The Panthers have a true magician on the team

Yeah the fog of war. Scratch war and put in beat writers in preseason. -
Has anyone here ever met David Tepper in person?

I am so opposed to the trading to the top pick method it isn’t funny. Up to me I’d probably draft one where they fell, if I liked them, every draft. Until one hit. edit: Again, teams that are in positition to take a generational type do not trade that pick You can only trade for pretty substantial gambles as far as I can figure. Pass. -

Letting him play us into the top pick would be the best plan, should that be the path things take. -

It is all they can reasonably do. Painted themselves into a corner. -
You might get that from outside the org (maybe the league). No one can speak those words and keep a job. True or not. My opinion was similar, he has a lot to prove. edit: That thing about the 3rd year articles... yeah. I hope he either kills it or totally blows again because that middle ground wait another year to judge him is not appealing to me at all.

Lol I say give Tepper the season to stay the fug on the sidelines and behave acceptably (no meddling, no firings, no throwing tantrums with aimed ice cubes or screaming “Phuck!!!” in front of the team and the press, multiple etceteras). If he makes that he might be a little better up the learning curve than the next rich dilettante. It is sort of like how I feel about Young. I really did not want either but on a bad day I put the optimism goggles over one eye.

I think that test will come, if it does, after this season. He pretty much has to buy in to the crappy WRs and buy into it is fixed, and buy into the OL is fixed (which I kind of buy into) and there will be a strong running game... to give his S2 driven selection the tools to succeed. -
I appreciate your comments. I don’t think I, as a heavy Bryce critic, even referred to the AT comments, but probably defended people that were just tired of- I will call it 'false positive overload’, or cheerleading I guess. I commented that the team spams fluff and I resent them for it. Basically. Everybody knows where to find that stuff and some days the first four or five threads are from the team PR. It is irritating. Like the CMC gif being up here forever after he was long gone, also irritating. Ands the Bryce ‘debate’. What else is there? Really. It is a component of just any offensive discussion. And if you want all positive, man... that is just not the reality right now.

I think some evolve past it, but admit I struggle to cite a recent example. -
I am kind of amused that people are outraged over negativity towards a team that blew major division/playoff smoke and backed it up with the 2-15 2023 season that we all watched. I’ll stop there with the details. I think people understand that coaches and teammates are expected to say positive things. So it could be seen as just more smoke we are expected to breathe in and like it. With their track record, skepticism is par. I say get over it.

Let’s see him abstain from being a bull in a china shop for one year, then we’ll talk. -

Hey, ‘they' say that many successful people are psychopaths. ‘They’ also say that psychos can be quite charming. The things that guy has done seem to confirm he has an all time huge ego to the point it is a real problem. If you cross him. Buying the guy’s house and tearing it down? I rest my case. -
The Carolina Panthers are hurtling towards threats of relocation
strato replied to hepcat's topic in Carolina Panthers
You are right. At the same time, if I had twenty years to live, and had to do it without the Carolina Teppers? As they have been in the first 6, I could go way longer. Honestly, he has really given people very little to root for. if you are a certain mindset you loved the trade up. But when that was culminated, you hated it. Most of you. If you were of a different mindset, you wanted nothing to do with that kind of strategery. -
Happy name day nerd boy.

Yeah well to most people it seems like football is all offense anymore. Defense is only a technicality to be worked around - which they are ‘improving’ the rules annually. I should add: I am looking forward to seeing him work this year to compare it with last year and see if he is as good as I think he is.

That guy’s portrayal of the 'average fan', he did good.

I live in Georgetown County SC, near the Horry County line. There are so many people from different states on the coast, you are gonna have a tough time with the demographics but people do understand who the home team is. If they can do anything decent like maybe win back to back years and show they can be somebody, they would pick up fans and become a thing. I think.

Usually you have to wade through a bunch of social interactions and niceties and general bs to get to the point. If you have time for that, do what you feel. edit: I mean, yuou can spend a bit of time with all that and still come out not feeling that you learned anything.

Good one. Nuance matters. Or tries to.

I have been opining for a while that this will be better simply because Canales knows from a year of NFL film what he has in Young. I think Reich was blindsided really and couldn’t deal. How much of that was because of the way the staff was assembled and that infighting or head butting that resulted, I don’t know but that will not be happening this season. The composition of the offensive staff seems to have people that are on the same page. I feel like if they vanilla I am going to give them the benefit of ther doubt. For one thing Canales has said he really doesn’t think preseason games are as good a proving ground as scrimmages, and they generally run a series or two with the first team in preseason games. I’d be wanting to hide whatever I could hide and just get out of there healthy. If I had anything worth hiding, that is.
