Everyone should have seen the disaster around Bryce coming
Ricky Prickles replied to t96's topic in Carolina Panthers
You are exactly correct. I found myself today wondering not if he was going to make a throw but how badly he was going to miss or who's hands on the other team he may throw it in. Found myself every attempt wondering how inaccurate he could possibly get and the only thing consistent I had were thoughts of it being a guaranteed failure each time he moved his arm forward to pass. Pretty damn sad -
XL is not going to Bust. SOMETHING POSITIVE

Wasn't much positive we could take from that but I was glad to see XL at least show up and do something to begin to prove some doubters wrong. As far as Mingo goes, wow needless to say I was pretty disappointed in his performance today. These are definitely some weird times to be a Panthers fan. -

Our minds are and were thinking exactly alike. I was willing to have hope and hope some improvement with blocking and some different WR's and an entire off-season spent working would help Bryce become an NFL QB but my hope has been fully destroyed and my faith in Bryce is now gone. -

I seen lots of guys running open but I unfortunately did not see a QB who is capable of getting them the ball ona. Consistent basis as an NFL QB must do -

Yeah I fear we haven't seen the worst and it's yet to come. If someone has proven all last season and now beginning of this season that they cannot beat anyone with their arm and looks scared with pressure I guess they will be bringing it non stop to him until he proves he can beat them with his arm (don't think that's possible). The immediate future does not look bright for sure -

I'd call some of it negative for sure but haters no. Criticism is good when needed but the doom and gloom of every single thing being awful no matter what without any wait and see what happens or hope at all was pretty negative from some. -

I don't think it's possible to come up with any more unless he just walks out and lights the world on fire for 500 yards and 5 TD's next week but we know that's not happening and we will probably see something similar to what we saw today. -

If my post means the kiss of death then I guess magic is real and the Easter bunny shits out Cadbury eggs also. -

Agreed and huge problem. I also don't know how any of our receivers can shine or have a chance to even if we have guys that can get open this season with the level of QB play I saw today. -

Hell it's at least something to build on even though it doesn't seem like there is much else after today. -
I guess there is something about him that makes me want to see him succeed as a coach and that would be an absolute nightmare to within three years be searching for a new coach. That would mean we are unwatchable and shitty the next few seasons well and I have to be honest that last season and the start of this one is depressing as hell to sit through. There is nothing worse than watching the offense go through a QB that appears to by all means be a nice guy but just isn't an NFL football player or doesn't appear to even be aggressive or confident enough to be a team leader or captain. It's all sad and Canales has to work out to even have any sort of short term hope the next few years.

Yeah I realize I'm over excited and it's probably just because of how badly everything else was and me finally coming to terms today that I don't think even with a little O-line help that Bryce is an NFL QB so I'm grasping for straws here -

I sure hope so on both. We need to hit on something after the past few years and how things have gone. -

That's a very good point and thinking about it that way I have to agree with you we -
The rookie had his first game and didn't hit the stars but QB is probably going to be an issue all year and he looked decent today with the opportunities he had. I knew that going in because I'm of course obviously biased regarding him but he made me proud. It was a first step in proving some of his doubters wrong. He has a long way to go and much to learn but he has the mindset and will be someone the team can count on in the future. Yeah I'm reaching here for anything positive but something had to be said. He has much ceiling to grow and will

You got no arguments from me there. I knew after watching lats season that he didn't have the tools but I sure kept my false weak hope that he would figure something out but he cannot overcome his not having any arm talent, no height, seemingly what appears to be no attitude or competitive fire, no sense of awareness and no aggression out there. Guess I want Cam's fire and nasty tough guy make em pay attitude but QB's like him don't fall out the sky every day. The only thing I like about Bryce is he seems like a mild mannered friendly guy but that sure as hell don't win games or even complete passes -

Hell, the supposed raw ability of AR is looking attractive to me these days -
It is his first damn game coaching and he inherited Bryce who is obviously broken, flawed and not an NFL QB. He is going to have to have time. Bryce on the other hand.......I give up on him
-
Is it just that the NFL game is too big and too fast for him? Seems like it to me after last year and this season working on the line to better protect him but seeing him miss guys by 10 feet. Did he lose whatever touch he supposedly had in college or does that touch he had in college just not translate to the NFL when every player he now faces was a college standout? He seemed decent when he QB'd a top college team in the country that was loaded with talent throughout but whatever he had then sure seems like it's mom existent in the NFL
-
Supposedly he has a brain and kind for the game but I have yet to see it last year and this year with some offensive line improvement even a little I still don't see it
-
I don't think there is one after drawing that conclusion from what i saw today
-
For me Canales gets a chance and no problem with that at all. After today, I'm just tired and worn down on Bryce and even wanting to give him any more chances

I'm one of the ones who has laughed at your negativity that seems endless and always but after today I feel pretty negative. I didn't think Bryce would all of a sudden click and become solid this season but I sure did hope so. After seeing us take a dump all over ourselves for 4 quarters I am now coming to terms that Bryce is not an NFL QB even when his line is improved some and he gets a couple new receivers one of which were very proven on other teams. These guys can't catch poo thrown 10 feet above their heads and behind them and past them and every other which way except where it's supposed to go. It all sucks right now and is pretty damn sad. All I do know after today is I am now 99.9% sure Bryce isn't an NFL QB and I would probably take a PJ Walker or Sam Darnold over him as a backup instead of having Bryce as even a backup after what I saw today.
