You are getting somewhere but just ignoring the elephant in the room still. It's true we haven't invested dollars into TE and WRs, but that's because we drafted heavily there and chose to spend it on the offensive line (which is a must & also has helped Bryce immensely) and defense (which was desperately needed). You can't just pay money everywhere & there is isn't much to find in FA with WR & TE as we've learned, the QB has to elevate these guys at some point. There is talent there, in fact that talent actually stepped up and made a few plays last week. But the QB still is responsible for making the offense function and he struggles to do that on a basic level. His inconsistent mechanics mess with timing, his weak arm puts his guys in a bad position frequently, his deep field accuracy is just poor. He still doesn't have a command of the offense pre-snap at times. I'd say his weapons let him down sometimes, TMac has an obsession with trying one handed catches for no reason, Jimmy Horn can barely line up properly pre-snap, XL has been inconsistent at best, Coker injured, Renfrow pops here and there but is clearly a veteran. TEs have been a rotating cast of guys, but Evans made something work on Sunday. Most of the great QBs have had a great WR or TE to go along with them. But they BOTH are great together and that makes it so productive. Bryce just isn't great and therefore isn't that productive. You guys keep thinking he can't have an explosive game with awesome, eye-popping statistics because of his teammates when it's really just him. I truly think TMac might end up being a very, very good football player for us. Bryce can't even get this guy a Touchdown for us yet. This is one of the big reasons it would help answer a lot of questions if we could see the same offense with another NFL QB in there that is actually decent.

cam Newton makes his return to Madden football
Panthering replied to micnificent28's topic in Carolina Panthers
I used to be an Ultimate Team guy but only in FIFA, which has now been totally ruined from what I've seen. Cool to see Cam as a "Legacy" player in Madden even if it dates me a little bit now. -
He does that every game, space gets tight in the pocket, or he's rolling out and being chased so he can't generate momentum with his body as easily (two situations that happen aplenty in the NFL) and the ball dies like a dead duck and skips 5 yards in front of the receiver who is 10-15 yards away. It's incredibly embarrassing to think of how much we gave up for that when it's such a common NFL play. One thing to always ask yourself about a QB pre-draft, if the interior line is losing leverage and you cannot step into your throw, can you still stand tall and deliver a strike to an out route 10 yards away? Yes or No? Bryce cannot due to his physical limitations. Obviously other things to consider at QB but that's a big one for me. I cannot imagine how bizarre it is to watch in person, I've seen multiple people on social media talk about how underwhelming he looks in person. If that's what it took for Tepper to forever remove himself and his wife out of football decisions then maybe that'll be alright long term, but my god man, you totally jacked this franchise up with that trade. Thank goodness Morgans draft picks are stepping up this year, because it could easily be worse than it is.

The youth movement in full effect, early returns are good for steering the season in that direction. Good on staff for acknowledging that and moving forward with it.

I can't believe he tried to Chris Webber us before halftime, those little things are infuriating to watch in Year 3. He loses control and panics presnap too often I hate it. Did well enough to get the game over the line second half but its so unnecessary because of his first half miscues.

The timeline where Maye is a Panther is so easily accessible. Tepper doesn’t even care either
-
He turned it around second half and was a part of winning the game. Easily buys him another week even though he has clear limitations and somehow doesn’t have command of the offense in year 3.

Great birthday present and it was a Gamecock delivering the goods today to boot!

Nate Tice Nails the Limitations of the Offense

How did you post these X posts embedded like that? I could only figure out just the link (as you can see from my post here, makes me feel old) -
Legette “I can’t say I sat back and learned anything”
Panthering replied to *FreeFua*'s topic in Carolina Panthers
Well.... we knew he wasn't modern media trained -
Acting like a complete clown and wonders why he doesn't get the start lol. Literally being a mime to media is hilarious though, just glad it's not on our team.

Nate Tice Nails the Limitations of the Offense

What's been shocking this season is how quiet the media is about Bryce this season. We saw an article come out from NYT this week but that's because it was a Patriots writer and this Tice clip is about all I could find. Most other convos from the bigger outlets were mostly focused on the Pats or the Panthers as a whole. -

And what should that tell you? He is terrible and not ready. The list of QBs I would not welcome to Carolina is so small but Shedeur is one of them.

I mean, it's a start. Guy was somehow worse than a replacement level player. Straight up fired after they reviewed tape, that's rough for him.

Map/Mock-up the Panthers path out of the cellar
Panthering replied to Bear Hands's topic in Carolina Panthers
Trevin & CSW are not our two worst defenders, that's just incorrect. Brooks & XL picks were terrible I agree, people dragged it at the time too. I agree with the rest, he tried to sign for pass rush but that isn't just available in FA and did what he could with O-line which I think was fine. Morgan trading for Mike Jackson was quite good, and I like his 2025 draft class so far. Robert Hunt getting hurt early in the season pretty much ruined any hope, the team won't be making any reasonable progress with him out and the QB being what he is. -
Tankathon: Where we stand on draft position…..
Panthering replied to WarPanthers89's topic in Carolina Panthers
My early take is that it's going to be extremely hard to break into the top 3. We are bad, but Titans, Jets, Saints are horrid. -

Mostly revolves around that it can be worse from a GM perspective, and he's done a respectable job here. 2024 FA draft is pretty solid, 2024 draft n/a but trending towards bust with those first two picks, 2025 too early. -

The harshest path is: Fire all coaching staff, hope to hire competent HC -- will John Haurbaugh be available? Keep Dan Morgan? I've liked him, been an upgrade on Fitterer even though he's made mistakes Trade back in the draft unless there's a can't miss prospect available, draft as well as you can and do not give up any draft picks Draft a QB in round 2/3 and sign a QB with NFL starting experience Apologize to the fans for trotting out Nick Scott and Rozebum this season, promise it will never happen again Get rid of Bryce Young, doesn't matter how you do it, but just turn the page there for everyone's sake That's really it, the only way out is through! Really comes down to drafting and not getting impatient which might be hard for Tepper. There's talent here, it's just being dragged down by some of the worst football players I've ever seen don a Panthers uniform, and that's mostly Teppers fault because he thought he was smarter than everyone else when he bought the team. -
They play afraid because they know that one mistake will doom the entire game due to the QB/coaching/everything. You can't play like that!
-
Wow Rozebum.... just wow. What a horrible signing & player and same goes to Trevin Wallace. That blew up in Morgan's face, not sure what Evero is supposed to do with those two.

That would be the nail in the coffin for me following this team for the year. If you thought the discourse around Bryce was bad.... my god the Shedeur stuff is 1000x worse. Don't think he's any good anyways and don't like how he handles himself at all.
