Perfect Way to Sum up how poo the Panthers Are.
WhoKnows replied to Hoenheim's topic in Carolina Panthers
So true. Probably why I get snarky at the amazing draft we will be 9-8 or 10-7 guys. 7 coaches in 7 years is bad, but I think this is worse: We have the current longest streak of 10 loss seasons. We are at 6 years and look well on our way to 7 straight years of 10 losses and TBH, nothing on this team that looks like we’ll change that in the near future. We are the Browns, Jets or pretty much any team with a decade of futility and utter fan despair. Today was the could we actually be for real game and it got answered big time. -
Official Week 4: Panthers at Patriots Gameday Thread
WhoKnows replied to Captain Morgan's topic in Carolina Panthers
WTF do I keep seeing this posted? Thielen would not have impacted any games we played. We’d have the same record. We are better off with the 4th, which hopefully will be used by competent scouting/GM. I will say that it does seem like you watched the game and lost a bet with a NE fan to have a beer for every point NE scored so don’t worry about it! -
In this tush push era, it really is amazing to think that we literally can’t run a QB sneak. That’s absurd. Hail Mary as well. WTF did we think the outcome would be different when there are core things like sneaks and deep passes that we couldn’t do?

Don't do this to yourselves again folks

Maybe we are just being realistic and realize that win against Atlanta had as much to do with their play as it did our play. None of us want to be bad, that’s just stupid. IMHO, we have just gotten tired of the “another great draft” we’ll challenge for the division and playoffs and the coaches and GM know what they are doing. I’m negative when I feel like we are watching the same old poo since the collapse in 2018 to now. Bad teams can win division games occasionally because of the familiarity but damn we can get blasted by teams like Jax and NE, who aren’t world beaters. The first 7 games were our easy part of the schedule and we are going to be 1-3. It certainly looks like we will have another 10 loss season to extend our league leading streak. -
And every single one of those guys will not be above average starters. Their picks filled depth holes but they don’t make us better than other teams. I assume you are watching today’s game and it’s pretty obvious we aren’t a good team. None of the guys you mentioned are impact guys. Since 2020, we have maybe 3 impact guys in Brown, Horn and TMac (early but he’s flashed). The rest of our draft picks are “can start on the Panthers but easily replaced or not good enough to be on decent rosters/in the NFL at all.

Dude’s getting every call today. LSU would have been stopped 3 different times on that last drive and Ole Miss got 3 penalties to takeaway big stops. I don’t know if it’s a hate of Kiffen or business decision that an undefeated LSU is better than Ole Miss in the playoffs, but it’s honestly ridiculous. Calling bad PIs against Ole Miss and not calling obvious ones against LSU. It’s clear that it’s happening more often but refs are controlling outcomes way too much now.

Xavier Legette has checked out. I see no fight in this manman

Some more with current injuries, but solid WR1/2 combos IF healthy: Jefferson/Addison Lamb/Pickens Aiyuk/Pearsal Also, Egbuka seems to be taking over for Godwin. Quentin Johnson is leading LAC’s in receiving right now. If Franklin develops, he’s likely a better WR2 than XL. If Allen didn’t love TEs and run a lot, Coleman and Shakir could be solid. Just not enough WR balls. Shakir did have 800+ last year in 15 games but Coleman’s eating into that. -
The number of starters doesn’t matter. We’ve had a bunch of rookie starters every year for a while now because we have awful talent and depth. What we need is to get more above average starters not Wallace, Sanders, Young, and XL. All started 8 or more of their rookie year games. Mingo started 14 games his rookie year. TMJ started 9 games. We are going to continue to be crap until we draft multiple “good” starters, not just bodies who start as rookies because we aren’t a talented team yet. Trouble is that we seem to only get above average starters from top 10 picks.
-
And just like that, GB gives up 13 unanswered points and loses to the Browns. Any given Sunday…
-
Was Legette so much worse than we thought? It’s almost like we were going 10 on 11 with him and the whole mood is better without someone killing drives with mistakes.
-
Anyone watching the game would understand the prevent D he faced after being the main reason we were so far behind. They think Young actually led us back not seeing the onside recovery or seeing Murray act like Young. It took a miracle to get us all the way back and then once the D started pressuring he folded like a cheap suit even with the refs calling penalties for us.
-
Yep. We are the fantasy owners that grab the last player left at the end of each run. We draft guys coming off bad injuries, athletic guys who’ve never shown they are good at football, one year wonders, projects, older prospects and worst of all guys who fall in more than one of those buckets. Even worse than that is we trade up for guys like that.
-
The good drafters don’t do that. That’s why we wonder how so many solid prospects drop to the Eagles or Ravens. It’s not that they can get away with reaches, it’s that they don’t do that. We do that and we can’t. That’s how you get an 8 year slump like the Jets and Browns and that’s how they seem to stay playoff contenders year after year.
-
SMH. We need to draft a good QB. Not the smallest weakest experiment but a legitimate talent. What would Tua and Mac bring us other than another 2-4 years of mediocrity? We likely need to clean house because our talent eval is worst in the league, but I still think we need another Cam (good QB, not clone).
-
It’s our fault for continually drafting these guys. He’s an old 2nd year guy and he had one season in college. If he’s not already set on the mental game, don’t move up to draft him in the first over Coleman and McConkey and De Jean and Frazier, all of whom we needed and are vastly superior players already. Again, to the dolts in here that backed the FO guys religiously, there’s a bunch of huddlers, including me, that would have been better GMs and the team would be a lot more talented if the huddle drafted the team. It’s honestly ridiculous how bad we’ve been in the draft for since 2021. Truly comical. Us fans have to just laugh at how bad it’s been. Even Hurney and Gettleman got something in their drafts so we were competitive and had chances at the playoffs and SBs. It hurts to think about how many years it will be before we sniff another SB or even feel like a SB is possible. Right now it’s just delusional to think that.

