Regarding Canales, looking for him to not be out coached is probably not the best criteria to go with. That is going to happen. This is Canales year of getting schooled. You learn later on if he is getting it. And it it probably isn’t a one year thing. He’ll be a sophomore next year, still facing professors.

His passing chart needs to look like a good NFL quarterback. With no red dots and plenty of downfield completions. The team has to run an offense that doesn’t rely on screens and flairs and rollouts. I don’t think that is going to happen.

I think he does not have to pass through waivers as a 4 year vet. That makes him a vested vet and he is released outright to free agency. So I don’t think there are contractual obligations attached.
