  1. Like I said in other thread. I bet Panthers have all options open. They are not 100% vested in Bryce or CJ. I legit hoping for Draft Day movie like outcome lol
  2. Over the last few weeks more and more folks got vested in NFL draft. They watch highlights, they put themselves in NFL scouting shoes, they read twits that support their view and they pick their favorite players. The question is why? Well… folks are getting their dopamine fix and they are looking for more. ______ Reward prediction errors in dopamine neurons: The response to the reward itself disappears when the reward is predicted. But if more than the predicted reward occurs, the dopamine neurons show stronger responses. By contrast, their activity decreases if no, or less than predicted, reward occurs. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4826767/#:~:text=Reward prediction errors in dopamine neurons&text=The response to the reward, less than predicted%2C reward occurs. Scientists are now naming dopamine as “the anticipation molecule” because it's shown that dopamine is also released in large amounts when we anticipate a pleasurable experience. So recently with all the Bryce Young news that he’s a sure fire #1 pick. Bryce Young supporters are tripping on dopamine while CJ Stroud fans are on opposite swing. The NFL, ESPN and everyone else had major studies done on NFL draft and dopamine over decade ago. The whole idea is to create uncertainty and debate which generates a ton of revenue during off-season because folks are tripping on dopamine. This is all by design and NFL and everyone else will milk it until the draft day. ______ Recommendation to all folks. Be excited but control your excitement. “It is having flexibility in our expectations and being willing to change track without self-blame that has been shown to increase well-being.” So as we can see, there is no template for managing expectations. It seems as if it is best to have low expectations of things out of our control, realistic expectations of things we can control to some degree and high expectations of ourselves. And, perhaps the greatest truth of all is: always expect the unexpected. https://www.nytimes.com/2012/01/14/your-money/the-importance-of-setting-expectations-whether-high-or-low.html
  3. I’m about to start an article. You might like it.
  4. I’m almost certain the Panthers keep their options open and don’t jump to conclusions with 2 more weeks to go unlike some people on this board.
  5. But what if Young is not our target and we can still get our guy while picking up extra early 2nd rounder?
  6. Young is most definitely not a generational talent but he’s the only QB Texans are interested in. Texans will run dink and dunk system which Young fits perfectly.
  7. I won’t be surprised if we hoping to trade #1 pick to Houston and maybe pick up extra 2nd round pick.
  8. Oh come on. I’m enjoying the drama. We got 2 weeks of this and then it will be a boredom.
  9. Will I wholeheartedly support Young if we draft him? Absolutely. Do I think he will be a bust in the NFL? Absolutely. Unless he proves it to me otherwise. The fact no player in NFL history succeeded with his intangibles is concerning and merits doubt.
  10. Hey! I was watching! It was a great game.
  11. Bryce can throw ~55 yards if he puts his might into it but he’s mostly 5-15 yard general and he let his playmakers do the rest. Similar to SF offense.
  12. NFL models predicted similar including him taking very deep drop backs and having a slow release. Basically said he will struggle in NFL unless he has an amazing OL.
  13. My God if Panthers draft anyone else but Bryce. I will cancel the rest of my day and enjoy huddle meltdown.
  14. NFL models projected Young to go bust. The reason: Young takes very deep drop back to see over the line but he does not have a quick release and need to step into his throws to generate power/zip. With blitzes and against heavy pass rush, he projected to struggle big time. With NFL being much faster and physical than college, he projected to be hit early and often. NFL has removed model results from their website about a week ago. The analysis said for Young to be successful in NFL, requires team to have top Offensive Tackles tandem from preventing EDGE and LBs to go around them. Young had one of the best OL in college football the last 2 years.
  15. Someone will need to post suicide hotline here if we pick Stroud.
  16. I believe in models, I don’t believe in hope. But again, that’s why so many people play lottery.
  17. The was article on NFL.com where they plugged Young’s intangibles into a model… not hight or weight but his playing intangibles and there was zero QB who made it in NFL with his playing style. The model predicted he needs an amazing supporting cast to succeed in NFL. I posted that article weeks ago and got there responses from Young supporters.
  18. Young will fail in NFL. Even NFL models predicted that. People who think Young will make it in NFL will come to realization pretty quickly.
