  1. Doing a little Monday morning QB work today and was thinking... After the first two TD passes why weren't our CB's instructed to just pass interfere Evans if he got by? Just push him outta bounds and take the flag. We held up in the red zone all day long, even blocked a damn field goal. If we take away the TD's on the long passes we could have turned 21 points into 13 or 17
  2. My opinion on Wilks didn't change all that much after yesterday. I would still make Wilks the default option, but would take a big name like Payton or Harbaugh over him. Otherwise if your suggestions are someone like Dan Quinn then i definitely want Wilks. As for offensive guys, I would be interested in moving in that direction for the first time, but at this point i am tired of hearing "offensive guru" and want to see names named so we can actually do a comparison. Sure Wilks doesn't measure up to the mythical offensive guru/next Sean McVay/wunderkind that everyone has in their heads right now. But how does Wilks measure up to the ACTUAL candidates we will have an opportunity to hire? I want more track record than just whatever offensive coordinator was tied to a good offense this season.
  3. These are also the only two scenarios I see happening, which is why when the line opened up at YB -5.5 I was stunned. Kinda worries me that much money came in on Tampa to generate a line like that, they haven't beaten anyone by 6 points since October.
  4. What exactly is the big risk of him playing in a cast? Wouldn't the worst case scenario be a full break that would be healed up before next year's training camp? I mean, a catastrophic break could have an impact on his long term career, but you'd have to tell me the odds of that happening are now 5X the normal risk for a freak injury like that before I wouldn't "risk" playing him.
  5. Man what a fun day to be in BoA! The cold was honestly not as bad as the heat is those first few weeks of the year. It feels SO GOOD to still have football to care about this time of year, hopefully the boys go on the road and bring us back a division title and another home game!
  6. I only really know a lot about the Panthers and the rest of the NFC south, my football knowledge drops off hard beyond that.
  7. My biggest takeaway is that i have no idea who #18 is for the Steelers but he looked better than any receiver this franchise has had since Steve Smith.
  8. Well it's just disgusting to see this much black and yellow in here. But on a positive note, the Steelers fans in front of me picked up and moved somewhere else after just one Steelers possession. Guess they didn't wanna hear me scream for 4 quarters haha
  9. I'd Take Jim Harbaugh or Sean Payton over Wilks maybe, but that's about it. Maaaayybeee the eagles OC, but anyone after that is an emphatic NO over Wilks.
  10. Sounds like this is the next trend that needs breaking. I'll be doing my part to make black and yellow clad fans in my section regret their decision to purchase seats in section 204. Gonna be hearing my voice on defense all game long.
  11. I wanted to make a thread to highlight some of the recent accomplishments of this team. I think most everyone has been impressed with Wilks performance so far, but it's more than just having us in the playoff conversation. Here are a few trends we have bucked since he took over, but I'm sure there are others I've missed so feel free to add any other trends you've seen reverse course recently. 1)we finally got a win over Brady in a BUCS uniform. We took him back to .500 all time in our house 2) We have defended the bank, we have a three game home winning streak and have won all our divisional home games. When building a winning culture you start here and Wilks is undefeated at home 3) We beat Russel Wilson, and the Seahawks...AND the broncos. I don't have to explain to most of you how much we've struggled vs seattle in the past. Going in there and winning a game was a huge statement win by this team. Beating them and the Broncos feels cathartic, old demons put to rest 4)We won a game yesterday despite allowing more than 17 points, another trend put to rest hopefully 5)We played the best first quarter in a long long time yesterday. All three phases were hitting and Seattle was not ready. 6)We are getting hot at the right time. Did either of the first two Rhule seasons have more than 1 or 2 wins after the halfway point in the season? We're back to being a November/December team But the most important thing isn't a stat you can point to. It isn't a specific player, or even the win loss column. The most important thing is that yesterday that team embodied Keep Pounding. It wasn't just a mantra written on the jersey, it was a spirit you could feel on every run play. That last TD drive we could not be stopped, and that's the kind of energy you need this time of year. If Wilks keeps them playing like this we are NOT a team you want to come play against in the playoffs.
  12. Lol that reach over the goaline is the exclamation point on how different this team is with new coaching
  13. Best 1st quarter of the entire season. December is a good time of year to start playing your best football. Gotta keep pounding though, three more to go.
  14. You can't install a new offense in the middle of a season. Even if you fire McAdoo you're stuck running his offense, so might as well be him calling it. I don't think anyone is of the impression he should stick around even if Wilks does.
  15. The argument for me now has to come down to specific names. I'm about 90% sold on Wilks and would take him over any of the following options -Any college coach -Any defensive minded coach not named Bill -Anyone super unproven (less than 2 years of proven success calling an offence) That basically leaves Sean Payton (who I despise but do think is a great offensive guru) or someone like him as the only type of coach I would be ok with passing up Wilks for. If they were to pass on Wilks to hire someone like Dan Quinn that would be idiotic in my opinion.
  16. Who are you scared of exactly? The giants? The Seahawks? Cowboys? There is absolutely no reason we can't get a home playoff game, and if this team plays well enough to get them there's no reason they can't win a home playoff game either. I do not want to see San Francisco again, that's the one team I'd feel very bad getting here in the wild card round. Everyone else is beatable.
  17. 3 straight home victories. We have not won three home games in a row since the start of the 2018 season. Say what you will about draft picks but learning how to win at home, especially those division games, is key to competing in this league, and we're learning!
  18. No it wasnt prompted. I think someone in the upper deck got it going cause it started there. Cam would lead the wave back in the day so MAYBE a player did but I think it was just fans
  19. Can confirm, people started cheering loudly all of a sudden and it was cause the wave was starting up.
  20. Someone got the wave going on here for the first time I believe since Cam Newton starting it up back in the day. People are having fun at Panthers games again!
  21. Also the score board operator needs to be replaced, they have gotten the down and distance wrong several times now. I'm sure the team is not as confused as I am in the stands but this isn't something that you can be messing up.
  22. Wind is gusting pretty hard in the stadium, looked like that pass to DJ was blown off course.
  23. It's hard not to think there's a good chance this looks like the Cincinnati game, which makes even that big spread look not so easy to cover. We haven't seen the Panthers play well against anyone not in the NFC south aside from maybe the first two games of the season. And we haven't seen anything good from Baker at all aside from the 4th quarter vs Cleveland. There's is a path to victory here though if we can establish a run game and not get behind early. Ravens have let go of some big 4th quarter leads and could be sleeping on us coming off their bye week. Keep it close into the 4th quarter and we have a chance to steal one, but a loss definitely seems the most likely outcome. But good news for non-tankers, this is by far our toughest remaining game on the schedule, it's easier from here on out.
