  1. If they are going to draft an edge that needs more refinement, then you draft that guy in the 2nd rd and put him ij a platoon. At pick 8, that player needs to be starting this year. My list of players who have automatic upgrade n starting value at possibly 8 are The safety from the Gamecocks, Carter(if traded up to 4) Warren, Johnson and Jihaad. Even Jihad and Johnson would have to get past a few obstacles. I hope this team doesn't stick at 8 and take Williams but like someone said above, we don't take bpa as much in rd 1 no more. I'd take Walker at 8 but that's bc I can see explosion in his play. He'd either be an upgrade Inside or actually learn to be a dawg at edge. I know its not popular with some but I'm high on Warren the most.
  2. Looking at Aiyuks contract, I think it's a good get for our scenario. He is due 11 million and then 14 million. Then his last 2 years are not guaranteed. That gives you 2 years at a low number to see how he works. If the rumor of us swapping picks etc is it... then it really makes sense for us to make it. If he doesn't work out, the money is not crippling and the draft compensation won't hit by swapping picks.
  3. That and you also have rumors of the bears wanting Jeanty. Moving up to the Saints mean nothing. So we may have Chicago and Dallas calling to move up to 8... we got history with both obviously.
  4. Warren fills 3 needs on offense... outside of Carter and the safety from South Carolina, Warren is plug and play. The others could work their way into the lineup but have mini obstacles. He is an alpha and to me, is a Bigger and stronger Brock Bowers. I like Walker but don't need our 1st pick behind the 8 ball bc of depth or injuries. The 1st pick has to start n contribute this year. We missed on Brooks and leggette being ready out the gate, can't do it again.
  5. Warren has rumblings in the building and even AL Wallace mentioned it. Canales lit up when talking about him recently. The safety from South Carolina may be a target too... depending on the thoughts on Demani Richardson and the fact we run 3 safeties often.
  6. Nobody would've ever thought we'd have Bobby Brown and Michael Jackson on the Panthers... at the same time...
  7. Could see it but still think Warren is in consideration too
  8. I swear folk get pissed about upside and want names only. Most of our hits over the years was guys like this. This aint a CJ Henderson move... the tape shows when he had a chance... he delivered. 3 to 4 years is the range where dlimemen take off. I bet half these folk were ready to write Brown off too a couple years ago.
  9. The game film tells the whole story... folk go to pff and say FACTS. As a fan, you'd know the defense was horrible but looking IN the trenches ... NO DERRICK BROWN, LIMITED CLOWNEY, TUTTLE AT NOSE TACKLE... it was catastrophic. This dude was the bright spot gake in n out u saw effort n drive despite the total defense being ass. If someone improves your defense... thats bad??
  10. I agree... time will tell but definitely signed guys with attitude!!!
  11. 3 daughters.... just a true panthers fan... I always target under the radar guys... bc they always make the biggest impact. Wonnum changed the trajectory of our pass rush when he got healthy.
  12. Dude is ascending and using this deal to set up his next deal. Folk gonna look badk at this like when we signed Luvu and Addison. Heart, motor and athleticism is clearly evident.
  13. Man I been on here for years.... lol Old enough to be this dudes dad lol
  14. Go watch stuff on him on youtube..YouTube... he has the motor size and growth... injury cut his season but I think he has upside. The deal represents a chance for him to prove it. This is a Mario Addison signing all over. If he stays healthy, I see a double digit sack guy.
  15. With an injury to cut his season short at that. Him n Wonnum may be the answer... thank u Minnesota lol
  16. VERY UNDERRATED SIGNING... LOVE IT!!!
  17. Give me Chase Young, Poana Ford/Bobby Brown. Ton of other safeties and front 7 guys left
  18. Trevor has the attitude and grit the team needs. I think he'll be a tone setter
  19. Yep... would be some Saints ish to drive the price up. Smh Could drive it up and if signed, allow them or whoever to go after other targets the Panthers may of went after.
  20. So do we put a AShawn at nose and have Brown and Milton at the end spots in a 3-4 or do we go to a 4-3 and have brown n Milton as the tandem. Sure they'll mix it up but wonder what the base formation will be. We could cause havoc regardless.
  21. I saw that but Schefter said it's going to get done. We shall see.
  22. That and us being quoted as going hard for defense in free agency. I'd also add I think Warren makes as much sense as Tet. Warren gives you a receiver, blocker and he even runs out the backfield at 6'6 265.... a weapon I would love if we do address defense heavy in free agency.
  23. https://motorcyclesports.net/carolina-panthers-eye-patrick-jones-ii-after-impressive-season-and-injury-opens-door-for-impactful-pass-rusher-acquisition/ This guy (Patrick Jones) is intriguing. Wouldn't mind them actually completing this as a signing for value with upside. His tape is relentless.
  24. I agree on that 1!! Someone mentioned Godwin on their(Patriots) radar too
