This actually doesn't make a whole lot of sense. They hired Rhule to build a program from the ground up. He is a team builder. Mortgaging the future on one guy just doesn't seem to fit that narrative at all. I get DeShaun is close to a top 5 QB if not already but look at the year he just had. Pretty damn good year and it still wasn't enough for Houston to make the playoffs. The Panthers just went 5-11. They aren't anywhere close to being "one player away" from being a SB contender. Adding DeShaun while neutering Rhule and his "program rebuild skills" by trading away 4-5 1st rounders + more doesn't seem like the best recipe for success.

Pats had such an amazing set of WRs/TEs last season that they are replacing almost all of them this offseason! I mean how stupid are the people that post on this board? Holy poo -

I mean Belichick is arguably the greatest HC of all time so yes? Why are you asking such a stupid question? Are you really siding with posters like mrcompletely11? Actually respected you as a poster on this forum. That's a big yikes from me man -

How does his contract this year compare to last year? Looks like the same deal to me (Cam started 15 games last year in case you forgot) except more money than last year. Bill is essentially giving him a mulligan for last year because he understands his starting Qb didn't have an offseason and hardly any help at the skill positions last year. He's giving Cam a legitimate opportunity this time around what is so hard to understand about that? You really think Cam signed to NE to be the backup QB? L-O-L. -

What exactly are you asking...? I mean I dont give a sh*t whether you guys think Cam can still be a good Qb or not. Who are you randos compared to Bill Belichick? In the end it will be you losers looking foolish when Cam takes that team to the playoffs this year I don't care whether you agree with it or not. Couldn't care less actually lol -

Cam and Teddy had the same amount of Touchdowns on the season (20) while Teddy had the far superior talent surrounding him on the offensive side of the ball AND Cam STILL won more games. Jackass. -
About time! He will not be missed in the slightest. Congratulations on a tremendous career, however.

I feel like on a Carolina Panthers message board users should be able to DISCUSS current and FORMER Panthers whenever they'd like especially in the boring ass offseason. The only people who find it "weird or creepy" probably have some weird ass fetishes themselves they keep buried deep down so they project it onto other people. Dunno, but that's just my opinion. Cam just resigned with the Pat's and you expect people not to talk about it? What? Its the offseason bud hate to break it to ya but this is the biggest news we've had to talk about other than make believe trade proposals that we've talked about all fuging offseason Whats even weirder are the Proud Boy Panthers fans who hate Cam but obviously can't stop involving themselves from posting about him when there is a thread on the first page. Isnt that weird? Purposely logging in to a forum seeing a thread you supposedly "have no interest in" just to go in there and start running your mouth to people who are trying to have an honest discussion about Cam's future. Thats what's really weird. What's even weirder than that is that the OP took time out of his day to CREATE a thread talking sh*t about said player MOMENTS after news broke about him signing his contract.. You guys must live some really sad and miserable lives to use the logic that you do. -

With a full offseason/preseason with his team this year I guess we will see who's right in the end! He will have no excuses this year with a full training camp and what I imagine a new arsenal of receivers. All I wanted is for him to get a legitimate shot. Last year wasn't exactly that -

13 minutes full of good throws from start to finish. No one will argue Cam struggled at times last year. Especially in the two games post covid which is where the bulk of your "low lights" come from. The Denver and SF games. Again, is his arm AS STRONG as it was in 2015? No. Does it need to be that strong for Cam to be successful? No. Can Cam still win games for the NE Pats with his arm? Yes. -

I've been reading all of these wonderful opinions and beliefs from these arm chair GMs only to watch them cower back to the shadows after having nothing but stats, evidence and logic hit them in the face. Good times. -

That was a completely different era of football back then. Tom Brady averaged 3500 yards and 25 TDs with a 62% completion in those seasons. Not exactly far off from what Cam just did in 2020 with worse, yes worse weapons than a 2003-2006 era football team which wasn't quite yet the pass happy league it is now. And of course let's not forget the legendary defense the Pats had those years as well. -

That is also an excellent point. And I agree Cam was not good at times but the situation he was in was far from ideal. I was hoping Bill would be smart enough to give Cam another opportunity with a full offseason with his teammates/coaches/playbook. Pats also have $50+ million and a slew of draft picks including #15 overall to beef up their skill positions and front 7. There won't be any excuses left if he misses the playoffs or has a lousy year but I don't see how anyone who understands football can use last year to determine if Cam is still a good player or not with the circumstances he was in. -

And again those stats and information you're throwing out still doesn't prove Cam's arm is done. You know there are other factors at play (PERSONNEL) being one of the main catalysts in your theory. The other is Cam's time with the playbook. Julian Edleman was Tom Brady's #1 WR that year. Had a 1,000 yard season. Where was Julian Edleman for 75% of Cam's season last year? On the sideline (except for that one game where you know, Julian had his best game of his entire career with Cam at QB). Tom Brady also left town and jump shipped to go play in a stacked offense. Funny how you left that bit of information out. He didn't want to throw to the likes of N'keal Harry and Damiere Byrd and I don't blame him
