Draft Simulator (Lets see What You Got)

This would be my tough+athletic playmaker draft. It's easy to poach 5 & 20 from SEA for little on PFF: -
Draft Simulator (Lets see What You Got)

Fine, did two fun unrealistic ones with my faves at the DL, TE, & HB spots -
I feel very strongly about this... Derek Carr.
Bear Hands replied to Proudiddy's topic in Carolina Panthers
I'd rather let someone else grab him. High probability he goes to the NFC given the market, but he barely clipped 60% completion with some really bad games down the stretch this last season. And that was with getting Adams in house. He doesn't worry me the level of a Baker Mayfield, but more in line with the Bears when they got Cutler. Do we really want that, but at an even later part of his career? I've always viewed Carr right at that fringe of a franchise QB, but he's just not a top-tier guy. Even compared to Stafford in their primes while both were on bad teams, the eye test for me has always had Carr a step below. Maybe above Kirk Cousins & prime Andy Dalton though. He's actually a great measuring stick in looking for a guy. You kind of want to find someone at his level, absolutely bare minimum. You want to land a guy that's at the least a Derek Carr or else you should keep fishing. So, do we want to be stuck with that? He'll also be 32 in a month so how many prime years are you getting? And would it be worth that contract? You'd really have to bank on him coming in and trusting him to be the dude, ready to win playoff games (0-1 in his career), especially given the expected competition & compensation for 3-4 years. I just don't see him as the guy for us. Could he do well next season? Sure, but I'd rather gamble at higher upside long term than settle for the time being at his known peak. -
Bash on it, but it's cool to see these dudes shooting the sh*t, helmets off. The Pro Bowl dodgeball was an entertaining trainwreck.

Did anyone catch the Pickles return in the Pro Bowl skills comp? LOL

@Mr. Scot Is right about the Cards. Anyone catch the reports that coaching candidates have been declining further interviews bc they don't want to have Kyler as their QB? Haha https://www.si.com/nfl/cardinals/news/report-kyler-murray-deterring-potential-arizona-cardinals-coaching-candidates

He's like really damn good. I got on a weird kick rooting for Tulane this past year. They closed out beating like 4 ranked teams (finishing off Caleb & USC in the Cotton) Was hoping his QB Pratt was going to declare too. They also have a great lineman in this draft. But Spears was such a huge part of that entire team. He's got that obvious starting RB quality to him Pierce showed last year. He's a bit more like a Khalil Herbert/more jacked up Tony Pollard. Just absolutely love his game.

This was a fun one. Given the loudness in the Richardson department on this board, tried something different. Traded up only to trade down, gather picks. Think this would be a 3-starter gain, Foskey, Kelly & Spears all potential starters as well.

I believe Jake Haener would be the last man standing with those lines.

Bryant Rhule, is that you?

Their layout is always great, one of the best designed websites for this type of thing. Not for QBs/or Panther related-- but I am beginning to agree with the S-N & Addison both over Johnston at WR. Seen that popping up on more than a few places recently. In deep diving, seems many aren't the biggest fans of Quentin's catching style and route running.

Interesting week so far in Mobile. Some expectations have been adjusted and it sounds like the lower tiers of QBs are not impressing. My Updated Rankings: 1. Bryce Young (Top-5) 2. CJ Stroud (Top-10) 3. Will Levis (Top-10) --tier drop-- 4. Anthony Richardson (Mid R1-2) 5. Tanner McKee (Late R1-2) --tier drop-- 6. Hendon Hooker (R2-3) 7. Jake Haener (R3-5) 8. Max Duggan (R4-6) 9. Jaren Hall (R4-6) --tier drop-- 10 & Beyond: Tune, O'Connell, Thompson-Rob, Bagent (7th-UDFA)

Daiyan Henley LB out of Wash State has been really impressing from what I've read. Seen glowing reviews for him, Dell WR, Jake Haener QB, Spears RB, & Kyu Blue Kelly CB on more than just a few articles. Spears is probably my favorite RB target at this point and who I'd love for us to grab mid rounds. Sounds like Duggan & Haener are the only QBs worth a damn which is kind of a bummer. McKee isn't there, Hooker isn't playing of course due to injury.

