  1. Dammit. Y'all are nuts talking about being in favor of playing Young. Out.Of.Your.Minds. It is total disrespect to us. And his teammates. You can't remember defenses all crowded because he can't or won't throw deeper than ten yards:? Okay, 12. Cannot have a running game at all like that. You can't have an offense. Go back and look at his numbers or rewatch the first two games, if you have the stomach for it. Watch the looks on his teammates' faces when they interviewed them after he was benched. They can barely conceal their relief. Joy, even. I wish I were lying.
  2. I wish they would abolish the Thursday games and the stupid ass go to Europe and play. But there were a couple of pretty good games this year on Thursday. They must get the refs to keep them looking better. Let them play, whatever, because they have really sucked in the past. Rattler, I watched last week. He had a decent first half and they started clamping down on him after the half. He is by far better than Bryce. No contest. He has a chance. We are talking about a 5th round rookie that probably never even got 1st team reps until last week. It isn't like they took him expecting to be playing him in week 6.
  3. Actually it does. You should do better against weaker teams or a weaker schedule. Pretend it is the same team. Plays a tough schedule and wins 2 games. Plays a weak schedule and still only wins 2 games, that is worse. Make any sense?
  4. Okay then let me just say that a NORMAL person should not be barred from having meetings with their employees. I have never been a Tepper fan.
  5. Well, now Brady is involved and could be the biggest QB acquisition influencer so how that would go - considering he was a very late pick himself and killed the NFL - it is hard to say how desperate he would be feeling.
  6. TMJ didn't make the team but last year, yeah that was total Bryce impairment. You are right that I overlooked the PJ Walker/Darnold/Mayfield involvement so I stand corrected.
  7. It could be any team too for that matter. The idea was originally do not play Young any more. It came off of the rumor about he will start 7 games or whatever that was. I was pissed hearing it and tired of arguing over it and was trying to get some humorous dialog going instead of the contentious stuff. My original idea was simply one of those red circles with the line struck through it like they use for no smoking no this no that, And I was going to put the #9 part of Young's jersey inside that circle. I have crap image shopping skills or I'd have made that. I was soliciting other ideas. Pretending it could get on a billboard. Really not being serious about it but would have enjoyed the other ideas, such as the Step Back Tep thing up there. It evolved with Snow I think saying first that yard signs were a good idea, in relation to issues that could be created by doing a billboard, with the company or the team etc. And requires no real investment which I thought was a good idea too. Then it sort morphed into a contest concept. That's where we are. Looking to not really use Tepper as the butt of the joke but the recipient of the message. I'm open to whatever there are no real rules or even official anything as of right now. Just have some fun with trying to be creative and stay out of trouble. I had the idea that the old bottle cap puzzles which are like... image riddles I guess, could be a good way to not directly say something but maybe get people curious enough to solve it and maybe tell their friends about it. If it was done well maybe it gets popular and the message spreads and it just blows up on him.
  8. This is fun: https://www.chicagobears.com/news/huge-trade-a-gift-that-keeps-on-giving-for-bears-panthers-2023-dj-moore-draft And we'd sure be happier today if we had used the pick at least correctly.
  9. Maybe it will help him. Although I really don't know why but if Wilson is benched it might, to go play knowing the job is yours.
  10. So didn't we pay his signing bonus in full or at least it stays on our cap? I am really, always confused with these cap things. He has roster bonuses if I am correct that will pass. His year three salary isn't that much by any QB standards, around 1m and the roster bonus is 3m or so. Low enough to round down. The whole two years maxes at around 11 million. If I am right about us paying the signing bonus and only the future roster bonus and salary goes with him (The roster bonus for 2024 is paid and the remaining salary is 'only' 915,000. Which if he went today would have maybe 600k left for this year on his new team).
  11. Never happen. Did you see him commenting on Bryce's benching? I used to have big respect for that guy, football wise. No more.
  12. They'll just repeat the "Panthers ruined him" over and over that ESPN tells them. It is a no win for the original skeptics without going through that whole what about the Green Bay game thing.
  13. Double pie for old school NFL inside stuff. I appreciate that poo. My mom danced with Johnny Unitas back in the day and my dad wasn't even jealous.
  14. Oops. Some of it was probably there as well. The run ups to get distance. The all out effort to get zip, that sort of thing. But he had what I called a skip step and others called it a hitch, and it was plain as day. My concern was the extra time that added to releasing the ball, mostly (and the space it took for the extra step) but it also went to his lower velocity and all I could envision was say, throw a sideline pass that covers a lot of ground and how much extra time the fast ass NFL DBs would be given to close on it it. That type of thing. It was big question that could really only be answered in live NFL action. It goes to the margins thing. They are slimmer, it isn't the SEC. Let me tell you, you were happier not seeing it and trying to bring it up around here at the time.
  15. Well, to what you said about Stroud, no way he would have looked as bad as Young did on last year's team. Which was the typical line from the stans, that would have been no better. BS. I am not saying he would have lifted the Panthers to Houston's record, it would have likely been a more typical rookie struggle. But the 'hey Peyton Manning sucked his first year' platitude poo, would have had a ring of authenticity.
  16. So they really benched him. Wilson must better than I figured, I wanted nothing to do with him. I do have to say, Young said something similar. Like, the ball touches my hands every play... and that he didn't play well enough or something close to it.
  17. He wasn't the first to obviously game the combine. Obvious as hell.
  18. If you go right now and find film of his pro day and it fools you, you should stop telling us about QBs. Not just you, I don't mean it personally. Anyone that doesn't see it. I am no expert at all and it just stood out. I am betting you didn't really look hard at that.
  19. That is how the game is played. I put on the team to see through it because we all knew what was happening. Why didn't they? Rhetorical question.... I watched Stroud video and some analysis and he clearly was NFL caliber arm and mechanics. It was all there. and Refined. What got me doubting was the S2 slander. I would have accepted Richardson at that point. It was always anybody but Bryce after watching him throw at his pro day and his lack of any NFL grade above average athleticism, arm, foot speed, no redeeming physical skills whatsoever. My whole thing was, well, maybe, I guess, if you insist, but he makes it way harder than necessary. Why do that with such narrow margins? You just don't do that at the top pick. Or the top ten. Highest I could see was like an Aaron Rodgers scenario even though I wouldn't have personally taken him until late day two at the earliest. Don't give two cents for college success, he has to project to the big boy league.
  20. I just said he was running hard, which I saw in the first game and he still is. Not that he was tearing anything up... I didn't mean to imply that. Seems like he is not dogging anything though.
  21. Hey I watched it too, and you saw what I saw. It wasn't ideal. But I saw what you saw on the other side of too, which was... that didn't happen every snap by any means and things got somewhat better and an NFL QB should be able to function at some level despite the issues.
  22. If at all avoidable, that should no way be the plan. He needs to get out there and take a hit and learn to trust his repair at least. You don't want to wait a whole offseason and then have some kind of setback. It'll be like that micro fracture poo with Foster... (that was Foster right?) edit: So they are probably in trade talks for Diontae it looks like.
  23. Okay now you are making me think that is why we are hearing the Bruce starting again trash. Kidding, but we are about to find out about that tired arm thing. And I am sure you are right about last season and the OL but the ole' can't pick up a stunt was a real thing and it only takes one or two bad ones for the old bones to start hurting. And plus, they don't recover as fast when you are older.
