Half the people here trashed the 2023 offense while overlooking that a coach they don’t think much of went 6-6 with them to finish 2022. You could have built on that. Think about the picks lost and DJ too, and the additional investment in 2024 and the 1st this year and imagine all that still being done and having Darnold running it. Then the 9th in 2023, the other 1st and two 2nds, you could have put them into the defense and still have had the massive offensive investment. Granted you would have altered the cap money you had for the guards by paying Darnold. And tell me we wouldn’t have been so far ahead of where we are now….

I looked at the passing charts and where the big cluster of throws was and it looks too easy for the defense to counter. Bait him and eat. I get that if you are forced out of the pocket because of a real threat you better respond, it just looks that that is his 1st impulse. Last year it seemed like every trip into the red zone ended in a TD. I would almost look at the FG/TD rate and turnovers generated before yards. I am not looking now because I agree it is too early to trust numbers.

I have rarely been mad at Young for any of this. Sure I am sick of his play and get frustrated wvery so often and call him a lil or a peewee or high school or something. It is everything that came with him that is so hard to deal with. Starting with watching him try to play NFL level ball. Knowing what was coming since April 2023 and enduring it into year three. Being old with a finite number of seasons left and knowing they threw at least three of them away the minute his name was called was the worst part of it. Wondering if I would live long enough to see anything better or was he going to be it the rest of my life. They keep making the mistake of seeing something in him, clutching their delusions. Watching that happen year after year and knowing it could happen yet another year. Tepper stole my football joy. I know, poor me. But it sucks I tel you.

Sacks are easier to get when you have an offense that forces teams to play from behind often enough that you get those pass attempts up.
