  1. Not a lot of room to make it worse though, from where we are. We could go 0-17. What do you think we will do this year? 3 wins? 4? I think I predicted 6 I know that I did last year. Trying to give the benefit of the doubt there but that is wasted on this QB.
  2. I don’t know that I would come to that interpretation of those doings. I might agree that they are two different kinds of quarterbacks but I would separate them into the categories of NFL capable and non capable. Reich knew that young was a disaster when he got a close up look at his bag of QB tricks. Word is he wanted to sit him so he could maybe get some remedial coaching to bring him up to snuff for competing against the big boys. He knew the ship would go straight to the bottom with Captain Bryce. Two different kinds of QBs that have success in the NFL are the backyard athletes and the traditional pocket passing surgeons. I think either coach could deal with either style as long as the body and the tools were suited to the job. Maybe not, I can’t think of examples of both kinds for either coach. Vince fuging Lombardi would fail with Bryce and June Jones would also fail with him. My opinion. Edit: I probably meant to say Jim Mora Jr, was looking for the Mike Vick coach.
  3. I think Canales is protecting him too with some of these play calls. Like he gets fired if Bryce does or something.
  4. I missed that. I tried to view it but for some reason my ancient iPad was only showing me some guy with hair. Did he buy Hair Club for Men recently? edit: okay found it and played it lol. Btw he looks like his back hurts the way he is walking, might be all that weight he has put on.
  5. My other reaction is ‘but but he is a defensive minded guy’. Which I prefer anyway. I was not in favor of a single aspect of this migration to an offense focused organization. Or barely a single aspect. Dan Campbell seems an exception, he is pretty hard nosed.
  6. Yeah it permeates everything, everyone’s consciousness. Defense too. Maybe ST are somewhat immune but the players on those units participate in the other phases. It is a motivation killer to know that you have probably lost before you ever step in the ring.
  7. I wouldn’t be against that my worry would be that he has been doing this a long time and there may be some burnout.
  8. Involving narcissistic Hollywood actors in any real world endeavor is a prescription for dysfunction. They lend their names to things, they don’t really do anything else but talk and pose.
  9. That particular observation is fair, acceptable, I can agree with that. Let’s be fair to both the goose and the gander. I didn’t see the game but I have seen Andy and I have seen (too much of) Bryce. The eye test tells me they are not close to the same in non garbage time and Andy is the far superior passer even in his NFL old age. Night and day. He whips narrow ass all day and twice on Sunday.
  10. I turned those guys off for good early last year after feeling really irritated with them pretty much since they have been riding Bryce’ jock and being overly shitty to texters and callers who disagreed with them. Have nothing good to say about them especially Mac.
  11. I fail to see where we would have power to do anything but maybe get the team moved away. It isn’t a coach trying get fired or player benched or drafted it is the owner selling the team. The owner who probably has more money than all the people that would fill his stadium. Or half fill in this case. Combined.
  12. I don’t understand the organization blame thing in the sense that the people who were here when Baker was here are not the people who are in place for this iteration of the team. This era. Morgan is no offensive guy and if was here for Baker and Sam (just looked he came here in 2021) he likely had little to do with any of that he was a subordinate front office exec with scant offensive background. I also can’t quite reason out why he would have had real influence over the selection of which QB we took, because what kind of power did he even have? I say probably little real power. I think he should be judged by what he did as GM when he did have some power. And the idea that if f something is perceived to be wrong now they are blamed/credited for what happened when they weren’t even here. Tepper is the only real link. I struggle to accept this line of thinking.
  13. Remember when he said he would take a year to learn the business side and a year to learn the football side? He was supposed to be straight 6 years ago. Ready to take on the NFL. Wasted three years some great draft slots on an obvious folly. Carpetbagging motherphucker That felt good.
  14. I haven’t made a deal out of CJ since we left 2023. It isn’t a thing I look at. I root for him if I see his game but that means nothing. Just became familiar with him and wanted to take him but Bryce stands or falls on his own and CJ Stroud’s success or failure is irrelevant to Young does. I mean that extends to head to head. Because they are not head to head at all. They are playing against a defense. People trying to make it mean something so they can one up somebody? Meh whatever. frank and completely, you guys are cracking me up tonight
  15. He is trying to build a team that can carry a crap QB because the owner insists that we coddle the crap QB. PS I don’t know What Tennessee was doing firing Vrabel. I know that Dave’s (and most of the posters here) obsession with having a shiny modern offensive brain and the finesse offense that generally comes with that preclude interest in hiring Vrabel or any other defensive guy.
  16. I feel like Canales, or anyone that had to depend on Young for success, should get a shot without him. IOW I agree we need to see that. He is green as poo. With too much on his plate, having to be QB guru play calling guru (around what might mouse can do), and the rest of the team too. Steep learning curve. People talk about you Young going elsewhere and succeeding should be wary of that with Canales.[edit: not saying immediately, but he can get himself another shot] We knew to get a coach we had to hire one too early. And we did. So I am more hesitant to trash his potential than I am BY9. How big or fast Canales is, doesn’t matter; we can”t go by his physique to see his ceiling like we can with a high school sized QB with bad footwork. as far as improving….. When the OL’s continuity gets messed with, you have setbacks and it takes time to re-establish. That happened to Dalton last year I think. Things around him were just not that good. Out of sync. It never really settled back in before he had his accident. Same thing is happening here so it might be a while before we see any improvement, especially with this guy playing QB. Maybe at home against a team doing us favors, we can see something better.
  17. I was there in spring 2023. I just knew. Could see it in Bryce, what he is. College. And for me to see it, it needs to be obvious. I guess everyone thought his other ‘qualities’ overrode his physical deficiencies. Relative to the NFL. With Tepper, we are down to hoping a blind squirrel finds that nut. On top of that, we have to worry he will think he can tell the nut how to be a nut.
  18. Yeah there are other inadequacies that could trigger action unrelated to Bryce Young. But is seems like Evero was also a condition. Which would cut out the defensive side in a fair evaluation.
  19. Cool. That is really short. Excluding his no doubt fat paycheck I would not want to be in Canales’ position under these circumstances.
  20. It stands to reason that there would have been conditions of employment baked into an agreement. Especially if it is a 7 year deal (someone said it was I have forgotten). Bryce gets two years of development before the cut bait clause kicks in, or something like that. It makes too much sense. Canales would still have time to draft and develop his guy under those terms. I know this, if Bryce is bullshit, fools gold, those players know it right away. if people don’t think being forced to take the field with a guy you have no faith in does not affect their attitudes, they aren’t thinking right. It can’t not affect things, even in professionals. I am not dying on the Canales hill, but I don’t think he gets a fair evaluation if he is only judged by what he can do with Bryce’s leading the team. Not him specifically, that goes for anyone.
  21. Please do. I’m sure it will be a short clip.
  22. The contrast was stark. Black and white vs color tv.
  23. I guess I am gonna have to Um, listen, UM, to Bryce’s postgame to see what his excuse is. Even though I know that it will likely be “I have to UM , be better….”
  24. Look at the bright side. Maybe at the tail end of a long and successful career, he will come to Carolina for his last underperforming washed up hurrah performing year.
