  1. He may have said that all along, you know? Or believed it.
  2. About TMJ and next season when one or both AT and DJ are gone, his contract is done, right? He is young but his contract isn't. With the soaring costs of WR deals, the investment of a 1 and a 2 in consecutive years... I am not saying he will command a ton but it looks like the deals are inflated as hell now, so pay him or fill the gap with the next man up? Whoever that is.
  3. Watch it (for yourself). Basically doesn't like 'expectations'. Which, if I didn't I would have said 'they can limit you'.
  4. I think he basically wants to avoid the rebuild mindset in the locker room interfere (oops, interfering) with his rebuild. As to what else was said, I lol'd at the double standard coach speak about the corners - size matters, they have a prototype - where was that when it really counted? At the same time indicating Young is being coached pretty hard (my words), and personally by Canales and giving the impression that it is taking, that is a good thing to hear.
  5. First, there is fact. 31 teams passed on claiming him, for whatever reason. So we wouldn't be the only guilty party. I would have kept him, but it wasn't a huge issue for me that he is gone either, and looking at things the best he could do was ... 8th on SF depth chart? That will probably improve for him but where would he be if he got on the 53, to impact anything? He is struggling to be in the NFL. I think Morgan is safe on him. That edge thing, that has to be fixed. But it is year one and everyone here pretty much agreed it isn't a one offseason fix. So.. I like Dan so far. I like his cap guy. On the cap thing, that guy is about to earn his money.
  6. Giving your age away. You remember prehistoric wired telephones.
  7. Me too. I think that part of the plan is 'the old Seattle Russel Wilson' derived. They drafted the guy for that reason. Strong, fast enough, wins a lot of those contested balls. Bored so will also add that the accuracy on the line to target becomes more pronounced with distance. There are still balls being thrown or arriving a little late it looked like. 2 degrees off isn't a lot at ten yards but at 40, I don't the algorithm but it's more by 4 times at least. 1 foot becomes 4. Most of deep balls I see, bombs I guess, require adjustment to track them down.
  8. Yeah I agree it was strategic shuffling. A nod and a wink, we'll make it official after some maneuvering.
  9. Is anyone out there on the radar for a post week one signing?
  10. I haven't refreshed by rewatching but my impression in memory is they were wide of the line to the target along with being off in distance, to the point that I didn't trust that a throw that was on target was really any different than the others, it just happened to end in a good place. (saying to me, those times, he did it right, but can't replicate it with regularity?) Obviously I am a critic but think I am being accurate other than my speculation about the on target stuff. Maybe this footwork mechanics thing will tighten things up.
  11. I'm not sure what he 'normally' does. How is anybody? His 'deep' balls were kind of all over the place. Long, and wide. Sometimes they went basically where they were intended, I think. Those were caught, dropped or defended. Let's see some consistency and then maybe we can figure it out.
  12. Lewis, is he still on the team? With the team? Still away for personal issues? What is the story there? This guy seems like a good pickup.
  13. That's funny. Really, not being sarcastic. The deep balls thing. The answer would be, of course, "balls deep". Which how deep depends on what he is working with. Same as on the field.
  14. This ISM Moore thing is based on ISM was dinged up probably, plus they cut the WRs short so whatever returner that is the better WR is kept. This is pretty fluid still I think. After week one, the expensive vets' contracts do not need to be guaranteed. edit: And as for KR, who the hell knows how that is going go? Less certainty may affect investment motivation.
  15. I should have said instead of signing an iffy player to a big money deal given to a real bona fide guy, it is better to draft another.
  16. They gotta know they aren’t safe way down there. It does suck for them personally.
  17. New model will be build the hell out of your team and use QBs on rookie deals. I would not want to be a Dolphins fan right now.
  18. Lol I did not know that was a real award, I was playing. Hope he is in the conversation.
  19. Most improved for me, I'll take that one and hope there is no need for a 'comeback' year. And I am sorry to nitpick I am frustrated and trying not to upset the usual suspects with what I really think.
  20. Appreciate him but he is a notch down from the other guys who were seen as our best LB. In most 'eras'.
  21. As I understand a comeback: first you have to achieve and then be bad - then you can come back to achieving at your previous good level. Come back. He can go most improved.
  22. I messed up my quotation of CPF4LIFE but there it is now lol Yeah. I concur. That Pro day was eye opening. Running start was there. See, I quit spending so much time on looking at NFL players for Panthers drafts until I just said, forget it. It doesn't matter what I think, and I don't really watch college ball any more and don't want to put time into it. Point being I had no preconceptions from 2021 or even 2022 or any of it. No positive bias to reinforce what he did that day. And I decided that I needed to look, so I looked. That pro day, man. I couldn't believe people liked it. on that kind of level
  23. He was putting everything he had into it too. He looks better now but what would Luke or Showboat Ray Lewis be thinking about facing him?
