  1. To be fair we only threw the ball 20 times, we have cycled through the most players AND player combinations on the Oline out of any other team this season. This was also one of the better pass rushing units in the NFL and in a hostile environment. Can't expect him to have gaudy numbers especially when the run game is working as well as it was with Rico. They really couldn't stop it
  2. Well let's be honest here. The Jets was probably the absolute worst place for Fields to go and try and resurrect his career. Sure they have solid offensive players but that place is known for being QB Purgatory. Same with us and the Raiders.
  3. Nah. This team would have found a way to lose this game 10/10 times the last few seasons. They closed out a game on a day in which they didn't play their best (offense). They gave up some plays on defense but made plays when it mattered most. They got 6 sacks against one of the worst pass pro units in the NFL and did what they were supposed to. That is improvement from where we were and that is something to be modestly happy about
  4. The Panthers keeping Dalton around to continue to be the #2 is likely why they don't have to worry much about that ever really happening.
  5. So games that Qbs made mistakes in, but still play well enough to win, doesnt deserve credit for game winning drives because of the mistakes that were made earlier in the game? That makes absolutely no sense
  6. We have the most expensive O Line due in large part to T-Mo. If we had a rookie RT or Christensen and didn't have a $30 or $40 mill cap hit at that spot it wouldn't be so bad. We will essentially be shifting T-Mos cap hit to Ickey with hopefully a rookie taking over that RT spot.
  7. Thielen wouldn't have been higher than WR 3 on any other team but the Panthers though. Look what he's done with the Vikings so far. Every starting WR that was traded/released/ not resigned hasnt done anything for another team but they were Bryce's #1/#2 WRs during their time here. Johnson, Mingo, Chark, Thielen, Marshall Jr. Most of those guys were the WR1 during his first two years! That is a crazy terrible list. Throw in the fact that XL has looked more like a typical Panthers 2nd round dud than a true 1st round pick like DJ Moore or even Tmac and you can easily see that the Panthers have not done a good enough job with surrounding Bryce with NFL talent at the skill positions That's not to say Bryce doesn't deserve his fair share of criticism. He absolutely does. He has a lot of terrible turnovers and makes some pretty bad throws/reads. I think he's limited in the short range, screen passes etc. And doesn't have good enough deep throw accuracy to keep defenses honest. We'll see what happens but if Bryce fails the Panthers front office definitely had a part to play
  8. Definitely get the sentiments of the OP. Young's weapons can't just be 2 solid OGs, one being on IR. The weapons added through the draft and FA have been absolute dogsh*t excluding Tmac of course. Bryce isn't without his faults though. The amount of stupid fuging turnovers that go for TDs have to stop. I've never seen the QB fumble like he does as often as he does. That has nothing to do with the players around him. I'm still willing to give Bryce this season especially with Coker coming back but I don't have high hopes. He has to continue to flash playmaking ability and stop being the reason this team remains one of the worst 1st half teams in NFL History.
  9. Baltimores playbook (obv) has all of the designed Cam runs from the Gun Heavy formation
  10. I'm so sick of looking forward to football season every year only for our season to be done before September ends every year. This is so depressing. Year after year same old sh*t.
  11. Unfortunately Bryce will never have that "dog" mentality that Morgan was trying to preach. One of the things I loved most about Cam. Him tearing down that Packers banner will be one of my fondest memories. We dont have a single player on our roster that gives a fug that much.
  12. Interesting. So what this is saying is if everything goes the way it's supposed too every play we have a potential MVP QB on our hands? Very interesting.
