Thing is, the guys people look to compare (Brees, Kyler and Wilson) have more traditional drops in shotgun. I can't find a comparison of someone who does this parallel step "jog" back like they're some DB. It's so unconventional but he's been doing it in college, and continues in the pros. It worked at Bama, but it doesn't work at this level unless conditions are ideal.

Evero. Mainly because it could be a legitimate audition. No one else offers that. T Brown is too young, will need a bit more growth before sniffing near a HC role. Tabor has done it before though, so could do it again. But Evero offers us a chance to see a guy we interviewed for HC, well, as a HC.

It is a very fair look. Warner is pretty spot on with the pocket tendencies and what can be improved on. From the lack of depth in his drop, to the toe bouncing, feet being parallel to the LOS, overall footwork, timing. 16:58 play is a very clear example of what many of us some may think are being overly hard on Bryce are seeing. Improvement needed. 22:30 -- the good. So he can set his feet properly, his gun tendencies are correctable. From Warner himself: "One of the things giving him the most problems is his technique"

Honestly, the casual fan life is the way to go the older I get. Early morning 3+ mi walk with the dog and wife, drop into one of our bakeries for pastries and tea. Meal prep for the week. I run to get fixings for the games and the other ingredients we’ll need to for upcoming dinners. Come noon, I’ve got the quad box with 4 games. Redzone on the main screen with the audio. Helping with Sunday chores around halftime of both stretches. Have ~2 teams I’m pulling for. Panthers are in one of those quad boxes, and every week I’m peering towards it less and less.

It’s really seems to be how he comfortably plays in the gun. It’s just how he sets his feet. Someone pointed it out during the draft season in a thread and Kurt Warner has even talked about it. He does the slow backup with his feet parallel to the LOS, then this weird hop step to eventually position himself into his dropback. It is sloppy and wastes time for throwing at the top of routes effectively. He relied on out of structure at Bama a lot so seemed to get used to doing this— because he eventually rolled out to get clear sight lines.

Gibbs has been pretty awesome for Detroit. People laughed at Detroit thinking they reached with their picks, but their draft is looking better and better each week. Branch and LaPorta had virtually no acclimation period. Transitioned perfectly and look like multi-year vets.

My pound the table guys have been looking great, won't lie. Biggest draft crushes were basically Zay, JuJu Brents, Tuli, Sam LaPorta, & Tyjae Spears. WR wise, loved a handful--Flowers, Dell, Downs, Ty Scott, and Iosivas. Wasn't a big QJ fan.

If he wraps at 5.3 YPA, I believe that's 1st or 2nd lowest all-time in the modern NFL. Indictment on Reich as much as Bryce. Such a big yikes.

Given the draft the past 2 years (and Fitt or Rhule regardless, we've had the same scouts helping shape our eval), I'm nervous every week because Scott Fitterer, Cole Spencer and Jared Kirskey are spending time working on the college front. But realistically, I do think there's a chance Frank is fired. There's nothing more to see from him. It's done.

We have a tendency to be a bit oversensitive to this fake syndrome because of what Ron did to Cam. Is the o-line bad? Sure, and they eventually caved into oblivion by the 4th quarter, but there's been time and plenty of clean pockets happening. Also, some of the rushed instances, there's maneuverability in the pocket that's not being taken advantage of. Bryce is somehow operating Brock Osweiler at times.

The Texas one in particular was where I saw a lot of what we're going through. But even in some of their blowouts, they stalled out a lot in the first half. There would be stretch of incompletions, good running plays, and then the rollout, nice find to someone like Burton on the run for a big chunk. Big chunks, dinks, incompletes.

I'll try mine out, from what I've seen: Accuracy - B- (Have not seen solid stuff here. Maybe 2-3 B+ throws a game, an occasional A) Arm Strength - C- (Has not shown to be effective enough. Honestly, Pennington tier) Mechanics - C (Footwork is just not good and it makes for timing issues) Elusiveness - D (When rolling, has been caught up to by DTs) Release - B+ (It can be pretty nice/quick, even if his feet aren't set, I'll give him that) Size - [erhhh] Mobility/Running Ability - D Physical Toughness - B That is a lot of concerning traits to be supposedly be made up for with "composure" and being a good, high character kid.

How would you rank (or) grade Bryce's attributes as a QB? Ones to consider (add if I'm missing any): Accuracy Arm Strength Mechanics Elusiveness Release Size Mobility/Running Ability Physical Toughness And what is his top ability? This sets aside intangibles such as leadership, character, in-game IQ, clutch gene, etc. (Which we keep being told he has by every announcer, player, and coach) I'm asking because I'm starting to get a weird vibe with it all. And looking at some old 2021-2022 Bama drives (instead of highlights), I'm seeing a lot of similar things to what we're experiencing. The biggest difference was, when they got to 3rd and longs, plays got extended, and big plays were eventually made. But 1st and 2nd downs, consistently, weren't the prettiest and Bama was kind of a boring team to watch. But I won't act like I saw this in the offseason, enough people have been propping him up that I bought it, but, it's getting really concerning. Zach Wilson-level concerning for me. So it makes me wonder, QB trait wise, what is it, what exactly are the traits that he brings?
