His only ranked wins were vs. ECU and Navy. ECU turned it over 5 times and out-gained Temple roughly 4:1.. Navy turned it over 3 times. Temple was +8 in turnover margin in those two wins. Both Temple and Navy both dropped out of the rankings after those losses and ended those seasons roughly .500ish.

He was with the Steelers for years. This is just where we are as an organization. No one is really knocked for their work with us because who could possibly succeed in this dumpster fire? That's the sad reality. They'll be looking at what he did in a real NFL organization, not here. Beane sat here while Hurney made idiotic move after idiotic move but the rest of the NFL knew he was a future GM.

We gotta fire Rhule before he sends us further down the road to hell. What a collosal mistake it was to hire him and give him full control.

My interest in this team is at an all time low
LinvilleGorge replied to Ricky Spanish's topic in Carolina Panthers
You want us to complete our evolution into becoming the full on Lions/Browns of old just so I'll go away? Wow. Rent fuging free. -
This is pretty funny to watch though. ND has always been borderline delusional about their standing in the world. They had never had a football coach leave voluntarily to take another job and now their all-time winningest coach bounces.
-
It really is. With the insane contracts being given out left and right in college, the NFL is about to turn into a farm league for P5 college coaches.
-
Yeah, you wouldn't be saying that if you were the one who got fired and had your shot to serve up that revenge dish ice cold.
-
I like Ron the man, but it was time to move on from Ron the coach. WFT sucks. We just suck worse and so do the Seahawks. Rhule was a mistake from jump street.

It's cute that people think the academic standards at good schools aren't WAY more relaxed for athletes. There's a reason why those wealthy people were paying bag men to pay off non-revenue sports coaches to get their kids into good schools.

Why the hate on Slye? We fired him. He took another job. When he had a chance to face off against us again, he performed well and they won. Yeah, he gad a little fun with it but I'mma be honest... I would've rubbed it in way more than he did.
-
That wasn't the case against WFT. The offense didn't have anything to do with Tua looking like prime Drew Brees right out of the gate either. It's okay to admit the D sucked the last two games. They're still the strength of our team, it's just that being the strength of this team is like being the best team in the ACC this year. You still suck.

The people who watched the last two games are definitely complaining about this defense.

Lookin like no one wants Rhule
LinvilleGorge replied to Sean Payton's Vicodin's topic in Carolina Panthers
He has nothing to lose. If he gets fired getting at least a Baylor caliber job is virtually guaranteed. He'd likely get an upgrade. Dude's playing with house money. -
Oh good grief.

Agreed. My Panthers fandom began with the drafting of Julius Peppers. The Panthers were always the local team and I had casual interest as such but it wasn't like I grew up a Panthers fan or in a Panthers household. There was just nothing more than local proximity to draw me to the team and that wasn't enough. I was just a general NFL fan who had favorite players more so than favorite teams. Then we drafted Julius Peppers and this big Tar Heel fan became a big Panthers fan overnight. Meanwhile, the Panthers have changed ownership and become an utter trainwreck. If Rhule is retained it's not out of the question that I could get lured away to whatever Sam Howell's ultimate destination is. I would be at least as interested in following that team as I am this current iteration of the Panthers. Just being honest. -
Yep. Rhule's college teams were always defensive driven.

Happy Panther's tank thread and projected draft pick
LinvilleGorge replied to Happy Panther's topic in Carolina Panthers
Honestly, unless Rhule and company are fired I kinda just don't care. I want Sam Howell but I don't want him to end up here unless Rhule and Brady are gone. If they're here, then I hope for his sake he goes elsewhere. -
Honestly, I have to agree. Basically put him in Samuel's old role for a season then cut bait after next year when the contract structure allows us to do so. Sucks, but it is what it is. I don't blame CMC. Some guys just don't hold up at the NFL level. Unfortunately, an absurd percentage of Panthers' greats fit into that category.