Poor guy went from practice squad paychecks to active roster paychecks. Based on his 1 accrued year, he went from $234k to $960k. Poor guy absolutely loves being here in Charlotte.
-
If we were a top offense, I’d agree but we aren’t so our chance of getting 3 2 pointers is basically 0. There were two calls. Go for 2, which I understand but don’t agree based on our futility, and the actual play call, which was awful both times. Play action fake with a leak out and/or rollout to increase the number of opportunities like a QB run in or multiple targets. We, unfortunately, limited ourselves to one chance and after the first run was stuffed you’d think we wouldn’t do the same thing twice but we did and got the same result.

Bryce gets rattled easily, but the Cardinals were getting a ton of pressure. The OL was bad that drive.

Smitty goes off on CLT on WFNZ
WhoKnows replied to Move the Panthers to Raleigh's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yeah, Smitty is talking as an announcer. Would Smitty have said that if he was playing on the same team as XL and watched XL kill a drive because he couldn’t drag his toe on the third step? I don’t think so. -
There’s a weird thing that goes on in here over some of our backups. BC, Mays and Zavala are OK backups but they are starter level players. BC got nothing in FA and cam back to us. Our team talent level is at the bottom of the league. We certainly don’t have 8 NFL starter level OL on our team. Having to play Mays and Zavala/BC is not a good thing for us.
-
The OL looked OK when the Cardinals were in prevent. Last drive, they man handled our OL. Zavala is not an NFL starter.
-
Hate to tell you this, but we are the Browns. Since the hot start to 2018, we are now 30-71. We’ve averaged 5-12 for soon to be 7.5 years. No playoffs for soon to be 8 years. Right now we are tied with Atlanta for the second worst playoff drought (Jets first). We are firmly tied for 2nd place since the 4th place teams are 3 fewer years.
-
You’re right. I was thinking of the GB game with the silly reach for the goal line when he wasn’t close that turned into a goal line fumble. I do remember all the discussions in here about end of the game interceptions and bad passes, etc. but that wasn’t against the Chiefs. That said, still the best season by a QB since Cam. Best 4 game run was Darnold to start 2021, but best full season was Teddy. That makes me really sad.
-
That’s why I didn’t want him. The fact that it came out that he agreed with Fitterer to not trade Burns to the Rams told me everything. I still cringe every time I saw the dawg poo in here during this offseason like we were back. This team seems to be the opposite of that.
-
When people keep bringing that up, remind them that Rhule’s first season included Teddy blowing chances to beat GB and KC who were the 2 playoff #1 seeds that year and Rhule started off his second season 3-1 with a close loss to Dallas and Darnold had 10 total TDs in those 4 games. Even with that, Rhule was universally disliked and booted in year 3 so the Philly/KC games mean nothing. We’ve gotten worse since Rhule and it honestly feels a lot further away from the playoffs.
