You have clearly watched more preseason than me. So substitute PJ for Will... doesnt matter, the point remains, if we can get trade value take it. We live or die with Sam.

PJ is by far our best back up right now. That being said, TRADE HIM. We are sink or swim with Sam. If Sam goes down due to injury, I want a top draft pick.

Some of you guys are the oline guru's but from what I could see it appeared we are better at run blocking than pass blocking. If you had to pick a strength of this oline (I know I know..) what would it be and do you see JB playing towards that strength?

Yeah thats true as well. We need Darnold to succeed and the best way to do that is to give him playmakers. I think we are in a good position to see if he is the guy.

Given the amount of high quality WR's coming out of college each year, you could make the case that paying top of the market for a WR is a misuse of resources.

haha I think that's the exception. Like I said there is good strategy to do the deal, but we REALLY need to make the right decision

... might not be a popular take but it might be easier finding a player with DJ's skillset in the draft than someone with Anderson's. That said, a 2 year deal is hardly a roster breaking contract by any means.

I would absolutely risk that last year. I think it would be foolish to sign him long term after this year no matter how well he does. His career to so far been really bad. He needs to ball out then we can give him big money after his second with us. If we cannot agree to a number we can tag him twice. There is strategy to sign him long after this year for a below market contract if he has a good year. But his NFL lows have been so low that I would hate to see us gamble and fail in such a critical position. We gambled with this last year with Teddy, I would hate to see us do that again.

Even if Darnold DOES work out, he's not getting top of the market money. No where close. Darnold needs to show 2+ seasons of high level play to get a big contract. This is why he is a low risk high upside signing.

Nice. Game still has some glitches but I played my 1st game and iot was fun. navigating the play screens will take sometime to relearn though.

a 2 year deal is perfect. If we dont re-up him but the time the contract is up we will have Marshall replacing him.

what really bugs me about it, is not that hes in the game, (i mean its weird but whatever) but that Madden claims to be a football simulation. How do you justify his rating in anyway? Hes rated higher than Trevor Lawrence

Im not sure, that one just stood out when I looked at the FA pool. The next best FA QB is like 20 overall less then Kaep.

I also dont understand his 81 rating. He rated better than a lot of QB's despite being out of the league for what 4 years? For perspective, Newton is only 76

1st move in the rebuild is pick up Colin Kaepernick from FA who is rated 81 overall. Thats 10 overall better than Darnold.

I bought it. Didnt last year. I just like the team building aspect almost more than playing the games. But man the roster sucks...