  13. And there it is...that damn black cat thing again
  14. The problem with this thought process that assumes the WRs taken in the 1st round are actually 1st round talents. People like you have made such a big deal about Bryce being bad in his first 2 seasons and gave the excuse he had "enough" talent around him to be a good player. Here is the talent that was around him From NAS's thread First two years DJ Chark: free agent Hayden Hurst: free agent Diontae Johnson: free agent Terrace Marshall, Jr.: free agent Jonathan Mingo: traded Miles Sanders: released Laviska Shenault: free agent Why do you expect our young QB to have thrived with the likes of the above list if 31 other NFL teams choose to not surround their QBs with these players? Tmac is probably going to be a good WR. Is it a surefire thing? No it isn't. Same with XL. How many drops did this 1st round pick you are propping up on a pedestal have his rookie year? You want Bryce to throw it to him AND catch it for him? Sounds like unrealistic expectations if you ask me. All that aside it is put up or shut up time for this offense though. But just because we invested heavily in 1st round WRs doesn't mean they will automatically be good. With or without Bryce.
  15. I loved Thielen here but this move makes sense. Tmac XL Coker Horn Jr. And Moore barring injury these guys need to see the field. Except maybe Moore but he's made some solid plays and has a good rapport with Young Coker to me could possibly be our best WR this year if Tmac struggles with separation. Sucks to lose Thielen but at the end of the day we need our young guys to cook
  16. I thought Brown and Jackson were going to be the NTs. Pretty sure Wharton is more of a pass rusher maybe I'm wrong though
  17. Yea this came out awhile ago watch the interview he definitely clarifies what he means. He def ain't broke he's got a lot of business ventures
  18. TE is usually pretty tough at first. Give Sanders a chance to grow I'm sure there will be plenty of growing pains along the way TE isn't the easiest position to play
  19. As much as we need an impact player from a pass rush perspective this one shouldn't be it as much as I'd love to have him for the next 2-3 years. 31 years old, wants a huge contract, and will cost us a lot to trade for him. No thanks
  20. Buddy you're preaching to the choir. Igo banned me from posting in this forum during Rhules first year as HC. I was so pissed with the way they did Cam and how his career ultimately ended with the decisions that were made while we wallow away in mediocrity (honestly I would have taken mediocrity, it's definitely been more of a shitshow) Everyone on this board knows who you are and your views of the current situation. You've made them known repeatedly. You just gotta back off a little bit and let the cards fall where they may. Hopefully you and a lot of us will walk away from this season with hope for the future. I think our offense will be solid at some point. Might take a few games to get everything gelling (Could argue more preseason reps would have been a good thing) it CANNOT take them 1.5 months into the season to have a game resembling an NFL offense though. I'm truly worried about our defense I'm afraid we didn't really upgrade much at all. Just swapped a bunch of rookies and JAGs for more rookies and JAGs but I hope I'm wrong as should you!
  21. Again you go to comparing QBs which I said more than once wasn't what I was doing with that analogy. I'll type it out again but I don't really know how much clearer I can type it it's already in black and white, but here it goes. Preseason Success/Failure is not an indicator of Regular season success. There are many examples I could have used. Considering we are on a Panthers forum and I'm supposedly talking to a Panthers fan why wouldn't I bring up Cam's preseason and the VERY suspect passing offense we saw in those games vs What we saw to start the regular season in 2011. It was a night and day difference. Last year we saw this offense put together scoring drives in the preseason albeit VERY limited action, much like this year. We were terrible to start the year on offense last year so seeing those drives didn't make much of a difference did it? You said you weren't happy with the Bills drive I asked you to explain what was wrong with it? Moved the ball down the field with accurate and decisive throws, maybe a little happy feet at times but overall it was a drive you wanted to see from this young team absolutely. After all that I know I'm talking to a brick wall but I needed to kill some time on a Monday. Try and not to be so miserable today Frank. There's more to life than preseason football.
  22. In 2015 Cam Newton was yes. Cam Newton in 2011 was not and I'm not going to compare Cam's career and what he accomplished to the current situation we find ourselves in as a Franchise. I'm just pointing out a relevant situation in our team's history that proves you can't use a preseason game in which the QB threw 2 passes to dictate whether we are going to be a functional offense or not I mean it just doesn't make any sense. And the counter to that fact, you cant use a singular good drive by the offense to also dictate whether they are going to be a functional unit or not.