Panthers Social Team is having too much fun

LOL I love how deadpan Scott is there. You just know there's a subtle degree of "get this mother f*cker out of here Dave" deep in Scott's soul during that high five -
Scott Fitterer.... let's grade his drafts and FA signings
Bear Hands replied to TheBigKat's topic in Carolina Panthers
As mentioned, I would also question the balance of power, particularly the 2021 season. A pendulum seemed to swing to Fitt at some point but I think that was after the 2021 season and leading into 2022. Who really knows though. Last year though, looking promising. Not hyperbolizing when I say it was one of our best FA hauls ever. I also wouldn't have the big WHO? by Barno. That kid earned playing time and made a few plays when brought in. 2 sacks, 2 qb hits, 2 tfl on only 30ish total snaps on the year. He looked pretty promising. Not to mention was one of the preseason guys who shined. -
Reich’s description of a QB: It’s basically Corral

Just noting his size. Most prototypical of all the prospects. -

Not saying he’s my top by any means, but Tanner McKee fits the mold physically. -
He was loved in Detroit. That's an awesome get; Williams was a revelation this season.

Tyjae Spears & Chase Brown are 2 RBs I have my eye on. LOVE Spears

NFC Quarterbacks: An Average Wasteland
Bear Hands replied to Bear Hands's topic in Carolina Panthers
I've just always seen a semblance there haha. Especially with the tough-shorty bravado thing going on. "Put em up!, Lemme at em'!" -
I don't think Corral is really waiting in the wings. He seems as much as an after thought for our staff as people online. I'm not classifying him a bust by any means, I imagine Reich will be giving him a look this summer, but he was the 94th pick for a reason. They've made clear they're still looking. It's not settle on Corral season. He's just not some high end pick we have to account for, he was within 30 picks of Eason pick # wise (not year), who was Reich's own pick and pretty similar in age 24/25. And they'll know what they're working with well before the preseason rolls around; they know what to spot. Reich made Foles, Wentz, Brissett all look their best and worked with some of the better QBs in the 2000s in Manning, Rivers, & Luck. He knows what he's doing with the modern passing game. They're going to be searching for a guy that works for them, and we'll find out come FA & Draft. I just caution anyone going into this offseason thinking Corral is this QB we can simply just take a chance with and throw to the wolves. If our last staff was even tepid about bringing him into the preseason games in an open comp, then I just highly caution he's more on the QB3/PS territory than QB2/Emergency Starter side of things.
-
With how bad the Bears backup situation was when Fields missed time, I'd be serious about packaging Corral in the deal to help offset a future pick. We could just as easily pick another mid/late rounder developmental guy in 2024/25. No use in having one in 2023 if we're going top rookie & a vet backup combo for the active-53.

I think it's fair to say it is open season in the NFC. Post-Brady & Rodgers, and the likelihood INDY and HOU are grabbing the top prospects, what are we really working against? I'd say Hurts is the only one that would give a DC heartburn to game plan against. It looks like a window is presenting itself with high end R1 talent all stacking up in the AFC--Mahomes, Allen, Burrow, Lawrence, Herbert, Tua, Lamar, Watson, etc. NFC South NO: Dalton? Winston? (They were BAD w/o SP) ATL: Mariota/Ridder TB: Probably looking at a Jimmy G type NFC North MIN: Kirk Cousins CHI: Justin Fields GB: Jordan Love DET: Jared Goff NFC West AZ: Scrappy-Doo LAR: Aged-Arm Stafford SEA: Geno Smith SF: Purdy/Lance NFC East PHI: Jalen Hurts DAL: Dak Prescott NYG: Daniel Jones WAS: Sam Howell That is all. Thanks for visiting.

If Rodgers follows him (or goes to NYJ), how would everyone rank the NFC QBs? Hurts Stafford Dak Kyler Cousins D Jones Geno?? It's pretty crazy how much of a QB wasteland it could be and quick. Best be the team to find one sooner than later.
