yds rushing from the RB while the QB didn't have to run for a single yard. Was it perfect? No. Were there penalties? Yes. But extrapolate that out to a whole game and we would have blown them out. With as much trash the huddle has given our O line, I think a thanks is due when they do decent.
  6. LOL uhhggg, I tried to pie your post. LOL Thanks! PIE
  7. Fair enough. I think he looked better this time. If something better comes along, I have no attachment to PJ.
  8. I agree. Our run blocking is atrocious. It was last year. The wide zone experiment did NOT look good. That said, we had more yards running in the first than second half. The RB has to be able to explode and cut off the block and I saw a couple of times where the cut was there, but Brown missed it or hesitated. If we fix this, we will be good. Everyone is worried about the offensive line in pass pro and Darnold. I'm not. I'm worried about establishing a run game and getting CMC just the little bit of room he needs. Our YBC was trash last year.
  9. You have to be able to catch zips in the NFL. Defenders close gaps fast. Cam zipped the ball too, and you're right it causes incompletions, but reduces the chance they jump the route. Receivers in the NFL have to learn to catch the zips. PJ had a rating of 89.6 yesterday. I can live with that from a backup. If someone better comes along, I'm with fine upgrading too. Between Grier and PJ, its PJ.
  10. I'm fine with that. Its preseason. But it just seems every time he takes the field, there's a new excuse. I hope if he sucks next week, that we cut the cord.
  11. Darnold sucked yesterday too. He cant even stand on the sideline right. The guy looked like an idiot. I can tell you now we're going to lose 6 games just because of his sidelines presence. /sarcasm
  12. YES That was a crucial must-win preseason game against a playoff/winning team in another division, in the other conference. We had to have it. And Rhule, that idiot, sat the starters because there were ABSOULTELY NO injuries. No one gets hurt in preseason games, Cam was faking those years ago. Damn offensive line looked like swiss cheese. Our QB must have been hit/sacked 100 times. They were running for their lives. If only we drafted offensive line in the first 3 rounds because Horn didn't even play, and Marshal, Christiansen and Tremble were TRASH. If we had gone with my mock-draft offensive line players for the first three rounds instead, and played them today we wouldn't have been sacked once. Do you think Rhule is in the hot seat with Tepper? I knew his college style wouldn't translate. When can we get rid of him and Fit? Then we can get whoever I wanted. Fields looked good the other day though. Maybe we can work out a trade. /sarcasm And yes I had to put the tag there because some of you think like this.
  13. Will Grier needs to be more accurate on 3rd down. He would have extend his drives, gotten more shots and had more than 33 yards passing. We did run the ball more on 1st and 2nd down the second half, but you have to make those throws. Instead they were mostly uncatchable. Apparently he'll play with the 2s next week, so I expect we'll be playing catch up in the 2nd half.
  14. I can't pie. sooo PIE. Yes, it certainly wasn't disaster that some predicted.
  15. Damn it. I'm out of pie. YES. I agree. It gets old. Look, I'm all for disagreeing on strategy and facts. But predicting failure not just of this QB, but also after this one fails, the next one, its ridiculous. The oline whine, though not unfounded, is just incessant. We had 1 sack, threw 0 ints and suffered 0 QB fumbles in the Colts preseason game. Are they on here eating crow when they said that our QB was going to get "killed" because the backups to our trash offensive line must REALLY be trash? No, they're bitching because the 1s didn't start. I guess the Colts are doing it wrong too, they barely played their ones. When a mod said we don't even have a QB, that's when I put him on ignore. We had an intervention with one a while ago because he said he was just doing it to piss off people. When you're a mod and you're getting pied regularly by Chuck and the trolls, you're doing it wrong.
  16. a0e7jjsuotyozwx4o33n.pdf (nfl.com) The backups to our offensive line did NOT get our QB killed as some predicted. You know who you are. They are both alive and well, last I checked. PJ wasn't sacked at all and Grier was sacked once for 2 yards. Neither turned the ball over AT ALL. No ints and no fumbles were caused because the offensive line failed to do its job. Was it perfect? No. Was it the horror show that some predicted...NO, far from it. I don't have the pressure numbers, if anyone has them, I'd love to see, but from watching the game, I'd be more worried about their backup offensive line than ours. This doesn't mean our offensive line is great, but I think its ok to say the offensive line was not trash yesterday.
  17. I've read here for a long long time. What's new is the negativity from some of the mods. I don't remember moderators claiming we don't even have a QB, before the new QB takes a snap. A couple mods are complaining daily about the coach, the line and Darnold. Predicting failure over and over, and that Rhule will whiff not just with Darnold, but the next QB he picks. It just gets old. They were saying that our backup line was going to get our QB's killed today. There was one sack. Today the line held, we had trouble running the ball, just like last year. Hubbard compensated, just like CMC will.
  18. If you see absolutely nothing positive, then why should someone who sees some bright spots engage you? My hope IS based on facts. When they are constantly predicting failure here, and then saying anyone who disagrees them isn't looking at the facts, even when facts are presented, it's REALLY hard to believe they have any hope. Or more accurately, they are HOPING for failure. One on here admitted he hopes Darnold fails because he has money on the line. You would think. They already move the goalposts, saying worst case scenario isn't being bad, its improving to just average. If we're not a winning team, we should tank or we screw ourselves in the draft. Depends what you mean. We SHOULD CELEBRATE WINS. That said, beating the jets doesn't mean we're SB bound either. Don't sleep on the jets, they are a much better team on paper now and beat 2 winning teams last year.
  19. You shouldn't have the ignore the mods who just routinely rip on our QB and whine about the Oline, and bitch about the coach. The reason the trolls are louder here now is because 2 of them are mods.
  20. Slye did NOT look good today. At the point I'm worried that the PAT is going to hit the upright, that's a problem. I think one of his FG was a gift from the refs. We need to keep our options open, because I'm beginning to wonder if Slye is the guy.
  21. I call em as I see them. I've watched Darnold play and I'm pretty confident he's going to play better than PJ.
